How To Arrange Home Design Rugs On The Wall?

  1. Sew a rugged fabric casing along the top back of your rug, leaving enough space for protective canvas if the rug is fragile.
  2. Choose an appropriately sized curtain rod and insert it through the casing.
  3. Install heavy-duty iron brackets at the precise width required for rod insertion.
  4. Set the curtain rod into the brackets, ensuring it is level for straight horizontal hanging.

A rug hung on a wall is commonly referred to as a wall hanging or tapestry, but it may also be called a rug tapestry or a rug wall hanging. Hanging a rug on a wall can add a unique and interesting design element to a room, transforming its look.

There are several ways to hang a rug on a wall, depending on the size and weight of the rug, the location where it will hang, and your personal preference. Velcro is the preferred method, as most museums and art displays use this material.

To attach your rug to the wall, use hook tape and staple it onto a straight piece of wood that is the same length as the rug. Mount this piece to the wall and attach the rug by connecting the two.

Rugs are often thought of as little more than decorative floor coverings, but their adaptability goes far beyond. They can act as distinctive and eye-catching works of art. There are three fairly easy ways to hang a rug as wall art:

  1. A sliding bar to hang a carpet on the wall like a curtain.
  2. Using carpet tack strips.
  3. Using velcro to hang a rug on the wall is typically the preferred method, as most museums and art displays use this material.

Wall rugs can act as central pieces in a room’s décor, with handmade rugs grace living room walls and displayed behind headrests in bedrooms.

  • Did this last night…so practical. I painted the dowel and will add finials to the ends once I find ones that have the look I want. I used it to hang extra throws (I have an old house with minimal closet space but lots of wall space). I may do a smaller one in my dressing room to hang belts and purses. Great Idea and so easy to do. Thanks.
