Senior Grace Adkins and Senior Christian Chiles are both teenagers who enjoy dressing up for Halloween each year. Adkins believes there is no age limit on costumes, as people dress up for different things. Create a playful pumpkin topiary by gathering small gourds, squash, and pumpkins of various shapes, colors, sizes, and patterns. Balance the flatter pumpkin on top of the taller pumpkin with the hole carved facing down. Add LED tea lights inside the cap pumpkin.
Adorn your mantel, kitchen shelves, or entryway table with an adorable ghost garland using oven bake clay, ghost cookie cutters, and a rolling pin. Paint the face with black acrylic paint for spooky or friendly ghosts. Add pressed flowers and dried blooms to turn the pumpkins into an elegant display using Mod Podge to hold them in place.

📹 DOLLAR TREE HALLOWEEN DIYS 🎃 (easy affordable hacks try this 2023)
Need some brand NEW Dollar Tree Halloween decor for your home this 2022? I have you covered! I’ll be sharing some DIY …
We are the house that have the large animatronic stuff. My husband just bought the headless horseman from Home Depot. On our block they always ask when my husband is putting the stuff up. One year we didn’t put anything up, we had a Halloween wedding so we figured why bother. All the neighbors thought we were sick cause we did not put anything up. Can’t wait to see your decor.
Haha! I love the way you say pecan. That’s how I say it. I agree with your husband about the blow ups. I’ve been putting effort into our yard and some of our neighbors have blowups. I drove by and was like kinda jealous because it’s no effort and easy to put away. Where I have all this stuff to put up after the season lol. Yes to the spider! Thanks for today’s article 😊
The Venus fly-trap monsters are the coolest Halloween DIY I’ve ever seen I think! One tiny little thing – if you paint the insides black then the pole won’t show as much. You could also paint the pole itself with matte paint so it won’t be shiny and it would disappear even more. Edit: Sorry I should wait until the end of the article before commenting: The haunted house also looks amazing! And I have a suggestion for it too. If you get some sort of clear plastic sheet, (maybe Dollar Tree has some frames that have thin plexiglass instead of glass? Or hard plastic packaging from something would work too, like what their glue dots come in) and sponge paint Elmer’s glue on, let them dry, they would be perfect to make the windows have a frosted look to diffuse the lights so the windows would just look all spooky and glowing.
Halloween is my daughter’s favorite holiday. After my husband passed away we lost all our holiday decorations in our move. She didn’t want to celebrate any more until I showed her this tutorial . We both love everything you created especially the moving mop and the Hocus-pocus decorations. Thank you for sharing 💜
Bethany, you’ve probably got the most creative mind, of all the crafters! And, there are crafters on YouTube who are genius! You come up with such great ideas. Not only that, but you pull it all together perfectly. Even if you get ideas from somewhere else, you put your own twist on your projects that are amazing! Thank you for sharing all of these ideas with us!
New subscriber here. My decorating style has been called Eclectic Cozy. I’ve been repurposing junk from flea markets and yard sales from way back (My fav was a Mary Engelbreit chair I reupholstered & painted) So finding like-minded creatives like yourself is like taking a trip to the fun park! What I love most about the DIY community is there’s always something new to learn. I’m more harvest than Halloween but your DIY’s are incredible! The toy houses would be a great idea for craft time with the Littles. This way he gets a gingerbread house he can keep for next year and I get a kid that isn’t bouncing off the walls with sugar – Go me! He gets very excited about spending his piggy bank at the dollar store. Can’t wait to take him on a new craft adventure!

Girl – this article was the very best Halloween diy that I’ve EVER seen and I spend an obscene amount of time daily on YouTube and Pinterest searching for things to make. I’ve got a few hundred thousand pins saved on Pinterest and all of the diy’s on this article blow everything I’ve ever seen out of the water!!! You should have a TV show for real – and not just for diy’s that you’ve done but also for your organization ideas too. If not a TV show, then you should have a business selling the items you make for sure!! I wish I could come up with the ideas you do – the foam board house, the Venus fly traps & the moving broom were some of my favorites! You’ve got such a creative, imaginative brain & I’m so jealous! I can copy anything I see but I wish I could come up with original ideas instead. Your website has become my #1 go to for ideas and you truly are the dollar tree queen Bethany!! Thank you so much for sharing your incredible talents & creativity with us. I’m obsessed with crafting and diy’s and I look forward to each article that you post. Thank you so much!! P. S. If you still live near Chicago, we are kinda neighbors! I live close to the campus of Notre Dame in South Bend – small world!
I love Halloween decorations. This year you have outdone yourself. The Venus Fly Trap plants are fantastic. The broom going through the house on the RC car is inspired. I’ve never seen another crafter do anything like that. The haunted house, the skull stacks, all of the other things you created are amazing. Your work is unique and stunning.
Hello beautiful talented Bethany and happy Tuesday that color looks amazing on you! That is a genius idea with the car and so cool! You are phenomenal at these unique pieces. Looks like little shop of horror. Omg that haunted house is the bomb!!! Candy corn awesome! You are so uniquely talented Bethany thank you so much for this inspirational article. Have a blessed week.
Every year my house is the “witch’s house” in the neighborhood for all of October and of course, Halloween. I’m the only one who does that theme. I’m going to make the skull table for my candy cauldron this year and also making the poison apples! You’re always so creative! Thank you! I’m so excited! 😊

Just happen across you on YouTube. I got into the arts when I was three years old- my mom showed me how to draw a oak tree. I’m sixty now so I have done it all my life. mostly pen& ink and pencil with some painting. So I know some of what I speak. I use to think crafters were just that, but you are a artist and I am really impressed. I saved and subscribed before it even got to the end, and I wait for your next.
I absolutely love the fly traps, that was to clever!! This will be a must do with my grandangels!!! Thank you for sharing your simple but shick articles, also appreciate your smile and not so serious tone (If you have a hiccup, snafu, mistake, etc.). In our house the saying is ” Don’t sweat the small things””, I just got an aha moment I need to make a sign with our quote!!! Bless you sweet lady and all in these crazy times we live in. Hugs from TX.
I decided to make 2 witch’s brooms. I was very excited about this craft. In the article, Bethany said that you can use the mop handle or buy a dowel. I painted and decorated the mop handle beautifully! I was very disappointed when everything was assembled and it fell over when turned on. The mop handle is too heavy. Now I have to go out again and buy a dowel, paint it (need more paint), and decorate it. Also, if you are using 2 brooms at once, then you have to buy 2 cars of different frequencies. UGH! These crafts are harder than they look!
Bethany once again you’ve thrilled us with some amazing halloween DYI’s. Can’t wait to see what’s up your sleeves for next time. Can’t pick a fave they were all really good. Tough with Hocus Pocus 2 coming out this fall truly hoping to see more inspired DYI’s with a Hocus Pocus theme especially for a tier tray.
Really Cool Halloween ideas 💡 I loved the haunted house so much and I thought they all were very well done!!! Looks like you and your family have fun with my favorite holiday as much as I do!!! I love Halloween because it’s just a fun time and there is so many ways to enjoy it!!! Great article as always 👻

Can I wear a diy purple witch Halloween costume with some basic bodycon mini black dress, some black purple striped tights, some purple ribbon belt, and some light up purple bat bead necklace to go trick or treating with kids to get some free candy about October 31st,around the neighborhood, and can I use a plastic bag for Halloween candy of trick or treating.
Your “haunted mop/witches broom” is fantastic. My grandkids would love this. I have always had a Halloween gingerbread house, but to make the plastic ones and keep them forever is a fantastic idea. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I can’t wait to host my party this year. Such great ideas. I do want to know where you got the adorable cupcake cookie jar….I want one.!
😱 OMG!!!! You are so creative. I wish I could look at all the stuff at dollar stores I consider junk and see beyond that to what can be done with it to make such awesome, creative decorations. I love Halloween but haven’t really felt like getting all my stuff out to put up around the house and yard but after perusal this I might actually go ahead and do it and maybe try some of your ideas while I’m at it. Thanks 🙏 for the inspiration!
That moving broom was GENIUS ok like I want to go NOW and grab all the parts to make it 🤪🤪 “FEED ME SEYMOUR” those Venus fly traps were EXCEPTIONAL omg I’m OBSESSED OBSESSED OBSESSED I will be ordering the coco liners ASAP just to make them!! You are KILLIN it with your diys, they are bar none INCOMPARABLE, SECOND TO NONE and are surpassing all others 🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️🙇🏻♀️
If you can get your hands on some either metallic or pearlescent watercolour paint, you can level up your potion bottles and make them look truly magical when you shake them. You can get really cheap, and very good quality pearlescent watercolour paint from Michaels. Their Artist’s loft brand is usually a miss for me, but this particular product is even better than some of the other brands I have!
It’s the middle of August and the heat index is at 106°F.. Kinda hard for me to think about of Halloween when it’s so darn hot outside right now. However, those are some pretty cool DIYs for the season. Putting up Halloween decor in the summer..Why not? I put my Christmas tree and holiday decor during Halloween, so.. I can’t wait for fall. Halloween, 🎃 Thanksgiving, 🦃 Christmas 🎄 The most wonderful time of the year.. 😂
I MADE THE HAUNTED HOUSE!!!!! It turned out great! But instead of gluing it together I cut and put the walls together like a puzzle! No glue needed and it was very sturdy! I googled free printable of Hotel Transylvania, printed pictures of the characters, laminated them, and midge podge them in the Windows. I’m taking it to work, I work in a school, and I’m using it as a seek and find decoration. This was hard to build, took a lot of planning and thinking. Difficult to cut, hard on the hands, but soooooo worth it!
Wow! Bethany, your DIYs are always so amazing! And yes thank you Matt, for that awesome coffin! I’m running to DT to see tomorrow if I can find the skeleton and the coffin signs to make one. Bethany, the mop on the battery operated car is absolutely genius, and I love it!! Thank you so much for all these awesome DIYs your amazing girl!! And it’s so great to see how Matt, is always there cheering you on. My hubby is the same, and it’s so wonderful to always have our partners by our side!! 😃♥️🎃🎃
This article was absolutely AWESOME! I love Halloween and Halloween decor so much. It’s really hard to find original ideas anywhere. I have found a col of websites that do elaborate and amazing projects. Your article had the cute Halloween decor as well as some things ppl who don’t have kids at home that might be horrified by their more serious Halloween decor, like me. Thanks so much for sharing.
Hello. Besides the fact that you have the best DIY‘s I’ve seen in a very long time! Thank you very much I just want you to know that you have a nice voice. It’s nice that you fluctuate your voice in different ways and it does not get on my nerves whatsoever LOL please continue using the fluctuations of your voice and not sound like a tiny little mouse🤣😃😃❤️❤️❤️ 💯
I ❤️ these! The 3 of us go to our camper the weekend for Halloween. Our camper is on Friends land, few farms down we all have friends. Every year they Have this unbelievable Halloween party. Everyone decorates their vehicle, some set up table and everyone goes everyone goes trick or treating even adults. The kids go around all night till everything is gone. We all try to keep our area as bright as we can, it’s in the middle of nowhere & DARK. Their house is filled food, people eating, little ones eating, playing or sleeping. There’s so much food inside. They make everyone feel at home. This is gonna be great, hopefully. I’m gonna make some of the great ideas you have for my table . I’m going to make some for them. This is great!!!! Just thank you so very much.
You are absolutely my favorite creator with the DIY‘s on YouTube I love everything you come up with thank you for all the great ideas and helping me make my home cozy creepy and comfortable🫶😘 I did your fake pies your Christmas cupcakes and cups with the icing everyone love them that came to my home and I just show them your website👌🏻🫶
Does that fantastic brain of yours get overheated? Does smoke pour from your ears??? It must because you must have all these amazing ideas just pouring out all the time. You are so talented and your items are so well made and can rival anyone’s anywhere! I’m really impressed. Thank you again and I love the houses!!!!!!!! So so much! I’m going to try to make a Halloween and a gingerbread one. Thank you so much for the wonderful ideas!!
I MADE THE BROOM! I re-did my original attempt using the broom handle. It was too heavy for the car. I bought a thin dowel and IT WORKS!!!! I added a ghost wearing a witches hat on top of the broom. This lets me know where the front of the car is when using the remote and it makes it easier to visually follow the the broom as the dowel is so thin. Super cute but the cheap remote car does not have much range with the remote. Also, this would work better with a heavier, better built remote control car, but it would also raise the price significantly.
One suggestion, please consider pulling your long hair back and pin it up. Out of the way. Several people with beautiful long, flowing hair have gotten it caught in fan blades, doors closing etc., With terrible results. I really don’t want anything to happen to you because I have no creative ideas of my own. Take care
Can I wear me a diy skeleton costume with some Black skirt, some Black/white striped tights, and some skeleton Halloween makeup to go trick or treating with kids to get some free candy, about October 31st,around the neighborhood, and can I use a skeleton trick or treat tote bag for Halloween candy of trick or treating.
You would save so much and paint time if you used a coat of primer, then you’d likely only need one coat of paint instead of multiple. Plastic like Dollar Tree toys are made of doesn’t like to take or keep acrylic paint (or even sometimes spray paint will scratch off of it) without a primer, it helps bone the paint to the surface as well as giving you a blank canvas to paint on. Also, spray paint and styrofoam don’t mix! It literally eats the foam! That is why you can see the foam “beads” looking bigger, it is because they are beginning to separate. I get being in a hurry but you should mention to people perusal that it would be better to paint with an acrylic.
I’m sure as this garden was your start on your YouTube website that it’s bitter sweet like you said to Say good bye to it. One thing I’m surprised of, with so many shortages and/or increase costs of garden supplies lately, that you wouldn’t take your t-posts or whatever you could. But maybe you won’t use those in the new garden. Your generosity hopefully will be a blessing to the new owners. Can’t wait to follow align with the new house garden plans.
Desert town in California and we are summer year round… it doesn’t get kinda cold tell December and coldest months are like January to April. But still 80 on some days in the “coldest” time. It’s 107 today and has been about that for three months. We are in a drought and heat wave… but it’s dry heat. I don’t know what moist heat is like lol
I live in a city in Mexico, it’s always hot here. Yesturday we had a storm and instead of it being cold for a couple of minutes, the sun appeared and evaporated the water that covered the street. Then, its started a hell thanks to the humidity. Also, the lights go off so we didn’t had an air-conditioning anymore. But, here I am waiting for the next halloween. Thanks for asking!
Omgosh there are so many of these ideas I’m going to do this year. You are so on point! I love the foam haunted house, Halloween Tree, Candy Corn gingerbread house and the coffin if like to try and make like Disney’s Haunted Mansion coffin that has the person try to lift the top off. All is so so cute. Thank you for sharing your wonderful ideas with us every month.
can i wear a regular adult orange witch Halloween costume with orange ribbon belt, some black orange striped tights, and some pumpkin light up necklace to go trick or treating with kids to get some free candy about October 31st,around the neighborhood, and can I use a plastic bag for Halloween candy of trick or treating.
WOW! This is one of the best (if not The Best) Halloween DIY articles I’ve ever seen. The article is full of awesome crafts that look good and are original (not the same 5 crafts I’ve seen for the 100th time). Also everything is super cheap and extra bits and bobs aren’t wasted on some projects (really cool). The last hack your husband thought of was really good, love it. Not to mention I love your attitude and vibe. Thanks for the sp00ky content, keep it up! Happy Halloween!! 🖤🧡
can I make me a diy black cat Halloween costume with black cat t shirt, some black skirt, some fishnet tights, some black shiny glossy boots, some black shiny glossy long gloves, some spooky cat light up necklace, and a costume accessories to go trick or treating with kids to get some free candy about October 31st,around the neighborhood and can I use a black cat trick or treat tote bag for Halloween candy of trick or treating.
