Tidal forces caused the Moon to drift away from Earth in its orbit, slowing its spin and eventually reaching a point where one side was always facing the Earth. This same force continues to influence the Moon and Earth today, as well as the ocean’s tides. Tides are the result of the gravitational tug from the Moon and Sun that the Moon makes a complete orbit around Earth in 27 Earth days. The Moon orbits the Earth because of the Hill Sphere, a volume of space where Earth’s gravity dominates over the Sun’s. The Sun exerts a higher gravitational pull on the Moon, but the Moon orbits.
The path of the Earth-Moon system in its solar orbit is defined as the movement of this mutual center of gravity around the Sun. Consequently, Earth’s center veers inside and outside the solar orbital path during the Moon’s orbit. The Moon plays several important roles, such as stabilizing the tilt of our orbit, causing seasonal changes, influencing tides, and aiding in the Moon’s rotation.
The Moon orbits Earth in the prograde direction and completes one revolution relative to the Vernal Equinox and the stars in about 27.32 days. This interaction creates friction that slows Earth’s own rotation and creates forces that change the Moon’s orbital speed, causing it to move away from Earth. The loss of the Moon directly affects the Earth’s orbit, rotation, and wobble. The slow expansion in the moon’s orbit is a result of its role in Earth’s tides.
The Moon’s orbit and Earth’s spin are consistent with the Giant Impact hypothesis, which adds rotational energy to the Earth-Moon system. As the Moon orbits Earth, different parts are in sunlight or darkness at different times, and the changing illumination is why the Moon goes away from Earth.
📹 Moon Phases Demonstration
Emily Morgan, author of Next Time You See the Moon, takes you through the phases of the Moon in a demonstration that will be …
What is the Moon’s interior?
The Moon’s core, primarily iron and nickel, is relatively small compared to Earth’s cores. Above it are the mantle and crust, which differ in composition, suggesting the Moon was primarily composed of a magma ocean. As the magma ocean cooled, crystals formed, and denser mantle minerals like olivine and pyroxene sank to the bottom. Lighter minerals floated to the surface to form the Moon’s crust. The lunar mantle, which is 1350 km thick, is deeper than the crust, which has an average thickness of 50 km. The lunar crust is thinner on the side facing Earth and thicker on the side facing away, but researchers are still exploring the reasons behind this.
How does the Moon affect people on Earth?
A 2013 study found that people spend 30 minutes less in NREM sleep and sleep for 20 minutes less around the full moon, which is associated with decreased levels of melatonin. Another study in 2021 compared sleep patterns of rural indigenous communities in Argentina and college students in Seattle, finding that participants slept less and went to bed later in the days leading up to a full moon when there was more natural light available after dusk. This suggests an innate adaptation from our ancestors who likely slept less and conducted more work when there was more natural light available.
Research into the reproductive cycles of fish and marine animals has shown that some fish migrate and spawn according to the lunar cycle, while some species increase their activity during a full moon when the moonlight is brightest. However, measurements for humans are not yet clear.
How is the interior of the Moon similar to Earth?
NASA-led researchers have discovered that the deepest interior of the moon shares structural similarities with Earth, suggesting that the lunar core contains a small percentage of light elements like sulfur, similar to elements in Earth’s core. The lunar interior could hold clues to its ancient origins. The team applied new technology to old Apollo seismic data and reanalyzed it using modern methodologies, detecting that the Moon has a core. The findings, published in Science, reveal an iron-rich core with a solid inner ball nearly 150 miles in radius and a 55-mile thick outer fluid shell.
The Moon’s deepest interior, particularly whether it has a core, has been a blind spot for seismologists due to the noisy seismic data from old Apollo missions. Other information has inferred the presence of a lunar core, but details on its size and composition were not well constrained.
How has the Moon affected our history?
The Apollo program was a source of great excitement for astronomers, as it offered them the unique opportunity to explore the moon’s surface. This surface, devoid of a substantial atmosphere, preserves over four billion years of solar system history, allowing for the observation of a vast array of geological features and phenomena.
What keeps the Moon in orbit around the Earth?
The Earth’s gravitational force on the moon maintains its circular orbit, yet it does not exert any work on the moon. The interaction between the Earth and the Moon, which maintains the Moon’s revolution around the Earth, is a constant force.
What causes the Moon to move in an orbit around Earth?
In the absence of the Earth, the Moon would be in a circular orbit around the Sun, due to the Moon’s gravity. This is because the Moon and Earth both orbit the Sun.
How do you think the Moon has affected the evolution of life on Earth?
The moon’s gravitational force has a significant impact on life through tides, which can expose and cover land at the ocean’s edge, encouraging life to adapt and move from the oceans to land. The Institute of Physics in the UK states that weaker tides due to the moon’s absence would have narrowed the intertidal zone, increasing competition for survival among species. Historically, extreme tides occurred due to Earth’s spinning more rapidly, eroding coastal areas and adding minerals to the oceans, which have been essential for life’s rapid evolution.
How did the Moon form in Earth’s orbit?
The Moon’s formation is a complex process with various theories. Capture theory suggests the Moon was a wandering body, while the accretion hypothesis suggests it was created alongside Earth. The fission theory suggests Earth’s spinning caused material to break away and orbit the planet. The giant-impact theory suggests the Moon formed during a collision between Earth and another small planet, similar to Mars.
The debris from this collision collected around Earth to form the Moon. The lunar meteorite Dar al Gani 400, discovered in Libya in 1998, and moon rocks from the Apollo missions provide further insights into the Moon’s formation.
Does the Moon affect the Earth’s atmosphere?
Atmospheric tides cause energy flows and changes in atmospheric pressure, which were first detected in 1847. The Moon’s gravitational forces cause bulges and oscillations in Earth’s atmosphere, similar to those seen in water. These changes are linked to higher air temperatures, lowering humidity and the chance of rainfall. Lower pressure results in cold, wet weather, while higher pressure leads to calmer, more pleasant weather.
However, the Moon’s influence on precipitation via atmospheric tides is small, as other factors like Sun heat have a much greater effect. Researchers at the University of Washington reported that lunar forces do affect rainfall by around 1.
What two factors keep the Moon in orbit around the Earth?
Newton’s theory of orbital motion posits that the Earth and the moon are in orbit around the sun due to the interplay of inertia and gravity.
How does the Moon affect the Earth’s orbit?
The Moon’s gravitational pull maintains Earth’s tilt relatively stable, acting as a training wheel for its journey around the Sun. It keeps Earth’s axis pointed at a consistent angle, preventing fluctuations in the Earth’s stately progression through spring, summer, fall, and winter. The Moon’s gravitational pull tugs on Earth’s nearest portion, causing Earth’s crust to rise slightly and small tides in ponds and lakes like the Great Lakes. Earth’s oceans and atmosphere lift many feet in response to this tug.
As the Moon orbits Earth, it drags a “bulge” in the oceans behind it. The Moon’s contribution to Earth’s tides is significant because it is so close to the Sun, which also exerts a powerful gravitational pull on Earth. However, the difference between the Sun’s gravitational pull on Earth’s near and far sides is much less, with the Sun contributing only about a third of the tides’ height.

Actually I am 49 still can’t understand how does the moon sees round in shape from our planet Earth and sometime my children asked me but throught your website I now understand what exactly does moon work, thanks you so much ma’am.Lots of love and care from my family, Imphal Manipur 🇮🇳. North East India.
When she places the white ball between her head and the light, she says it is no moon day as there is no light on the moon. And then the crescent moon appears. But this time earth is facing the sun which means day time in the earth. What about the the darker side of the earth which normally witnesses moon ? We only see crescent moon during the night and not during the day time. Something is wrong in this explanation .
In this demo, Emily hold the moon model above her head throughout her explanation. So, she is demonstrating that the moon must either revolve in some plane but either above or below the obstruction of the earth, otherwise the earth would totally eclipse the moon every revolution. This would mean most everyone on the side of the earth not facing the sun, won’t be able to see the moon because of the shadow cast over the moon by the earth. It’s like as if there are two ‘new moons’ for each revolution around the earth instead of one ‘new moon’. This demo is not the complete story of what’s going on. I’m still in the dark, so, can someone politely explain the anomaly I observed while perusal Emily Morgan’s otherwise flawed or half explanation please? Someone from the National Science Teachers Association or Emily herself preferably.
I am 43 years old from india. Working in the accounting field. My daughter is so excited to learn about space and various things outside the earth. I never bothered about the phases of the moon so long. When my daughter, 10 years old, is seeing the moon thru her telescope and shares glimpses of crates and stuff to me. The phases of the moon thing always bothered me so much that I cannot grasp why it is happening the way it is. My daughter explained effortlessly but I couldn’t grasp anything. Your article enlightened me… thank you…
On behalf of all the people here to try and actually learn something, I apologise for all the idiots leaving comments about science being fake. As a teacher I can honestly say that myself and my comrades tried, we really did, but some people are just beyond our help. I tried to teach someone about binary once. I asked her what one plus zero was. She said three. Unfortunately this is the level of intellect we are dealing with
Awesome explanation! But I have a question that perhaps I’m overthinking a bit, but I’m having difficulty making sense of the angles. If you pause at 1:24 (New Moon) and look at the thumbnail view on the bottom left, we can see that she is facing toward the sun, meaning it would be daylight where she is. This means that the dark side of Earth (where it is night) is facing away from the sun and the moon. Now, as the moon slowly goes to waxing crescent, we see from her view the obvious sliver of moon lit up. But again, this is from the daytime side of Earth. If you pause at 1:39 again in the thumbnail image, the back of her head represents night time on Earth. So how would we be able to see the crescent moon if on the night side of Earth we are facing away from both the moon and the sun? Wouldn’t we just be looking into dark space?
Two problems: Your head isn’t rotating as the earth does, how do we see the moon in the daytime and nighttime of the same 24 hour rotation? The moon takes 27 days to orbit, meaning it would take 13 days to be seen on the opposite side of the earth to every one day of earths rotation. On those days we see the sun and moon in the same sky, how can it be in an opposing phase when full sunlight is being exposed to it. And; where is the shadow of the earth on the moon when the earth is between the moon and sun? You are holding the moon too high, meaning the orbit of the moon is around the North pole, this can’t be, because the Southern hemisphere would not see the moon at all then, the earth would block the moon especially when the tilt of the earths Southern hemisphere is toward the sun, (summer in the Southern hemisphere). This experiment makes NO sense at all.
First of all the angles between the sun earth and moon are all wrong … Shouldn’t it be a straight line ? Does the the moon orbit the earth way above it like she’s got her arm stuck up ? How do you see the moon at all on the nite side of earth until it makes its way to the back side? When they are all aligned with the moon behind the earth how could you possibly have a full moon? How is it that I have seen a full moon during the day? None of this is logical.
Ma’am could you please explain me as well. The sun and the moon both rise and set. So the question which I asked you earlier to which you replied but still I didn’t understand that when moon is in the East then where is the sun and vice versa? In your demonstration you told that sun is at one place only which is absolutely correct but the sun seems to be moving to us. If on full moon day the moon is in the east only then sun’s light would fall on the moon and for that the sun has to be in the west but according to your explanation the sun is always in the east so I’m unable to understand the position of the sun and the moon. Sorry for bothering you but please give me an answer to it with demonstration! Thankyou
The new moon explanation confused me at first…the demonstration is actually showing a solar eclipse, which is the only time we can see the new moon. The new moon crosses the sky in the daytime, but at an angle that casts a shadow into space most of the time, otherwise we’d expect to see a black disk in the daytime sky like the demonstration. The new moon isnt “invisible” in the night sky because the sun is behind it, it isnt in the night sky at all during this phase. Did I get it right?
Hello everyone, Here I would like to share with you a teaching method for moon phase changes in our class: Taking each student as the perspective of the earth, The teacher took a model of the bright side of the moon and circled the earth counterclockwise. It doesn’t have to be a circular track (If there is enough space, go around a circle)/If there is not enough space, go around a rectangular track. It also allows students to watch the changes in the phases of the moon. Please give me more advice, here is the article: youtube.com/watch?v=QHgNIUxKVXA ps: The right side of the article is an overhead view of a classroom. First draw or write a sun on the blackboard to represent the light source.
It would be very interesting if the same story were shown by the lunar changes according to the calendar exactly after 6 months, when the earth and the moon will be in opposition of the current picture with the sun. From which side will the moon begin to rise. Your model is excellent for such a display. It would be very instructive. I ask this because the calendar shows exact repetitions of the phases of the moon – regardless of the position in the circle around the sun. Thank you very much. Greetings from Slovenia
Pretty good, my only beef with this article is it looks like the new moon was a solar eclipse. It’s true that a solar eclipse happens during the new moon phase, but it should be noted that the moon’s orbit around the sun is not in the same plane as the earth’s orbit around the sun and so their isn’t a solar eclipse during every new moon and there isn’t a lunar eclipse during every full moon.
Hi, When there is a new moon, side of the earth face the sun(experiencing day) can see the moon, then what about the other side of the earth ( experiencing night) they not exposed to the sun light. At night how we see the new moon (after 2 or 3 days ) without exposing to the sunlight at earth side facing night In case of full moon (after 2 or 3 days ) the earth experiencing night can able to see the full moon because of reflection What if in case of new moon (after 2 or 3 days ) at the side of earth experiencing night If we can able to see the moon means why we won’t see the sun at night during new moon (after 2 or 3 days ) Note :(after 2 or 3 days ) – between new moon and waxing crescent moon
Nice demonstration…shame it couldn’t have been in a pitch black room (black walls, etc). Still… camera by your shoulder explains it well! I think an orbit lasts 29.5 days, when compared to the position to the sun…that’s why, even when February has 29 days… it’s impossible for there to be 2 full moons in that month. Simply can’t work.
My recent study of Sound: Sound is responsible for everything you experience with all of your senses. It’s responsible for colors and light we see. It can enhance the taste of foods, it can create barriers for protection and can even help heal our physical bodies and repair our DNA. Did you know you can connect a speaker to a light bulb and use sound to produce enough energy to light the bulb. Knowing how a triangle when struck can resonate a sound frequency, think of the shape of an obelisk. Notice how the top looks like a pyramid if it was still buried under sand. Now also take into notice how our pyramids always seem to resonate a sound frequency. Remember our pyramids actually goes farther into the ground than just to the base of the pyramid. Now, did you know you can also create light using water and sound. The sound frequency creates an air bubble that constantly collapses into itself causing a fusion reaction inside the bubble giving off light know as sonoluminescence . Acoustic levitation also uses sound to levitate objects into place using sound waves to counteract gravity or can be used in locking objects into a constant state of suspension like a barrier. Take this into consideration as well, tuning forks trained to 42 hertz when struck will resonate other 42 hertz forks to ring together, but it won’t work if it’s of different frequencies. Remember that there are buried “pyramids” or obelisks all over the world, including the oceans, that are stationary and never move.
That’s a really cute demonstration, but there are a few problems with this model that might not occur at first glance… I’ll phrase them as questions since I’m not claiming to know any better. 1. When shining a light on a spherical object, there is always a highlight point that is formed on the part of the sphere that is facing the source of light. This can be clearly seen at 1:08 – 1:14, 1:54 (on the seam of the ball) and 2:39 (completely “burning” the left hand side of the ball). If the Moon is indeed a sphere, why don’t we ever see such a highlight? This should be mostly visible during the full Moon but alas, it is always uniformly lit across its surface, more in line with the way a flat object would reflect. 2. There are instances when the Moon can be clearly seen throughout the day, sharing the sky with the Sun. That means that from our perspective, the Sun and Moon are roughly in the same direction. How can the sun illuminate the side of the Moon that is facing us in such cases? Shouldn’t we see a shadowy silhouette of the Moon in those times? 3. A little known fact about Moonlight, not directly connected to its phases, but since we’re on the topic… Moonlight behaves exactly the opposite from Sunlight when it comes to its temperature… meaning, when measuring temperature during daytime, it will always be hotter in direct sunlight than in its shadow. When measuring at night time, the temperature of direct Moonlight is always colder than its shadow. If Moonlight is indeed a reflection of Sunlight, why does it have completely different properties?
Terrific! Please explain why you see a FULL MOON even when the moon (which is much smaller than the Earth) is behind the Earth – blocking the rays of the Sun from hitting it! (REALLY?) (Hint: It’s below or above each of the poles in its orbit around the Earth – so it’s NEVER really blocked by the Earth, EXCEPT when there is a lunar eclipse. That’s for another lesson….
The phases of the moon do not have an even percentage of fullness etc. if the moon is travelling always at the same speed the percentage should be even. But they jump around a lot. An interesting fact most don’t know. The earth spins from west to east and the moon orbits the earth from west to east. The moon only appears to be travelling east to west due to the different speeds of the earth and the orbit of the moon.
You should not holding the moon while rotating. Rotating means one day. Tge change of phase is per day, it means you will be revolving around the lamp after one rotation and the phase will be change for approximately 30 days or your 30 rotation. Then approximately quarter of a year or approx 365 days can be observe the cycle of the moon. Better observations to the lighthouse.
The other phase looks logical. Regarding the full moon, how the moon catches and reflect the light from the sun when the earth (about 4x bigger than moon) is blocking the light of sun to the moon (when back of yr head is facing the light bulb)? Unless the moon orbiting around earth is not along the equator level, orbiting above north pole level.
That’s great in looking straight on, but the earth is 6x the size of the moon. Why wouldn’t the moon appear different from various places on earth? Like during a half moon, those in the south would see the lower half lit up while those in the north would see the northern half lit up. But the ENTIRE earth sees the same thing.
Next teach how the sun looks bigger when low on the horizon. And why the moon changes color while low on the horizon. People have asked me this. And I explain that the moon looks bigger while low because you now have references on the horizon to judge it’s actual size. And the moon looks red and changes colors as it gets higher. Because the sunlight reflected from the moon. Is now being seen from a lower perspective. As the light from the moon goes through more of the earth’s atmosphere. Which refracts and slows the light down to a lower wavelengh which can be seen as red light.
Can you make some eclipse demonstration as well? Mine doesn’t work. As I’m trying to demonstrate by this way the eclipses, the shadow on my moon (by my “earth”) doesn’t behave the same way as seen on moon by natural eclipse. I can see some shadow “S” shape disruptions 🤔 on my moon which are not seen normally on real moon while eclipse. How is this possible?
The weird part is that there’s no hotspot on the moon like on my plastic spear. The other weird thing is the the unlit portion of my plastic ball never becomes invisible like the moon. The demonstration also doesn’t work at night when we should be getting the same reflection. Otherwise, great demonstration.
During the new moon i was expecting the shadow of the moon to be somewhere on the earth 🌎 but there was none And at the full moon 🌕 i expected the shadow of the earth to cover the entire moon or at least part of it but again none. So my question is, is the moon transparent? or is the earth transparent?
When we see the moon behind the Earth, is it a blood moon and it’s just so rare that we rarely see it? Or wouldn’t the moon since it is orbiting Earth, go behind the earth more often and not receive light from the sun? Doesn’t the Earth put its own shadow on the moon sometimes or is it just too far away that it is too rare for that to happen more usually?
“Earth’s unique position in the solar system…” “Earth’s unique distance from the sun.” ” Earth is the only known place in the universe…” “As the only world known to harbor life…” Yes, Nat Geo calls it unique. But really it’s God’s precision that made Earth habitable. One degree off and Earth instantly becomes like out neighboring planets; uninhabitable. Why don’t we give God the credit for His creation, we who are equally part of that creation? Let ye who have ears, hear.
i just fine it crazy that in an unimaginable large universe, we are the only world that can harbor life. it just seems impossible that we are the only planet that got lucky to obtain all the right conditions for life to consist. big i’m not complaining, it just proves we are the best planet out there. 🌎
It makes me sad to think people think this all just happened. Each flower, plant, insect, animal all have unique DN. It is like saying the most complicated computer would somehow just appear in the woods if given a few billion years. There is too much design to deny a Designer. Even Einstein agreed with that. Takes way more blind faith to think everything created itself.
Not for nothing but earth 🌎 looks beautiful from space. I mean, compared to the other planets you can deny its beauty. Even if I live in another planet I would still say Earth is the most beautiful piece of rock in the universe. Sadly, we don’t take care of it. Old Earth pictures compared to the ones now, wow.
I know a lot of people hate this planet because of what we have done to it but I look at the beautiful side. There are fascinating land scapes throughout the whole world. Mountains, forests, rain forests, deserts, plains, valleys, volcanoes, oceans, islands, an so much more that we haven’t touched. Then there are the beautiful structures that we have made. Now factories that cause pollution, yes that is sad but we need it to survive and support us with materials though. However humans were not the worst thing to happen. The Earth is glorious with it’s nature and how our cities go with it. The Great Wall of china, Eiffel Tower, vineyards in Italy, the great pyramids, huge statues. temples, and shining cities.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا ۖ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاءِ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ ۖ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ) ( Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe?) – Holy Quran ( Quran is 1400 years old) 30 Al-Anbiya’
“Earth is the only known place in the universe with liquid water”. That’s because we don’t have the ability to investigate detailed features of planets in other star systems due to their enormous distance. Certainly in our own solar system there are many space bodies with water. Mars is believed to have water on it’s poles and some moons specifically Europa contain enormous quantities of water even though it’s frozen. Water is only liquid within a very narrow temperature range. I’m not sure what NG is trying to imply.
Earth – the third planet from the sun -the largest of the terrestrial planets – the Earth is the only planet in our solar system not to be named after a Greek or Roman deity -The Earth was once believed to be the center of the solar system (GEOCENTRIC MODEL) -(HELIOCENTRIC) – said that sun is the center of solar system – The Earth is the densest planet in the solar system.
Life emerging on earth “by chance.” “By chance” is not a scientific statement but a metaphysical opinion; that lies outside the scope of its method and area of competence. I am not, by the way, a “fundamentalist” but I resent the intrusion of non-religious dogma where it has no competence, masquerading behind “science.”
There are over 5,000 solar systems in the Milky Way alone. Whilst I appreciate not all solar systems are the same, if only one in five has a planet a similar distance as Earth from it’s Sun, that’s 1,000 planets with the potential to support life. Add to that, there’s around 125 billion known galaxies, other life is definitely out there, just beyond our capabilities to explore.

This is a mostly good informational about Earth (however there are other planets with liquid water and life, although without the technology, it’s not readily verifiable and I understand the need to not feel like you’re speculating on an educational article), it’s so amazing to think for most of its history, the dominant life forms were single-cell microbes.
No words to say. It’s a miracle! My life, my existence, the earth 🌎, the other planets, the universe and all the creatures are miracle. Thank you for this kind of information. I love perusal this kind of article. I wish I had been taught this kind of things at school, so studying would not have been boring.
Like how the people in this saying “This is the only planet that can support life” bruh this universe is hella big to us we’re atoms maybe smaller the chances of there not being any other planets that can support life is like 1 in 5 billion the only reason we don’t know is because we don’t have the technology on the transport to get there
0:07 God- “Chance? Haha I’m I a joke to you?” Think about it people how are we so lucky to have life and for many other animals to even exist? This world is too complex to have not been made by God. Other planets are simple with just like 4 gases and boom it’s done but God took the time to make everything perfect here! Jesus is the only way to life!
Earth originally had gravity similar to Mars, that’s the gravity dinosaurs lived in. In today’s gravity, its impossible for dinosaurs to survive as they will get crushed under their own colossal weight. Earth gained gravity due to increase in mass and charge when Earth was captured by the Sun from Saturn. Saturn was once a brown dwarf star Earth orbited. Check article “Wal Thornhill: The Star ‘Proto-Saturn’ | EU Workshop”.
I love Earth. It might be a rock, but it is our rock, and a beautiful one at that. Nonetheless, as humans it is our duty to ensure that Earth does not for long remain the sole refuge of life, as sadly our great world’s death is guaranteed, and the position of the creatures it provides for ever precarious.
We haven’t even scratched the surface of this planet when it comes to knowing it. All the unknown ocean, ice, mountains, islands, caves and other areas. Not to mention we’ve only seen the bright side or part of the bright side of the moon. Then there’s made and Venus with their moons we are yet to scratch. I think we can make both habitable planets or somewhat habitable and move on having three planets to live on. We can do it and we all know the funds are there no one has the balls to do so. Honestly if someone have me a ship and whatnot I’d do it.
coalesce into Germany, occupied most of Central Europe. The House of Habsburg was still a major political force, and its empire, known as the Habsburg or Austro-Hungarian Empire, spread over a vast area of around 250,000 square miles, even if it no longer included Spain, after the Bourbons had taken over the Spanish throne in 1700. In terms of population, it was the third-largest state in Europe and comprised one-seventh of the population of Europe. In the late eighteenth century the Habsburg lands included, in the west, what is today Belgium, then known as the Austrian Netherlands. The largest part, however, was the contiguous block of lands based around Austria and Hungary, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia to the north, and Slovenia, Croatia, and large parts of Italy and Serbia to the south. To the east it also incorporated much of what is today Romania and Poland. Merchants in the Habsburg domains were much less important than in England, and serfdom prevailed in the lands in Eastern Europe. As we saw in chapter 4, Hungary and Poland were at the heart of the Second Serfdom of Eastern Europe. The Habsburgs, unlike the Stuarts, were successful in sustaining strongly absolutist rule. Francis I, who ruled as the last emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, between 1792 and 1806, and then emperor of Austria-Hungary until his death in 1835, was a consummate absolutist. He did not recognize any limitations on his power and, above all, he wished to preserve the political status quo.

There is a special little planet called Earth. It’s green and blue. It’s amazing full of life with trees and birds and seas and you! Third planet from the Sun. Where all life has its birth. Look left, look right, look down, look all around. What you see is planet Earth! There is a special little planet called Earth. It’s green and blue. It’s amazing full of life with trees and birds and seas and you!
1 Corinthians 15:1-4 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Surely knowledge is absolutely different from wisdom & understanding. ( seriously you call all these and beyond ‘CHANCE.’) Look at mere eclipses, the distances need to be precise with not even the tiniest fraction of error (distances)to achieve it, ‘is that chance’, look at the instruction manual DNA, Is that ‘chance’
I also don’t believe in creation Because they said that everything on the earth have creator! But evolutionist said that we are from simple particle! So we cunclode that who is true Because if we have creator who is the creator of this creator? It’s weird! But I believe that Space, Life and Time can not be explain or define anymore
How old is the planet earth? It’s about 4.6 billions years old am I right? Earth is the only planet with life on it it’s all in the water and it has 195 counrtries around the world but Mars is the 4th planet from the sun but you can’t stay on the red planet because it has no life there are some robots looking for other creatures but there are just rocks and soils and the sky is pink and red and the sun looks tiny in the martian sky and it has sandstorm interesting.
Just the right distance from our Sun. Not too hot, not too cold and it is what we call Life. I’m so amazed to witness the diversity of Earth. Millions of species and yet humans still ruining the beauty of it. Anyway, they didn’t mentioned where the name earth came from and it is not sounds like a Greek God
It is God* Who has made for you the EARTH as a resting place, and the SKY as a canopy, and has given you shape – and made your shapes beautiful, – and has provided for you Sustenance, of things pure and good; – such is God your Lord. So Glory to God, the Lord of the Worlds! He is the Living ( One ): there is no god but He: call upon Him, giving Him sincere devotion. Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds! Holy Quran, chapter 40; Ghafir ( Forgiver/ The Believer) verse 64 & 65. * God = Allah SWT.
