SoHo style interior design is a blend of urban chic and artistic flair, originating from the Soho neighborhood in New York City. It is characterized by clean lines, neutral tones, and an industrial vibe, with large white walls capturing natural light and lofts allowing for spacious open floor plans. The Soho House, a private member-only club, is known for its eclectic and cozy aesthetic, juxtaposing contemporary elements.
The Soho House style is characterized by streamlined shapes, clean lines, and contemporary furniture. The main characteristic of any Soho House is how it combines traditional furniture and vintage pieces with custom, contemporary pieces. Houses often draw from the 1920s through the 1930s with velvet armchairs and vintage mirrors, interspersed with modern art splashes.
The Soho Style is all about simplicity and natural materials, such as reclaimed wood, metal, and leather or faux leather, are often used to achieve this look. The original architecture and purpose of the building, as well as the design identity of the community, from time-honoured crafts, are essential to achieving this look.
The interior design is rife with plush velvet seating, throw pillows, drapery, and beyond. The Soho style interior design is complemented by Soho Home Design, an interior design service that pairs customers with a dedicated designer who will cater to their taste.
There is an alchemy to designing so many varied pieces that work so well together without being uniform. By blending styles and references from various sources, the Soho style interior design can create sophisticated and visually striking spaces.

“So much clutter!” I didn’t think it was cluttered at all. It was just full of a lot of amazing things. Some people like to be surrounded by things they love. To some people, that’s “clutter”…if you don’t like it, fine. But some people do. Not every home has to be spotless, everything white, minimalist.
i love it. my old home use to look alot like this. my brothers would come visit & say “whats for sale? it looks like a thrift shop!” thats brothers for you. but after a while it became kind of claustrophobic & such a pain to clean constantly, so i had an estate sale & made a small fortune. lol. in my new place i still collect but now if i add a piece, i give away or sell an old one. its very freeing & i enjoy my things all the more.
Fabulously gorgeous !!! Loved the bit ” nothing too precious”. My/our house also has nothing precious and yet all my items on display are extremely precious to me,as I am sure that yours are to you. Minimalist houses are sooo boring, but perfect for people who don’t have time, flair or creativity. My house constantly changes look,as I’m forever moving things around. It will never be static whilst I am able. Furnishing a home has nothing to do with buying expensive items,I call these show homes. To me a home is about buying things you love, because fashion changes, but the things you love will never date. So my advice is never to follow trends. Be creative and if like me you are a sentimental person, let the sentiment show through in the objects you display. Your house is sublime, every part of it hold interest. Clutter? Most certainly not, it’s extremely tasteful !! Hats of to you.
I love this home so much. So full of objects from their travels and oh the creativity! They see life differently and I applaud them for finding solutions for things they need that aren’t the status quo -eg the room dividers made from light catchers. I would much rather go to their home for a drink than an all too white on gray everyday home. Give me a room lady I’m moving in! 🔑 😉
It’s now 2021 and I wonder if this fabulous apt. looks the same. I so love this place as I too love a lot of things that make a house a home. Love all the fantastic things in it, styled so perfectly, it’s so me. Love the bohemian eclectic style and this is one of the places I’ve seen here that’s really a wonder to look at.
Just noticed this is three years ago! Which goes to show how timeless this beautiful home is. My only criticism is 3 minutes and eighteen seconds is ridiculous, you’d probably need three days and eighteen hours to discover and absorb all the treasures and magical back stories, what a love story this loft is! X
