This video provides an overview of how to control all interior lights in a Toyota Highlander, including the entry function, personal lights, and engine lights. For vehicles with a smart key system, the electronic key is used to enable this function. For front doors, the driver’s door handle is used to unlock the door. Personal lights can be turned on/off using the front and rear illuminated entry system. For vehicles without a smart key system, the lights automatically turn on/off according to the engine switch position.
To adjust the seats in your Toyota Highlander, locate the power seat adjustment controls on the side of the seat and use the buttons marked. To adjust the driver’s seat position, use the lever or buttons to move the seat forward or backward. Aiming the headlights properly is important for optimal visibility and safety during nighttime driving.
The Toyota Safety Sense™ 2.0 (TSS 2.0) system automatically switches between high and low beams as appropriate to enhance vision at night. The left of the steering wheel on the dash has a button to adjust dash lights. On the ceiling above the steering wheel, there is a button to turn the interior lights on automatically when you open. The instrument lights can be controlled by pushing the stick in the instrument panel, which lowers the brightness and cycles back to the brightest.

Thank you for this article!! I had accidentally pressed the right reading light instead of the button and when I locked the car to leave it the dome lights stayed on!! I was freaking out because I didn’t want a dead battery in the morning. I didn’t even know that you can push the reading lights but thanks to you and your help I was able to shut it off. Very grateful and I learned something new 😃
Question: My 2019 highlander has a setting of the interior lights where if the car has been unlocked for a few minutes and the interior lights are off, when opening the driver, passenger and trunk doors all the interior lights turn on until you lock the car or close the door and in a couple of seconds the lights turn off. But, if the car has been unlocked for a couple of minutes and the interior lights are off, when I go to open the two back doors, the lights will not turn on. Is there a way to alternate these settings? I tried going into the car settings where it says Vehicle Settings but its blocked and it doesn’t allow me to click on it.
