In this Subnautica guide, we explore the crashed Aurora and repair its drive core shielding to prevent radiation leakage. The Drive Room contains four partially submerged Drive Core pillars with 11 breaches scattered across their surfaces. Each breach can be repaired using the Repair Tool. If all breaches are repaired, the Aurora will stop leaking radiation, eliminating the need for the Radiation Suit.
To repair the Drive Core, you will need a Propulsion Cannon to clear the entrance, a Repair Tool to fix the Drive Cores, and a Radiation Suit. The drive core is composed of four large reactors connected by catwalks, some underwater and heavily damaged. Building a propulsion cannon is the hardest task, but it simplifies the process.
You will need a Repair Tool, Radiation Suit (with gloves and helmet), a knife, and a Propulsion Cannon. Radiation gear is mandatory since you cannot use it.
To repair the Drive Core Shielding Breaches, you will need a laser cutter for several sections and the Drive Core. Choosing not to repair it prevents you from using the Rebreather inside the Rad Zone, which is one of the most important equipment pieces. To repair the Aurora, go to the front of the ship and make your way in that direction. The developers have made the Aurora a maze, so it might take a while, but it is worth the effort. Thanks! This article is simple and to the point – how to repair the Aurora. Nothing more and nothing less. I’m playing hardcore, and just used it to fix it. All of the other articles are at least twice as long. BTW, if the bleeders are harassing you while you are trying to repair the breaches, you can knock them off your arm with the repair tool. Not as good as the knife, but you probably already have it in your hand.
