This article discusses the use of AKON’s custom-built Clear Porch Tarps for enclosing covered porches for better winter preparation. These tarps effectively block out snow, rain, wind, pollen, and dust, making them ideal for climate control on outdoor structures like patios, bars, pergolas, outdoor spas, and gazebos. They also provide 20mm thick see-through panels for better visibility. The vinyl used in these tarps is designed to insulate against cold and remain stable during strong winds, ensuring comfort during winter.

The tarps are fully customizable with different sizes, layouts, colors, and optional features. They offer superior temperature and noise control, are not cracked in freezing or hot weather, and require minimal maintenance. The tarps are also cost-effective, with a slick surface and minimal maintenance required.

Crushed granite or limestone is an affordable and easy patio solution, offering a smooth, long-lasting area for sitting and dining. To install, mark the patio area, dig out grass and plants, create a flat base, add a perimeter border, and line the space with fabric for weed control. Spread a four- to five-inch layer of angular gravel, tamp it down, and apply polymeric sand to fill gaps between rocks. This natural, rustic look makes crushed stone an attractive, budget-friendly patio surface, and can also serve as the base for later pavers.

How can I make my screened-in porch look better?

Screened-in porches should be furnished with weatherproof furniture to prevent damage from wind, rain, and sun. Choose timeless rattan and wicker pieces, while teak and treated woods add sophistication. Opt for durable outdoor fabrics for upholstered pieces and cushions. Add indoor-outdoor rugs for pattern and color to decks and porch flooring. Add throw pillows, water-resistant ceramic objects, and greenery for a complete look.

How to decorate front porch simple?

To create a complete and uncluttered porch, consider adding simple furnishings like a cushioned wicker chair and a small side table, along with a small area rug for a cozier feel. Pillows can add color and character without making the porch visually heavy, and can be placed on porch swings or other seating. Small front porches can be divided by purpose, such as zones for eating, relaxing, and cooking. For example, the space in front of a door can be used for moving people in and out of the house, while a few square feet can be used for a relaxing conversation nook.

What is the cheapest way to do a porch?

Building a front porch can be affordable by installing a pier footing with standard lumber and simple shed-style roofing with exposed rafters. However, it’s crucial to follow local building codes to avoid inspection fines. A well-built front porch can increase property value by raising appraisals and enhancing curb appeal, but the value depends on the location. Adding a porch doesn’t count as square footage, as most porch types lack insulation and heating. Instead, a fully enclosed space with the same interior quality counts as extra square footage.

  • I am a bit envious of minds that have the ability to be so creative. That, and some of these showed having a partner who would help with projects – unlike my husband who has even less ability to thinking creatively and actually do anything related to making something. LOL! Having said that, I am saving this article for future ideas.

  • Please don’t throw away all these great ideas and good production by playing horrific, bad and annoying music. PLEASE there are many free better soundtracks and many struggling artists who will work free for credit and acknowledgement. I love your articles but, I am left feeling shaken, unhappy and uncomfortable because of the disturbing music.

  • I like most of your ideas. The painted rug on the concrete slab was nice but the concrete really should have been pressure washed first. Also, good job showing that the cinder block and railroad tie bench is all fastened together. I have seen other postings of this idea and some commentors think the blocks are just stacked. Maybe do several longer, more detailed articles for people?

  • The music is up lifting. And I know the free music that is available as background while creating a article is sparce and repetitive. To the person who commented unfavorably … do you have a band that can great a jingle that’s better for free? Un less you can help why put them down? I love all the ideas in this article! Thank you for helping me with my imagination!

  • I am not a fan of placing my potted plants on high spaces. While they look very attractive draped r hanging, I need easy access to my plants. Plants need to be monitored not only for watering routines but also to check for pests and diseases. I eyeball my plants everytime I pass their way. Sometimes it’s easy to overlook some problem even when the plants r close to u- especially if u own a lot of plants.

  • I like this website but it bothers me that the content has been taken from other websites. Please tell me that they are being compensated in some way for the use of all of their hard work. At the very least there should be links to the original websites. Otherwise this stealing and leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. Bad enough that I there will be at least one less subscriber. Pitty. I really do like this website but I do not tolerate poor ethics.

  • My HOA is coming after me about some of my shrubs dying. I’m not angry. I’m just very determined to have the most amazing garden and yard in the city! 😂 Thanks so much for the ideas on a budget! They are all absolutely beautiful. For the first time we are living on a retirement budget. I never knew exactly how hard that would be but things like this bring a little fun back to the table!
