President Donald Trump has been accused of giving away his $400,000 annual salary to the Department of the Interior in 2018, despite his proposal to cut the Interior Department. This is contrary to a viral claim that Trump was not paid during his presidential term while President Joe Biden was in office. Contrary to online claims, Trump’s tax returns do not show whether he donated his salary or not. Multiple federal agencies confirmed they received donations.
Trump has also donated his salary from his first few months in office to the National Park Service, making good on a campaign pledge to forego a presidential salary. He has publicly announced each gift, at least for his first 3½ years in office. Trump is not the first president to donate his salary, with former Presidents John F. Kennedy and Herbert Hoover also doing so. Recent salary donations go to the Health Department. Trump continues to fulfill his 2015 campaign promise that he will forgo his salary.
Trump never announced a recipient of the final $220,000 of his salary, and his post-presidential office has not said where it went. He has also announced his commitment to America’s heroes by announcing his second-quarter salary will be donated to the Department of Homeland Security.

These supposed donations are suspicious for two reasons: 1) The law prohibits donations to individual agencies of the government and for good reason: corruption. The law does allow for donations to the government’s general fund but Trump’s checks are made out to individual departments which is not allowed without Congressional approval and there does not appear to be any record of such approval being given. 2) His gross salary is $400k ($100K per quarter) but his check has taxes withdrawn just like everyone else. He’s an employee of the federal government, not a contractor. His net per year would be about $256K or about $65K per quarter so why is he writing checks for $100K? Either he doesn’t understand about taxes (which seems unlikely) or he’s choosing to donate about 56% more than his salary and just not boasting about it which doesn’t seem like him. The simplest explanation is that he’s claiming to have donated the money but in fact is not. Each department would be unable to deposit those checks so he would get them back but since those departments are run by Trump appointees, they certainly are not going to say anything about it.
How did his hotel “benefit far more” when they donated every dollar in profit they had made from any political event or trumps golf outings. They didn’t make any money. Question when somebody donates to some type of organization isn’t that considered a tax write off and you’re giving it back when you get your Texas is that why it was donated like it was nothing like he was not really ever going to see it.? I believe that he wanted American people to think he was very wealthy he is very broke and that when he does his taxes he gets that money back because he’s made a donation which is tax deductible he gets that money back correct me if I’m wrong

No body need his salary what we need is work for everybody. There a hundreds of charitatives companies that take pic of their fat check. Do you still believe in me when I take article of my self giving couple backs to a homelesss. Come on be realistic and see how the people promote their selfs. wow, alright so where are the millions he owes the government in back taxes? and if you don’t believe he’s committed tax evasion then the income tax check he gets at the end of the year would be dam near 200 grand just from donating to charity. once you are rich it’s surprisingly hard to give away money without making it back.
