Why is home décor so expensive?

Heritage brands often have a strong reputation and a legacy of manufacturing skills, making high-end home décor more valuable. Early vintage pieces from these brands are worth more due to their quality and craftsmanship. However, vintage or antique furniture doesn’t necessarily have to be designed by a prominent brand. The quality of materials used in these pieces is a significant factor in their price and popularity.

In the past, solid wood and chemically untreated fabrics were the pinnacles of luxury furniture, but today, these materials are less common due to their higher cost. The cost of inferior materials is also higher, as they can be fabricated into similar-looking pieces at a fraction of the cost, but they won’t last as long or be as comfortable.

  • I love when Bethany does this viedos. Over the years she has made beautiful things. I love the round mirrors in the picture frames. This would be beautiful to if you use marble circles out of contact paper. Mix with the mirrors. Even the new wallpapers at dollar tree. I believe I have watched you since 2016. You are awesome and so creative.

  • I think I’ve been perusal you from at least 2016, back when you showed how to make cool shelves from crates and big wall mirrors from picture frames. Your mirrored DIYs were certainly worth showing again because they are so pretty easy to make. A lot has certainly happened since then. Best of luck in 2023 and your new baby girl.💗

  • Just wanted to let you know as a viewer. The Red Cross is suggesting that we stock pile. Some food like canned meats, canned beans, all kinds of canned foods, they said powdered milk but powder milk is so expensive. If you can find it, we use condensed milk in the can and make our own milk for everything and it works perfect. It’s got sugar in it, you don’t have to have sugar then. We’ve done flower and seal jars. We bought a sealer and we did oatmeal. You can grind oatmeal up and make oatmeal flour and make rolls with raisins. In it and it’s very healthy for yjust check with the Red Cross. They’ve got a 15 items that you should have in your stock pile. Peanut butter is now the one. Fruits and vegetables can jelly and jars.We can a lot, so we have canned food. But we need other things from the grocery store like noodles, peanut butter and other things and rice, they suggest rice too.And flour

  • Yes ma’am, I have been perusal your website way back then when you diy only with dollar tree purchases. I have made a picture frame mirrors, mirrors shelves from perusal your websites. Also this was before you got married etc. This day I am still looking for your articles. God bless you and your family

  • I’m sure I’ve been perusal you since 2016, it’s a shame there’s no record of when we’ve joined. Time flies by so fast doesn’t it? Your ideas are so good, unfortunately we don’t have a Dollar Tree or equivalent in England. We’ve got a £1 shop but there’s not much variety there. Anyway I enjoy your articles are really interesting and relaxing. Thanks xxx

  • As always you’re crafting is inspiring! Thanks Bethany! I actually only started YouTube article perusal at beginning of Pandemic in 2019…. And became addicted lol! I’m retired (age 55-health) from my Dance Studio I owned and taught for 24 years! (Daughter now owns and runs it) so I’m taking my crafting skills and making things not Dance related anymore lol 😆

  • You are such a creative person. You also have a wonderful personality. You are also a no nonsense person. I like that a lot. There has been so many things that you have made that I want to do. Today you showed the mirrors with the clear blocks to make a make-up caddie. I know you have done this before. Today was important because I have been making a photo album for my 14 year old great niece. It is called True Friends. She has been being bullied by so called friends. Now 14 is a awful age and I am just trying to help her out on what true friends are. I have like true friends are always there for you. Other things too. If anybody has any sayings to help me with this book, I would sure appreciate it. Anyway her mom has done a complete makeover of her room with what she wanted and she got a vanity. I think the box you made will be perfect. I’m sorry, I know I talk to much. Lol. I’m just really glad this article came out today. Thank you so much.

  • I love your tips!! I am using the butter trays to pre make snacks for my week. Some with veggies as I found my favorite Olive Garden dressing at dollar tree in a 3 pack for single uses. I also got some small plastic cups w lids and did peanut butter & crackers in a few of the butter trays. I am going through some medical stuff and this was perfect to plan on one of my good days & easy to grab on a not so good day. Thanks for the tips & keep up the good work 🥰

  • I have been perusal you for a long time before. You even got pregnant with your baby boy. That’s a long time ago I really do like your d I wish I had to move And I had to leave a lot of my DIY stuff there. It made me so sad, I didn’t have anybody to help me, honey, I’m 77 years old and I just couldn’t do it by myself. Now. I’ve got to buy everything. I still have my drill and I still have my parents. So no, not my parents are my sander. I’m sorry, I still have that. But that’s all I’ve got to start all over again. And i’m on a fixed income so it’s gonna take me a long time

  • The tear trays are really beautiful can’t go wrong with it looking so elegantly and it even knowing if was from the dollar tree store. So unique too! I just started talking you few weeks ago I was curious of who was the biggest organizer YouTuber on google and you’re name popped up and a lot have recommend you too, so glad I subscribed. 💜

  • Loved all these. It seems no one else does this kind of DIY’S. I’m always amazed at what you come up with. I’ve been perusal you since you started. I think you lived with your Dad, maybe? Saw the wedding decor you made, saw the wedding you showed, saw the move in your new house, saw the first pregnancy, the new puppy, I’ve loved perusal your journey….

  • I love your DIY’s. I have been following you for about 2 years or maybe 3. It maybe 3 years, because I followed before you got pregnant with Cooper. You guys moved into your new home. You had Cooper. Now for the rest of the story. My husband passed June 7, will be 5 years. That is when I started surfing YouTube and Facebook more and found all the YouTube creators that I follow. The first two years of his passing, I was in a shell and didn’t do much of anything. My life had been abruptly changed. I was glad I found you and the other creators I follow, because you guys helped me want to get up and do crafts. It was hard. Depression had a total grip on me. Two months after he passed away, I got really sick, and I thought I was having a heart attack. It was my Gallbladder. I had to have surgery for that. One thing and then another. My son got sick. He was having A-Fib. Had to be hospitalized. Doctor thought it was just the stress he had been under. My Mother-in-law died in ICCU, my son’s best friend died in a car accident, two Aunts and then my husband passed. Then Granny Harper passed away a week after my husband. These deaths all occurred in a six month period. Our lies were changed dramatically.

  • I’m going to say I’ve been perusal you from the beginning. When I first saw your creativity I was hooked. ❤️ I can’t really say which onei liked the best in this article because I loved them all, but if I had to choose I’d have to say the tier trays were my favorite. You are such an inspiration. 😊❤️😊

  • I have always loved your mirror projects. I think the vanity mirror was my first favorite then the tiered tray. I first found you many many many years ago when you only had a few subscribers., perusal your make up articles looking on how to do the Smokey eyes 👀 I didn’t even realize how long ago it was. You have always been my Number 1 favorite YouTuber and the first YouTube article I ever watched. I have watched every article you have ever made and a lot of them multiple times. I really enjoyed all the tiered trays and wood projects you did and I have copied many and still do. Yes I remember beautiful Penny and how hard it was for you! RIP sweet girl! I was so excited for you and celebrated every milestone with you! And I will always be here as long as you are! So keep that creative brain going! So excited for the next new addition in your life! Love you Bethany girl Keep on keeping on! 🫵⭐️💗

  • I don’t know when I started perusal you. I didn’t watch when you did makeup articles, but my first article was the crates made into a makeup vanity. I think it was 2016. Yours was the first website I subscribed to. I had a few problems with YouTube removing some of my subscriptions. I’ve enjoyed the way you have taken Dollar Tree products and repurposed them.

  • I attempted the vanity mirror stand today and it was an epic failure. I got everything that was mentioned in this article, except that Home Depot does not have that size wood anymore. They have “1 x 4” 8ft common wood. Then they would not cut the 4 pieces 4.5 inch wood. This wood glue is not sticking. I bought gorilla glue wood glue. A waste of my money. Im done DIY’ng

  • Love this article and loved the article you show in this one. Gosh i cant remember how long.. not long after you stopped doing body art i believe but idk what year.. so much has hapnd thru the years im blessed to still be here perusal BUT got thru a many rough days and nights perusal your articles. God has used you mightily! So excited about babygirl! Our 7th gbb arrived Dec 21st and is now telling her mami how good she is lol.. can hardly wait for cooper to see and hold his baby sister! Its been a beautiful thang at my daughters house to watch hazel may’s siblings love her so much! So happy for yall Bethany. 🙋🏼‍♀️❤🙇‍♀️

  • Oh my gosh! I made a mirror box a couple of years ago and added Christmas/winter flowers and cardinals from Dollar Tree. I gave it to a friend for her family’s gift from me. I’m so stoked to see mirror diys! Bethany, you are so gifted and I sure hope this pregnancy is going better for you now. Congrats lil momma 😊
