The Tesla app offers a feature called “Sentry Mode Live Cam”, which allows owners to view live footage from their car’s cameras in real-time. This feature is available on Model 3 and Model Y, where the dashboard can be accessed through the “Controls” section of the vehicle’s touchscreen. To access the live camera from the Tesla app, users can add the Dashcam icon to the app launcher.
The latest Tesla software update 2021.36.8 includes Sentry Mode Live Cam, which allows owners to see what their cars are seeing when they are in park. Model Y may have a cabin camera located above the rear view mirror, which can determine driver inattentiveness and provide audible alerts to remind drivers to keep their eyes on the road.
To view Tesla cameras from your phone, download the Tesla app, open it, and log in. Sentry Mode Live Camera Access is rolling out, allowing owners to view the interior camera while parked. To enable Sentry Mode, users can tap Controls > Safety > Sentry Mode > View Live Camera via Mobile App on the touchscreen.
The camera app displays views from side cameras, rear-facing cameras, and front-facing cameras. To view the live cabin camera feed, navigate to Controls > Service > Camera Preview after receiving the latest update.

📹 Remote LIVE Access to Tesla Sentry Mode Cameras?! Don’t Make My Mistake! (Phone App Setup & Test)
Don’t miss an important step when setting up Tesla’s new Sentry Mode Live Camera Access. Here’s a quick guide and test. Enjoy!
I have a 2020 Model 3 with Tesla software version 2021.44.25.2 in my car and the most recent iPhone iOS 15.1 and Tesla app software version 4.4.2. But I have still not seen the Remote “Live Sentry Mode” feature in my car or on my phone, even though other Model 3 owners with older releases already have the feature. I know that premium connectivity is required for that feature to work, but my question: should I still be able to see the option in my car touchscreen and Tesla app before subscribe to premium connectivity? I haven’t seen it in any of my software update release notes. I don’t want to subscribe to premium connectivity until I know for sure that the Remote live sentry mode feature will be immediately available to enable there after.
