I have chronic kidney disease and my last blood test showed potassium w level was 5.8 and before that was 6.3 and renal dr said was critical and life threatening. I’m going to see a dietitian and as of now I’m on restriction of eating foods rich in potassium. Info I’ve read says 2,000mg per day for anyone with chronic kidney disease. My kidneys are not filtering the potassium.

What do I eat instead of protein? I am diabetic and was told I had to eat a very low carb/high protein diet. I grow a lot of my veggies and have cut way down on processed food and salt.
