  • I had this issue on my 2.2 when i was thrashing it a bit and hit traffic and turned the engine off and on while stationary – i did hear some liquid sounds too – I changed the the oil and coolant and it has not seemed to be an issue since although my mpg isnt that great – did you find any other culprits since posting the article?

  • Thanks, My 2008 Honda Civic is super hot in the engine bay, cant even touch some parts. The coolant is new, temps are ok but still something is super hot. I think my alternator or some other pulley bearing is toast. The 4 pin connector on the alternator broke like a biscuit due to the heat, I hope I can fix it this week, get the alternator checked.

No Thermostat took it out parmanently 2. Changed fresh engine oil 3. Changed fresh Transmission Oil 4. New Air Filter 5. New Spark Plugs 6. Cleaned injectors 7. Cleaned throttle body after all efforts its still the same
