  • girl, you swear these articles are boring, but we LOVE them. you are my fav website to watch nail vids from. keep doing it and showing us all the steps! it is so educational and helpful, and I think I can speak for us all when I say we are not EVER bored. your repetition in these articles is the single most reason I can do my own nails today!

  • The fact that professionals get mad at her by showing how she does her nails at home is insane, if i wanna do my nails with a nail tech or not is my decision and nobody should feel pushed to do their nails specifically with a nail tech, specially if you can learn to do it yourself…. People need to chill out! Btw Kayli i love you and love your nail method, I’ve been doing my nails now for a while following your articles and the sets lasts a month and they don’t fall! You rock! 💕 thank you for sharing it with us

  • Lmao! As someone in the industry, I think it is petty and HILARIOUS that licensed nail techs would be mad. Why? Because you’ll still have customers. Not everyone is capable of doing their own nails, nor do they like it. Some people prefer being pampered and cared for by someone else. Or quite literally cannot do their own nails haha. If you can do it yourself, that’s amazing. It’s like saying nail techs can’t do their own nails. They MUST go to another tech lmao

  • Thank you so much for this article! My nails have never looked better, even better than when i was going to my local nail tech that would just try to bang them out! And also have never been healthier, as now they aren’t getting overall drilled! My pocket is also so happy! Thanks again for your amazing tips!

  • Love it! Love the pearls! Just this morning I was trying to find a bag or those round things with the different size pearls? Yeah…was I successful? I don’t remember lol 😂 Chemo brain is a real thing. 😂 I’d have to look at my order sadly enough. I think I was tho. You have been practicing with the air brush! You know back in the 80’s when we really used them ALOT we had like stencils for everything! Lol Oh well…another super article!

  • Hi Kayli! I’ve been perusal your website for a bit now and am so desperately trying to do my own gelx nails without hurting my natural nail bed and I had no idea you let the acetone sit for a little and take off an extra coat before letting the rest soak off! That helps me so much! Also, if you see this comment, how can I keep my nail polish from already peeling after I cure with my UV light? Thanks for being my fav YouTuber 🙂

  • I love doing my nails as well and I want to be just like u when I am older. My mom buys me nail stuff when she can like I got my first drill not to long ago but we live over seas so it’s harder to buy things on Amazon and stuff. So I always have to make sue with what I have. I currently do Press on nails but I put on the plain press ons and then paint them. I watch you regularly and I enjoy your articles so much. There is so much I want to say in this comment but just know that you are great and keep up the great work.

  • I am never bored with these articles. I rewatch all of the time. I’ve been doing my own nails since i found your website. Mine are no where as beautiful as yours I am learning though, from you. And i still get compliments on them when I go out. Thank you for making another tedious nail article. We love them! ❤

  • i have just started to do my nails and i also have been doing my friends nails too but whenever i try to file the gel nail polish off, after a while doing so it starts to heat up and i have felt heat spikes in like mili seconds of doing so after a while and im not rven putting any pressure, while filing down my 3-4 weeks nails. could you please let me know why that has been happening. and i follow your articles and have gotten everything that you use. ps. i use the MelodySusie Portable Electric Nail Drill. also i love your articles. they are all so calming like i always have your nails articles playing in the background while im doing my nails.

  • hey kayli! you are my comfort website but still offer amazing advice and information! i would absolutely love more anxiety chats/grwm’s/hair care articles! i love your advice and anxiety stories they really help my mEsSeD uP brain sooooooo…. yeah! i love you so much keep doing your thing ❤️ it brings me so much joy when i see you have posted 💋💋💋 I LOVE YOU! it would mean A LOT if you replied or even just read this comment. thank you so much 😊

  • Hey Kayli! I’ve been teaching myself to do my nails and the only problem i have is my nails getting bulky from layers of gel polish art. Especially with french tips, the end of my nails will be extremely thick by the end of my nail art. How can i do exciting nail art, without my nails getting bulky? Thanks!

  • It does not matter what i do i get lifting in about 3 days. Theyll stay on for about 2 weeks, but always have lifting. Ive tried everything!! From youtube, to tiktok, to a comment i posted on her website before, and everyone gave me tips. I even started doing builder gel instead of gel x. Still get lifting. Its so frustrating!

  • Girl you inspired me to buy everything to do my own nails. I followed EVERYTHING you do step by step… on day 3 of gel x and they’re still going strong!!! I had my nails for years but took a break last year because it got so expensive. Now that I can do this myself!?………. I will never not have nails again 😍😍😍

  • If the professionals are mad at you for making articles on how to do your own nails, then they are probably mad at a lot of people because just about everyone is doing them at home now since the pandemic started. I dont blame them. The salon is way too expensive!! It’s great that everyone can do them at home now buying everything right off amazon. A lot of people learned when the pandemic hit because they couldn’t go to the salons. i think the nail techs probably lost a lot of service due to lots of people learning from home during that time and that’s why they are upset due to the lost business of many. BTW, the set of nails you did in this article are my favorite!

  • I really love your articles, they help me so much so I don’t mind the application process of the gel x nails. Your nails are looking very good. I love perusal nail articles a lot so yes, more nail articles but all you content is enjoyable. I hope you have a great day and you get more positive comments then negative comments your a blessing, I look forward to your next post 🎉

  • I love your articles. they’re so relaxing to me. ❤ thanks for making them. PS – youre an awesome YouTuber because youre authentic and dont ask for the cheesy thumbs up subscribe thing. if people genuinely like something, they like it and subscribe for more, no need to ask! I subscribed to you after the first article I watched a few months ago! Love from BC Canada ❤

  • Heyyyy girl, I love your nails and I’m putting together a list to start doing my own. Do I need to get extender gel, a top coat and builder gel (in addition to my color gels)? Or can I get either extender gel OR builder gel and use the one for both attaching the tips and attaching gems/raindrops? I’m trying to narrow down my list since I’m just starting out.

  • Hey girl just a little tip (i didnt even know this when i was in nail school i learned this from the salon i work at) the little colored bands on drill bits are meant to keep dust out of your drill handpiece so just push it down to wherever is comfortable for you. You do a great job i wish i wouldve self taught myself before i went to school!

  • Obsessed. Clocked that ASP gel. I’m a Sally’s hoe when my Young Nails runs out, too. I am pretttty sure that’s their own brand which is why I gotta put you on, sis. I’m self taught, too. Last time when I went to Sally’s, I ‘splurged’ on the IBD Intense Sealer for my top coat instead of ASP brand and never looked back. It’s a mirror shine, not tacky and it’s a dream to work with encapsulated bits. Like I will probably buy it again instead of the YN’s version when I run out. It’a that good. (OH! and not thick at all like all the Amazon brands tend to be.)

  • professional nail tech here: we’re not mad that you wanna do DIY nails at home, we’re mad that a lot of people don’t give proper instructions and straight up damage their hands and give themselves contact dermatitis (allergic reaction to the gel). Then people start to fearmonger that getting your nails done is harmful bc gel is toxic or bc the lamp gives you cancer (facepalm). You have to understand that nail techs already aren’t respected like other beauty professionals, people want to lowball us all the time. This fearmongering that resulted from, you guessed it, people doing their own nails at home is having a negative impact on us and it’s honestly really disheartening considering we already have to “prove our worth” for a mere 20 bucks (this is a whole different conversation where people just don’t wanna listen) when WE are the ones that went through school, are educated on different aspects of health, product, hand anatomy, safety, blabla, practice the actual skills of doing nails professionally, getting our licence, running a business, etc., … It’s EXPENSIVE to do that. So, it’s not that we’re mad at people wanting to DIY something, it’s that we’re getting shitted on for something that isn’t even our fault while prof nail techs already are trying to educate non-professionals on the dangers of doing your own nails at home lol. Hope this clears something up…

  • licensed nail techs aren’t critiquing you because you’re doing your own nails yourself for a lower cost, they’re critiquing you because you’re not licensed and making articles telling people how you nails as a nonprofessional, and you are influencing. they went to school, put in the hours, did many sets for free, and earned their license – that’s why it’s justified for them to charge what they charge.

  • i dont think its fair to come after prof. for potentially incorrectly doing anything, i dont know exactly what they say, but as an esthi who went to school w full specs and nail techs, there is a large amount of education and practice required, and prices are not unreasonable for the emount of time spent and detail put into nails. there is nothing wrong doing it at home, but licensing is a process for a reason. i think it was moreso how it was said, but many nail techs really work for their craft and that is their business and their income, so it is a bit disheartening to hear “dont be mad bc u charge x amount and i can do it myself” :/

  • as a licensed professional in cosmetology………………….. girlie it’s pretty mad RUDE to be saying “but they’re charging $100 for the nails I do” …………….. you’re paying for our EXPERIENCE, ARTISTRY, KNOWLEDGE and our TIME. We need to be board certified on important things like infection control of things like Staphylococcus aureus. I wonder how many self taught individuals know and think about important things like this. If the above something you choose not ro respect, you’re very welcome to make that choice. But to come on here and discredit the work of artists who spend countless hours working on their craft, please don’t. Work a day in the life of being a nail technician/makeup artist/hairstylist, and you will understand the prices. Have a good day.
