3M Adhesive Remover is a highly effective product for removing headliner glue and foam residue from car interiors. It dissolves the glue that attaches the foam residue to the surface, making it easier to remove. To remove glue from a headliner, gently apply a solvent like rubbing alcohol and carefully blot with a clean cloth. Avoid soaking or aggressively scrubbing to prevent damage.
To replace the headliner in your car, you will need materials such as upholstery glue, fabric, a screwdriver, a hoover, brushes, tape, scissors, or another cutting tool. To remove the adhesive, use a heat gun or hairdryer to soften the glue, scrape with a plastic scraper or credit card, and apply adhesive.
To glue the headliner back up, clean the area where the headliner will be glued and use a vacuum cleaner to remove the remaining adhesive. A heatgun can be used to unglue the headliner and then scrub the remaining adhesive off with lacquer thinner. A rag damped with laquer thinner will usually remove most headliner glues.
If the adhesive is really dried on, soak a cloth and hold it on the dried adhesive for a little while. Rapid Remover can be used to get the adhesive off by spraying, letting it soak for a while, and then rubbing it away with a roll of shop towels after.
Remove the residual felt backer from the C pillar using a wire wheel that is stiff enough to hook and pull the material off but not so stiff it chews. WD40 works pretty well, but the best is peanut butter. Smear it on with your finger, covering the entire sticker with a thin film.
