In Sim Settlements 2, industrial plot production can be improved by assigning Settlers with higher Strength. To train up your Settler, assign them to a Recreation Plot that trains Strength. Indoor plots have a smaller footprint than outdoor 2×2 plots, especially when building vertically. To power interior plots in Sim Settlements, you can place turbine rooms and power radiators in the power conduits added by contraptions dlc.

The Sim Settlements 2 power system works with the vanilla system/settlement power grid, with indoor plots having a much smaller footprint than outdoor 2×2 plots. To prevent settlers from building useless duplicate stations, you must designate your Logistics Station plots manually. Plant Layout and Facility Software is an easy choice for creating facility plans online.

Connecting a generator to a structure using a conduit on the outside of it should work. Interior Plots have a breaker box on the right side of their back wall and use passive power. The “For Rent” sign will appear on the breaker box.

In Sim Settlements 2, Industrial becomes one of the most important plot types, with the addition of building, upgrade, and City Plan costs. Plots come in several different sizes (1×1, 2×2, etc.) and are used to implement or build building plans. This add-on pack for Sim Settlements 2 adds 20 new industrial plots to the game, along with all of the DLC packs.

To connect a power source to an object, use a copper wire from the generator. In Workshop mode, highlight the generator and click the “Add Wire” button. Move the cursor to the object and connect the wire. The wire should be visible and no longer red. The generator’s proximity to the object is crucial, as too close may cause the wire to not connect. How many settlers can you have in Sim Settlements 2?

In a Communication plot, the settlement’s recruitment cap is set to the number of available beds, and if there are 23 beds, the settlement will recruit up to 23 people. However, manually sending settlers over is still subject to the CHA+10 rule. SS2 unique settlers are exempt from the recruitment cap and bypass the CHA+10 rule when prompted for a settlement to send them to. Once they are at a settlement, trying to send them to a different one is still subject to CHA+10.

If the city plan is in effect, upgrading the city level or removing the city plan will either raise the recruitment cap or remove the city plan. If there are only 16 beds in the settlement, building more beds or scrapping the Comms plot will help reset the settlement to the CHA+10 rule.

  • I realize that this article is now two years old, but I wanted to say that as a newcomer to Sim Settlements 2, I am really glad that i found the few articles that you did on how it all works. I dove into SS2 having never played the original Sim Settlements, and although it is made clear that a lot of things have changed, after struggling my way through my first playthrough of SS2 I am left with the feeling that there is an assumption that the player is supposed to be acquainted with a lot of things about building without needing an explanation. I spent quite a bit of time with the SS2 wiki, and with a lot of articles that were supposed to clarify things, and found that very few of them were actually helpful. A lot of the articles were just about using cheats and console commands to make the story work without actually explaining how things were supposed to be. I found your articles to be clearer and simple enough to help even a dense person like me get a better understanding of how the mod works. I do wish you had continued. I struggled terribly with building the new HQ when i got there, because I did not find the process intuitive or explained very well at all, and would have loved to have a few articles by you to help me progress easier. However, I do want to thank you for the ones you did made, and to say again that they were a tremendous help to me. You have a very easy and natural way of presenting things that this mod desperately needs!

  • I’ve been using this mod but i can’t find the municipal power pylon or the switch =\\ those first two options arent in the list under power, not sure whats going on but yeah havent found anything searching as well. If anyone knows would be awesome if you could tell me why they are missing but for now the mods awesome also thanks for the vid

  • Biggest issue I have is connecting wires between these plots, even the ones close to each other, just seems like the connect point is way way up high and hard to target on those giant power poles. Thanks for the articles. On a side note, I hate to say that I hate old Paul as much or more than Preston already.

  • With that many mods, have you never run into the issue where Jake doesn’t walk anywhere? In order to get quests to progress I need to leave the zone and come back and he will have teleported to his next location and the quest can continue. It sucks! I think it is the script lag that they just released a patch for, but it didn’t work for me…
