The integrated design of the article for both aesthetic and functional qualities is a major part of the process. Design services may be performed by the furniture establishment’s work force or purchased from industrial designers.

  • Thank you for showing so much love on our first ever long article, the amount of comments and subs is overwhelming 😭 this really took so much effort to make. 3 months in fact 😂 before this we didn’t even know how to edit on premiere pro, and of course we didn’t know how to build a sofa, so every day was a lesson. Some lessons were more painful than others 😭 we can’t wait to make more YouTube articles, so please subscribe and stay tuned 🙌🏾🙌🏻 If you’re searching for more of our long articles – they don’t exist 😂😂 you can stay up to date with us on Instagram & TikTok @bricks.and.disorder🫂

  • I am a woodworker and have done a lot of upholstery in school. I just graduated from MCAD (Minneapolis college of art and design) through their Furniture Design program and everything you guys have done is exactly how I’ve been taught. It is incredible to see the finished design and the ways you didn’t need a lot of fancy machinery either! Great job and it looks incredible!

  • Your guys chemistry and comedic editing style made this article EXTREMELY satisfying to watch, you both absolutely killed it! I went to your website (after seeing only 165k subs I was confused because of the high quality of the article) and expected to see more projects, the fact that this is your first and only article here with over 3M views is insane and there’s definitely room for this in the algorithm 🙂

  • What a way to start on YouTube! I’m amazed !! At some point…it’s not really about the sofa anymore…It’s the friendship, the adventure, the loved ones, the creative process…No, I really loved the article! The sound choices, the animations and the editing well done guys !! And I loved when Olamide was discouraged Cullen kept encouraging this really shows that one can put a thousand to flight but 2 will put 10 thousand to flight ! Good job guys 🥰❤️‍🔥

  • YEEEEEHAW she’s a beauty! 🥺 I don’t have words for how much joy this article brought to my Thursday evening, you guys just keep killing it! I hope you both never stop doing what you do – everything is perfection, you never miss with the details, the sandwich section was particularly beautiful, you both have such a knack for storytelling it’s truly inspiring. Also I want to be besties with the lady at the design centre – I could happily hear about the history of furniture forever. 😂

  • Pops out of nowhere, fills a wonderful design niche on youtube, incredible editing and commitment to cinematography…this website just might be my new favorite thing.❤ My only other question would be what are your guys’ design backgrounds, because it doesn’t seem like you’re just DIYing from out of nowhere

  • Nice one boys, an instant classic for me! The dream sequence where you’re all tied up in red string repeating “we can’t sew” was so cinematic, I loved it. Your chemistry is infectious as well. Love to see someone from the UK show how it’s done, I was getting tired of all the American accents perusal woodworking articles all day

  • As someone who’s a major DIY-er (in sewing, I make my own clothes and could have helped you with the sewing problem 😎) it was so inspiring and fascinating to see you guys go on a DIY journey, even if you didn’t have all the knowledge to do so, to make that amazing sofa! You guys’ editing is CRISP as well and I loved it!

  • You should be so proud. Upholstering is not easy, but to build and upholster a sofa of this calibre, is beyond impressive. Very well done, it looks beautiful. One thing though. Do not wear denim on that fabric, because you run the risk of dye rubbing off on it 🙂 I really enjoyed this article and very happy you are both back.

  • Wow, this is great! Two friends setting out on a quest to make something cool. Freaking awesome! I love how you always spell out your Learnings after every step. Please continue doing this. It’s great practice for you reflecting like that, and amazing for the viewer because it makes everything more relatable – and also, gives great hints to build upon when trying something for oneself. Greetings from a product designer from Germany. You did so, so great. Bravissimo! I instantly subscribed and do look forward to your new exploits :))

  • Honestly 10/10 article, very good friendship vibes, and the goal was achieved! I definitely want to attempt to do this myself because Pinterest has been pushing sofas that look like this and I’m in love. Overall well done lads! PS can we get the entire interview with the furniture lady? That’s such interesting information!

  • I love this idea for a website and project. This is so deeply relatable to millenial/gen z and you guys really struggling to push through and learn new skills through every process was really inspiring and I think would really encourage people to push their own boundaries. I hope you guys have an agreement who is taking it if/when you guys move places because I would imagine being SOOOOO attached to this sofa after all of this hard work.

  • I can’t describe how satisfied I am from perusal this vid. Idk why: I don’t need the sofa, I don’t need to know how to make new furniture, but how u both guys are happy, the level of montage, the jokes… I watched it 2 days ago, but here rn just to check out if u have smth new and to leave the comment how incredible u are! I can watch everything u guys are doing. I really love u ❤❤❤

  • absolutely fantastic first article??? i was sooo shocked to see you didn’t have any more just by the amazing quality of this one (like holy shit guys). also absolute wonderful personalities from both of you! and you barely did any shortcuts and you did sooo much research and just?? wow. the couch is also great and looks soooo comfy. good work ❤️

  • I will say that Home Depot here in the United States carries huge strips of foam in three different textures one extremely stiff the next one is a lot softer and then that third one is just too soft I would guess that would be like a Topper but yeah I’m loving your article so far I love you guys are awesome you guys are awesome I love you guys

  • It was like perusal Michael Gondry’s ’Science of Sleep’ 🎥 great editing! very creative indeed and really funny (choosing the fabric shoot-out…. Hillarious 🤣), no wonder you have that many subscribers!👌 …as a “new” born again believer in Christ, I’ve noticed that it’s almost impossible to watch a vid without hearing the Lord’s name being taken in vain, (I probably did that a lot myself before) it’s quite ironic that atheists always use omg and JC 🤔 …beatiful sofa btw ✨🤩

  • I watched your article because I am about to make a breakfast “nook” and want the benches really comfy — like a sofa! Not like the benches for orphans in Oliver Twist 😢 Well, this was such a fun article… part DIY, part Choose Your Own Adventure, part NCIS. Just know that you are giving people who can’t even sew (in Lumberton NC) the courage to make their own breakfast nooks. Comfy ones! Thanks a lot guys ❤

  • Great looking sofa. You’d might have got away with using a lot of Velco tape to fix armrests on the wood? But I’m not an expert, just an idea. This way they can be dissambled – which is great if you ever want to move and have slim doors. If the fabric has a zipper there too it could even be washed – which might be necessary with light fabric. 🤗 The foundation from wood is probably fine in one piece – at least it’s more stable that way 😇 The small gap could have been a protruding dowel. 🤔

  • WOW GUYS !!! I am so beyond impressed with the quality of your work ! The level of quality in the storytelling, the presentation of the process, the actual making of this incredible final product … all of it was so much fun to watch ! And I can’t believe this is your very first long length article, I mean, honestly, it truly is outstanding ! Exceptional ! Fantastic ! I subscribed without a second thought, and I’m really looking forward to see more of what you have to offer 🤍 DOPE

  • Amazing article, great fun to watch and inspiring to see how you managed to take basically no experience and make a damn good sofa! Ways to get that neat, crisp join between armrest upholstery and the wood! (Not really useful to you now, but if someone takes a swing at it or a similar project it might help) My first thought was “Whack some velcro on the wood + the cushion” (That’s how IKEA does it!) My next idea was having a plastic giant “n” shape to keep that slot in the right shape and stiffness. Attach it in to the cushion and it could “pinch” onto the wood. Are there differences between your sofa and the original? Well, sure. Do they matter? Probably not! That is a nice looking sofa! I’m impressed, and this is making me feel way more optimistic about taking on some of my more ambitious projects too!

  • This is unbelievable! This article is exactly what I’ve been looking for! I research projects obsessively but often can’t find just the right information and use up a lot of time looking for it. This is the perfect resource! It’s thorough, it’s funny, it’s approachable, it’s free… you guys are doing a major service for makers! The couch looks amazing and professional quality! I can’t wait to see what else you’ve got planned!

  • You guys are awesome you got me big time I subscribe we will be friends forever at least a friend in my head anyway I know what you guys are doing is awesome it’s beautiful you’re making a couch and you’re not going with the business model where there is so many legal loopholes that you end up with just the name and not quality so you’re going to make it yourself and create a better look-alike one with quality yes get it boys what I really appreciate is your real friendship you can’t fake that, it is so real it’s authentic your friendship and your love for each other is so precious and so beautiful I can experience and feel it all the way over here where I am, in Merica! May God blessed this amazing union of friendship for life I love it BFF
