What Kind Of Interior Does The Leplus Highlander Have?

The 2019 Toyota Highlander LE and 2019 Toyota Highlander LE Plus are both available in various trim levels, including the Highlander L, LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, and Platinum. The LE Plus trim offers additional features such as a height-adjustable power liftgate, a flip-up rear window, foglights, tri-zone automatic climate control, upgraded upholstery and trim, and a power-adjustable driver seat.

The base trim level for the 2017 Highlander seats eight, with bench seats in the second and third row. The interior styling is not the freshest in this segment, but it is hard to find fault with its fit and finish. The LE Plus features leather-trimmed front and second row seats, heated front seats, power tilt/slide moonroof, and Driver Easy Speak.

The 2019 Toyota Highlander LE Plus offers a more than sufficient stylish experience once you open the doors and enter the roomy interior. The 68.1-inch height provides headroom, while the 192.5-inch overall length makes it feel more spacious than you would ever expect. The interior is plush and comfortable with 44.2 inches of front legroom and 38.4 inches of back legroom.

The 2019 Highlander comes standard with a 3.5L V6 engine, and there are several interior options available, including a universal tablet holder, carpet floor mats and cargo liner package, cargo cover, and cargo net. The LE Plus features include a Smart Key System, liftgate with push button start, leather-trimmed first and second-row seats, and power tilt/slide moonroof.

In addition to these features, the 2019 Highlander also comes with an optional alarm, back-up camera, cruise control dimensions, 8 entertainment options, AM/FM stereo, and auxiliary equipment.

  • Thanks, Steve! I just got My Highlander Limited a month ago and this article showed me something the salesman did NOT show, the cargo cover! Thanks for taking the time to make this. I also watched another one of your articles covering 25 things to know about the Highlander. Your articles should be shown as training articles for sales staff! Thanks again!

  • I had a 15 yo Highlander and just about 6 weeks ago I bought a really nice 3 yo Highlander to replace it. Of course my old car didn’t have this option. As soon as I watched this, I went to the garage and checked it out. I was so glad to see mine had this, especially since it’s used. I started perusal articles to replace a part that was damaged when I purchased the vehicle. I used that article to do my removing and installing of that part. So glad I continued perusal articles just for the heck of it!! Now if I could just find gas and brake pedal extenders, I would be happy. Thank you so much!

  • Steven, I have a 2021Toyota Highlander Limited. I have had since December 2021. I was going to buy a cargo cover. I am so glad I looked at your tutorial on hidden features. My 2011 Highlander I can’t remember but I think it was already set up. And I was looking for instructions to install the cargo net I bought and I saw the hidden features and decided to look at it. I am so glad I did. Salesman did not tell me. I kind of had an idea how to put in the net from my 2011 Highlander but I did not realize all I had to do was pull the hooks on the bottom. Plus I did not have on my glases and di not ant o break anything, Love the information! Thank you!

  • I had no idea I had the Tono cover … i’m not sure if that’s how you spell it but I have a 2021 Highlander I’ve had for over a year and I am looking to find out what that piece is called in between the windows the black piece somebody tried to break into my car and broke that plastic strip between the two glass windows of the passenger front and the passenger back… Anyway I came across this and now I know I have a special gift in the back of my car thank you so much when I move to Nashville which is coming up soon because my daughter is going to go to University of Tennessee and I’m going to move to TN as well!!! Thanks Steve If you know the name of that strip between the two windows can you let me know I know you did this two years ago this post but this is literally January 10 of 2023 LMAO happy new year

  • Thanks for the article. Before I viewed the article, I purchased the 2021 Platinum, asked salesman if I could purchase the cargo cover and they did not have them in stock. Later the next day looking for tricks and found your article. Checked the back as you instructed and there it was. Many thanks saved me the cost of the unit!

  • I had a 2009 Highlander, XLE. It had a Cargo Cover, which I used! Traded it in for a 2015… NO Cover. I asked about it. Was told they weren’t doing them anymore. The Dark tint on back windows took the place of it. I doubted that. I have something that sounds like Golf Balls rolling around . Was hoping you were going to show me a hidden compartment that I could search! This car doesnt have the cover, but all the squares to insert one! Thanks for that info.

  • Sorry, if you buy a car, used or new, you always snoop. I found it within ten minutes of my wife bringing home the car. Why? I was putting a first aid kit in, removable flashing lights, fire extinguisher, inflatable fix a flat and looking for a good place to hide an extra firearm and ammo. We love our highlander. We also have two bullet proof back packs. The world has gone to shit.

  • Hey Steve: I just bought a 2019 Highlander XLE, and I haven’t looked in the “well” yet. I fall into that category of people who set their vanity covers in their garage. I only ever use one when my wife and I are traveling, just so would be thieves DON’T see what’s in the back, but the Christmas gift concept is good too. I was just thinking about whether I should go buy one or not? MAN…Am I glad I watched this article!!! I’ve learned more from perusal your articles in 5 minutes than I did from reading this friggin’ New York City phone book sized owners manual for 2 days!! Thank you. Keep us newbs in mind. I bought my wife a brand new 2016 Toyota RAV4 in 2016 and it was the best decision I ever made. I’m still trying to figure out how the heck to STOP that damned Seat belt alarm???? Thanks: Dave

  • Thanks for your awesome articles on highlanders. 5 days ago I got my new to me highlander xle & I love it. Your articles helped me figure out how to close the power gate when it got stuck open because the window was open, but even better after perusal this article I went out & found exactly what you said the dealer didn’t even realize was already there. We didn’t even notice it when we opened everything up while looking at it before we bought it & we had planned on buying one but now don’t have to with a brand new one already in it. Thanks again!!!

  • My 2004 Highlander Limited V6, 4WD came with the tonneau cover installed. Mine not only unrolls to the rear but there are 2 covers (one left one right) that roll out and snap into the receptacles on the back of the 3rd seats so there is full concealment of the rear cargo area. But thanks to your article I now know that there is a storage location for the assembly when not in use. Like others here I always stored it at the house when rarely using the 3rd seat. Good to know.

  • I have a 2007 toyota highlander, base model. Got sideswiped 3 years ago. Luckily only cosmetic damage. Took it to the body shop and when i got it back they had the back cover installed. I asked them if insurance covered it and they told me it was already in the car. Surprised Pikachu face. I keep my gym bag and hockey bag in there and like to keep it covered.

  • Steve, just purchased a used 2019 Highlander XLE at a dealer in Madison, I wish I would have watched this article before. Bottom line my Highlander has the interior panels with the notches to hold the main piece and hold it extend it at the other end to accommodate the cargo area cover that stores in tire tool area. Do you have a formal name/part number for the cover assembly (2019 model) and a ball park cost? Thank you for making these articles very helpful. I have discovered many things about the Highlanders I probably never would have figured out without them.
