It typically records variables such as vehicle speed, acceleration and deceleration speeds, steering angles, tilt, throttle position, brake application, force of impact, airbag deployment times, and seat belt usage. To confirm if your vehicle has a black box, consult your owner’s manual or use a vehicle search tool.

The Honda CR-V Touring is the top-of-the-line trim level, available in several trim levels including LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. This option is available on models with continuously variable transmission (CVT), front-wheel drive (FWD), or all-wheel drive (AWD). A leather-wrapped steering wheel is also a nice touch. Does my Honda have a black box?
Black boxes are essential safety devices in cars, designed to collect data on car accidents. They have been present in major American car brands like Buick, Chevy, and Cadillac since 1994 and have been used by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration since the early 2000s. If your car is from 2013 or later, you are almost guaranteed to have one, as less than 5% of new cars came without one in 2013. If your car is not on the list and is not a 2014 or later model, you can assume it does not have a black box.
The black box records data such as speed, throttle position, brake application, airbag deployment, seatbelt use, steering angles, and other factors as they were 20 seconds before, during, and 20 seconds after a crash. This information helps the vehicle manufacturer determine if the crash was caused by a preventable human error or a mechanical failure in their system. If your car is not on the list and not a 2014 or later model, you can assume it does not have a black box.
Does the 2024 Honda CR-V have leather seats?

Why do most new cars have black interiors?
The selection of a black interior is advantageous in that it is less prone to displaying dirt and grime than a lighter hue. In contrast, interiors in gray, beige, or tan may demonstrate a greater propensity to retain such stains, making their removal a challenging endeavor.

Event data recorders are standard in many vehicles manufactured by major automakers like Ford, Chrysler, GM, Toyota, Nissan, and Honda. The federal government does not require an event data recorder for every vehicle, although there was a push to adopt new safety technology and promote autonomous or semi-autonomous driving. However, there is no federal law in place, and manufacturers are now installing them voluntarily. Federal safety regulations apply to vehicles manufactured on or after September 1, 2012, if they are equipped with an event data recorder. These regulations are outlined in 49 CFR § 563. 3.

My 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid review inside and out! Looking at the 2024 CR-V Hybrid Sport, including pricing, cargo and …
This is same car I bought last month – a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport -L in Radiant Red. I have bought about 15 cars in my 74 trips around the sun. So far this one takes first prize. One of the “features” that stands out for me is how extremely quiet it is in both gas and electric modes. And of course the low mpg is nice. I have been averaging about 36.6 and have gotten as high as 41.3 in town. I know it’s early, but so far it has been a real pleasure to drive this car. This will likely be the last car I’ll own and I’m glad I saved the best for last!
I have the 2024 sport touring hybrid. I love it. Just a few comments: I wish the mirrors automatically moved when changing between the two driver settings. It would also be nice for the side mirrors to go down when in reverse. I also think this top of the line model should have had the windshield display and 360 camera. I also think the steering wheel should have more adjustment range. I did find the seats were very stiff and uncomfortable when it was new but now they’re broken in and just fine. And agree we need a spare tire. Other than that, I love it.
CORRECTION: The “Paddle Shifters” are used to adjust the rate of battery re-charge/regenation. Left padle is increase, right is decrease. You will feel the rate of regernative resistance when you take your foot off the gas. The paddles do not shift gears. The CRV-Hybrids have e-cvt type transmissions – no shifting gears. You will hear pseudo shift sounds from the speakers on hard accellerarion in the Normal driving mode which are much much louder in Sport mode. I have had a 2024 CRV Hybrid Sport Touring for six months with zero regrets!
You mentioned setting up Sirius XM radio; however, the Honda CR-V Hybrid Sport model (with the seven-inch display) does not have the capability to get Sirius XM. When I bought the car, the Honda dealer failed to mention that, even though I mentioned Sirius XM twice to him. So if Sirius is important to someone, then they should buy the next model up, with the nine-inch display. Had I known this, it would have affected my decision to buy this model. It really spoiled the entire car-buying experience for me, even though I like the car otherwise.
I have a non hybrid right now and love it ❤ I went to take a test drive in the hybrid and was almost ready to sign on the dotted line. What stopped me? That there is no spare! They have some type of chemical to hold you over until you can get to a place to buy a new tire. Well my son bought a hybrid and his tire blew out on his way home and the goop doesn’t work if your tire blows up! It took us almost 3 hours to get a tow truck to come out. Had the car come with a tire, he could have just changed the tire. They could have added the tire to the back door like the RAV 4, I had one of those before too. Not sure I will buy a hybrid just for that reason, we shall see what happens. That was very disappointing to me.
I have the 2024 Limited and I do like it. It rides great. Good gas mileage (24 city, 28 hwy). However, my daughter has a 2016 HR-V and has a far better back up camera system that shows right turn cam and overhead cam. Also, what’s up with the one tone horn?? I had to buy an after market kit with a low hz horn and wiring harness. Embarrassing to beep this horn. I think Honda missed it with those few features including lack of Homelink. Almost Honda, almost.
Are the window features shown at the start of the article standard across all trim levels of the CR-V and do these features exist on the 2024 Toyota RAV4 as well? Also, do the rear seats in the CR-V slide forward and backwards, or is it fixed? The new RAV4’s do not let you slide the rear seats, unlike the earlier generations. Thank you!
Hello, I dare a few observations, 5th generation 4th year. The fuel consumption is intended between the driver’s head and his right legs with the use of recuperation paddles. I had the opportunity to ride for a while and I would summarize it in a few small notes. In today’s heat ventilation of seats, it is not as intense as I would have imagined; I do not know whether the intensity can be set. Furthermore, I was amazed that the passengers could not adapt their seat as much as the driver. In 5. Ogeneration it was possible to set the armrest and often use it for longer routes. Damage. I did not find out what the sunroof is for when Honda has air conditioning. I would expect a greater suppression under the front wheels, the noise is somewhat larger. They could better adapt the compartment to recharge your mobile, as the cell phone runs in the corner. See how quite practically they created and entered the lower part of the car; On the back is already a hole that will suffer especially in winter (I mean part from the rear axle). Otherwise, I finally praise the practical rear safety belts that can be set as much as the front. I also praise the possibility to set the position of the rear seats. It is a pity that the rear passengers cannot separately adjust the positioning bench position. I still remembered the heated steering wheel, which is only on temperament and not of heating. Heating seems to understand that I could set the heating temperature as in the seats. I praise that someone has finally remembered that in the trunk people not only carry their suitcases on holiday, but for over a year they are made shopping, and in the masters that can at least be attached.
I own a 2025 Sport Touring which is very similar. A few improvements I suggest for Honda: program an option for analog temperature, oil pressure and tachometer instead of idiot lights and nonsensical power meter, car seems to over-rev and struggle on steep grades which may be a function of the eCVT programming, the automatic lift gate using your foot seldom works probably because the sensor gets dirty quickly, center consul and glove box are really flimsy for a top level trim package, add fog lights that were on earlier models, include the luggage/cargo cover on top trims as in earlier models, include a larger car battery such as the size included in Canadian models as the tiny US battery will likely not last more than a couple of years, update manual to discuss vacuum pump inside the fuel evaporation leakage check module (ELCM) that comes on several hours after parking, add a better oil dipstick where the driver can easily see the oil level on the stick – the plastic markers are crap, add a fuel cap instead of the silly plastic seal on the cover and in the filker opening that will likely fall apart.
I have this car, just a few things i do not like. 1. The beep when the doors lock. Id prefer a honk as in busy places you can hardly hear it. 2. When remote start is used make the lights stay on so when your inside a building you know it has started. A better rnte would be great as well. 3. Why the bump from the seats to the trunk? When loading a sams club load of groceries it is in the way and makes a tight packing hard.
