These are beautiful Patti. Those rub ons you used I have them also and I love them. The 2 vases look so good painted like terracotta, I love them. TFS and for the inspiration I always get from your articles. It’s been 6 months and I haven’t been in my craft room but the last week I’ve been in there a fair bit and kept myself busy and it certainly has changed my mindset from being miserable and sad to happy and wanting to do things now so I’ll be doing a lot more in there from now on. Have a great weekend. Looking forward to your next article.
How you come up with these amazing ideas is sheer fun and ingenious . Your an amazing lady my friend I hope you keep coming up with more fantastic ideas my home is going to be awesome with all your ideas. Not to mention that I appreciate you as an artist. Ty I will be busy every day doing your projects 😂. Ty so much for you may the lord bless you and hope your around for crafting a long time!!!😊
Hmmm…you’ve given me some great ideas for a couple of jars (with lids) that I have. You are just so creative and diverse with your ideas…❤❤that about you and your website! The only thing that made me cringe was when you were spray painting the vase white and the fine mist was going on the patio chair…lol. I hate the clean up when I do that 😉 And my chalk paint does that, too.
So creative. I love your website. I always enjoy your gift wrapping and basket articles as well. How about a basket/wrapping article for friend birthdays from 20-70 age wise. Nothing elaborate just ideas. I’m a gift card giver but ideas are always welcome. FYI I have trouble with my chalk paint as well. I think it’s because I paint right out of the jar so when I get my next jars I will pour into a dish.
I came across your article by mistake. It was very enjoyable. I like how you speed it up and stay in track with your instructions. One of other woman made wonderful projects but she talked so much that the article took an hour. Also, she took us out to see her puppies before the article. They were cute but ❤ I was more interested in learning the craft. So…. Love your article!❤
First time looking at your website. Good ideas but you are another crafter who constantly says I’m gonna “go ahead and…….” That phrase can be TOTALLY ELIMINATED and the words left will have the same meaning. I’m gonna (go ahead and) paint this black. Eliminated: I’m gonna paint this black. See? Unfortunately, this is as irritating as inserting “you know” unnecessarily. I am a crafter and subscriber to many YouTube websites but I cannot continue to hear these speech habits. There may be many potential subscribers who feel the same way but just don’t have the courage to say it. They just stop perusal and never come back. Do what you want with this information. I think I know what that will be, but I could be wrong.
👉👉👉 this is somewhat off topic but may be helpful to some. I have stenciled 100’s of things….walls, ceilings, doors…etc….to keep brushes from flaying simply wind a small rubber band (think bands for mouth braces)very near the end of your bristles……..remove for washing ….when brush is almost dry reapply the rubber band for the next project and to keep bristles from completely drying in frayed position. Use a small amount of laundry soap to clean brushes when painting with acrylic paint. The soap will leave a thin film on the bristles and they will be easier to clean the next time. NEVER set brushes on the bristles. Store brushes standing on their handles or laying flat. When long term storing, I keep them in a closed tackle box with moisture absorbers. Another hint, because I am often standing on a ladder or scaffolding I need a free hand to balance myself. As you are aware one needs something clean and dry to remove excessive paint from your brush. I simply use a medium size rubber band to attach either a paper towel or old wash cloth around my non-dominant wrist, turning it on the wrist as it becomes soiled. Replacing it when necessary. Hope these hints are helpful 🧑🏻🎨🎨
When I work with Gold Leafing I pick up small pieces of it with a pencil eraser to place it on my project. That way, it doesn’t stick to your fingers and you don’t waste any of it. And I save all of the scraps to be used on another project. You can also use Mod Podge to apply it. And a coat of it over the gold leafing to seal it. The white vase is beautiful! Nice work and great ideas!
I should have watched the 1st article more than once. I didn’t do thin layers of spray paint. I basically stuck the can of spray paint inside the vase. Do NOT do this because it runs immediately. I ended up using Citristrip to scrape all the paint along with the copper leaf I used. NOTE: applying adhesive with a paint is tricky too because it’ll cause brush marks that show up afterwards. Im going to start over and use a thin foam brush and see if that eliminates brush marks.
