  • So household bleach and “chlorine” are basically the same. The SH that we use is just a little stronger. Power washing rigs can apply more than 60:1 water to bleach. I have mine applying about 2.5% with a 4gpm machine. Because of the shooter tips we use, we aren’t hitting the house with 4000psi, more like 200. You CAN use a pressure washer to do a decent amount of soft washing. A soft washing gas pump is definitely helpful for certain applications, but a 4000psi 4gpm can do a wide variety of jobs.

  • Do you have any content that demonstrates the fungicide you use & how it’s mixed with the chlorine? Also I’m wondering if you had any advice to offer me on what pressure washer to buy. I have a lawn care business & I definitely want to add this service. I’ve never done this before . I’m really ready to buy & get started. I plan on using my house for training. Any tips or advice I’m very thankful for. New subscriber here.

  • A pressure washing company runs the same system. You are talking about an industry you don’t know about. Your running a sws system 12v. we have 12v on our rigs as well but a pressure washer on siding is still only running at 200psi unless your talking about an un educated home owner with a craftsman rig. The flow we run provides a scrub affect that you can’t get with a booster rinse system like your running. Run both systems and see why all the large scale cleaners don’t operate out of an sws system.

  • I get a better job by washing my house with a hose and brush, like washing my car, than with a pressure washer, what I noticed the first time I used a pressure washer on my house was that it ruined the finish and it now looked dull, I would consider washing your house just as you would your car, even if you plan on painting,

  • I’m finding I still have to pressure wash after the soft wash, is anyone else experiencing that? The black mold or whatever will be barely sitting on there but it’s not unstuck enough for my hose nozzle to remove by itself. What am I doing wrong? Is this common or do I just need to mix more chemicals?

  • Yeah, sounds better, but still not as ideal as using Hypochlorous acid (which is non-toxic and no fumes). Edit: actually I don’t know which is better for longevity of keeping mildew off home. I make my own hypochlorous acid at home at 200ppm (0.02% chlorine) strength and it works on my aluminum siding.

  • I do tile & grout cleaning but a shopping center asked me if could I pressure wash their property that has algae/mold build up from water run off from the roof. I tried prepaying ecolabs chemical from Home Depot but I had to really pressure wash just to remove about 70% of the area I tested. It’s a fiber cement stucco wall, and I don’t want to ruin it. Do you have article explaining the mix of chlorine and fungicide? Where can I get these products? I really want to be able to complete this job for them as it could lead to floor work for me which I know how to do that lol

  • I’ve used this sprayer several times now on brick pavers, a wood deck, patio, and a driveway. youtube.com/post/Ugkx43QMbQqu67IZadu9ou8Sg1BdrunMRNqX It has performed as expected on all surfaces. For larger areas like the decks and patios, I think I will be looking into a surface cleaner attachment to speed up the job, or at least make it a little easier. Hose and sprayer connections are tool-less, tight, and quick. I used the yellow nozzle on the concrete/brick surfaces, and the pressure was adequate for cleaning those surfaces.I am disappointed that these units are still being shipped with a nozzle storage holder that allows them to vibrate out of the holder way too easily and become lost, but I don’t want to knock off a star for that reason. The functional part of the washer works very well, so I would recommend this product.

  • I have an opportunity to buy a slightly used skid mount pesticide sprayer. I’d like to get into pressure washing for my step brothers painting business and eventually get into soft washing on my own. However I am a full time Arborist and thought could I use one sprayer to do it all? Spray trees with pesticide, drain triple clean, soft wash, drain triple clean then do a paint prep power wash. I know it’s probably not practical full time but the whole pesticide thing has a fairly small window of application. Great article thanks to anybody for any input

  • Uh oh. We are in the middle of an $11,000 exterior house painting job. We hired an expensive reputable company but when they came to wash the house, they didn’t use pressure to get the peeling paint off (and there’s a lot of it). I called with my concerns and they said that they don’t pressure wash the paint off and that they scrape it. She said that they wash the house to get debris off of the paint. But I did a walk around and took pictures because they failed to get all the debris off. They better not paint over bug cocoons!!! I smell a small claim coming…

  • If I only have a hose or pressure washer is there some way to do the soft wash or do you have to purchase equipment that only does 100psi. I looked for Clorox and fungal. Can you send me a link to what you use? I ask because we have a wooden deck under trees and it’s very dark and green growth. But I would love to add this to our surface prep business.

  • Just bought all the equipment to get my business going, also made some business cards to go door knocking. I’ve did a few houses and followed the steps I’ve seen on some of your articles. Everything you put out is amazing and pretty much inspired me to start my own business. 🙏🏽 I know it’ll take a lot of hard work and dedication but I’m all for it. If there’s any pointers you can give me much appreciated 👍🏽! God Bless Thank You

  • I’m a steel worker.. putting up buildings for a living.. and the past couple days I’ve pressure washed a building and the side walks around it that we put up.. and I did it for $18 an hour.. I couldn’t help but be angry at myself.. so tired of doing work for someone else for next to no money.. my mind is seriously running around this business.. this article was great I had to watch all of it because I’m seriously considering it 👍🏼 thanks for so much detail and breakdown.

  • I am currently in the medical field as a medical assistant. I have been for 12 years now and I feel like I am stuck. I recently spoke with a friend who is doing this for a living and he suggested that I look into doing this also. I was a little skeptical but after perusal this, I am certain that I want to get started. Thank you so much for this article. This gave me some clear insight on how to start up. I am getting the ball rolling and using all this info to help be get started. I can’t thank you enough for this info and taking your time to do this. You’re a true one! I hope your business THRIVES!

  • Other articles I watched didn’t go into details about which machine you recommend for cleaning or pressure nozzles recommended for the job, insurance that is needed and why nor chemicals available for removing dirt, grease, graffiti, etc .I appreciate you taking the time to create this article it was very very helpful and detailed. This article answered all of my questions. Thank-you 👍🏽💯💯💯💯💯💯

  • Thank you for these article i am buying equipment now and gettinf towards buying a truck to start here with in the next few months. The only two thing im slightly intimidated by is learning the chemical ratios and figuring by prices i have had a tendency to charge less than i should have when i ran other business. i eas also alot younger.

  • Until I’m at a level where I’m looking to pick up commercial businesses, I wouldn’t get licensed and insured. Fuk paying the jike tax until your doing bigger jobs where if you fuk up it could cost a lot to repair. I’m in a unique situation though where if I’m sued, they’ll never be able to get anything from me.

  • I’m Ready, I have a full time job and I love these articles, I purchased a whisper 20 inch surface cleaner, a giant 4400 pressure cleaner from Lowe’s with the warranty, because of you. My wife enjoys the fun I’m having on this website, I pressure cleaned my own driveway this week, and it was absolutely beautiful! I followed all the tips on your website and all the other guys, and let me tell you, it felt great to make my house look brand new. Now, I have my neighbors trying to get me to do their houses also. That SH mix is the secret. You have to get it right, and buddy, if you don’t, it burns like the hell of hades!😂

  • Great article, I have been in heavy industrial services for 10 years (currently a supervisor at Veolia in Australia). I want to do something similar but a bit nervous as I am unsure how much I will earn each year. I dont think I could match the money I am on now but I think the stress would be so much less running my own business.

  • I “started” but I got the wrong equipment and now I’m down money and need to get a proper pressure washer. Marketing is hard and it’s harder than it seems, it’s more than just labor. 25 years of age and this is my first attempt of a business and in California so its not too easy. Any help would be very much appreciated.

  • Been a teacher and coach for 5 years, I put in so many hours in the classroom and outside of the classroom (including on the coaching side of it). I deal with so much crap. Granted, it was my choice to be a teacher so I can’t complain too much. But I hardly make ends meet despite the time and effort I’ve put in, getting to the point where it’s starting to feel not worth it anymore. Always been interested in something like this, i miss physical labor. I want to learn more before I’d jump ship and make a huge change! Thank you for this article!

  • Great article! I’m in Cali and and curious about starting a side hustle, or going all in. I’m done working for someone else too. Kinda got an entrepreneurial itch going. I’m sorta OCD so this is right up my alley. Such an accomplished feeling when it’s all done I bet! The licensing here I bet is gonna be a hassle.

  • Video is great and very informative! But the “NEXT Insurance” link for business insurance! Like wow! I checked it, did all the info for a quote for Pressure Washing Insurance.. And WOW Was quoted $2,727.93 per month! Not per year…per month! That is absolutely crazy! Business insurance for this should be around $1,200-1,700 per year!! That company is nuts!

  • If you’re not sure if it’s going to be long term, buy quality pro gear that has resale value. Do not burden local retailers with your indecisive decision making by returning equipment because you “changed your mind”. That’s really an ethics consideration. Electric pressure washers on 115V AC don’t produce near the output for a professional application. 220V electric rigs aren’t practical for field use unless you power up with a generator and that adds more equipment to haul around and just isn’t an efficient system design. A good entry level point is 4GPM @ 4000PSI & 12-13HP. That’s the crossover point from high-end homowner to entry level commercial. A custom rig with Predator 459 15.8HP is even better. 16″ surface cleaner is perfect for a 4GPM setup. The right pricing quote is found when you learn to properly estimate the job and base that upon your market. The advice of getting your pricing point to landing ~60% of your bids is SPOT ON. Good article.

  • Great article!! Very informative. I have a question maybe you can help. I’m going to clean my house and I’m using a 4000psi 3.5 gpm machine. If I down stream 5 gallons of straight SH with a black tip for application at a 15:1 flow rate, is that to hot or not hot enough? Again thank you and appreciate all your articles. Using 10% sh

  • Hey man, I am just starting out surface cleaning driveways, I bought a back pack sprayer 4GAL, do I put my sodium hydrochloride which I buy from my local pool store (essentially just pool shock) do I put that directly into the sprayer or do I mix water with it? My plan is to use that backpack sprayer to soak driveway for 15-20 mins then power up my power washer / surface cleaner and then clean it! Let me know what you think, thank you

  • I’m ready, hopping in the industry to, funny im looking for updates on the comments of those who posted they where getting in business also. Love the article, a little curious about your surface cleaner and pressure washer combo.. cause im following your advice and the rule of thumb.. it looks like you have a 21″ surface cleaner attached to a 3.5 GPM pressure washer ? going to be perusal more of ya articles brah

  • Okay I’m having trouble with the license aspect of the business. Does anyone ANYONE have the answer of obtaining (if needed) a license in Texas. I’ve received both yes and no through research and visited city hall, with absolutely no information. Kind of mind melting to get a straight answer. Please help.

  • Im looking for someone with experienxe to answer this question. The link for the amazon store isnt working, im just curious, outside of the pressure washer and surface cleaner, what are the most necessary pieces of equipment for pressure washing?? What are some of the equipment that i can start without, and order down the line when i have more money?

  • Great article, really looking to get into the pressure washer/softwashing business. When seeing youtube website like yours, I see pressure washing as a great business for homes that have concrete driveways. I am just a bit worried about my area as we generally have asphalt driveways which I don’t really see many people getting pressure washed (as I am aware you probably shouldnt anyways). Any tips with starting a business with these kind of driveways?

  • every beighbourhood has their own pressurewasher. You just schedule when you want to use it. It is not a job. Basic homemaintainance on detatched housing should be done by the owner of the house or the neighbourhood should find a solution to deal with it. Normal ppl who cant afford deteached housing should not do this and if this job pays enough so that you can buy your own deteatched houseing then there is something seriously wrong about the balancing of income. Noboddy should be able to afford detached housing.

  • thanks for all the helpful info. i already have a pond business was look to get into other things as well and power washing has always been interesting as i also use it in my current business. but this just made me see that i am ready to add on and offer more thank s i have already subcribed and will be looking at your other vids.

  • We are just getting started and have an opportunity to get a large commercial building but they only want the front and 1 side of the building done. How would you suggest charging because I can’t go by the square feet of the whole building. Should I take the length and height of each wall and charge for square footage of each wall? I am new to this and used to pricing houses by the square feet of the entire whole house. We are using quote iq and its an amazing app!!

  • I have a question, if I were to buy a 3.3gpm hot pressure washer- would I be able to use a 16 inch surface cleaner with this and would it be adequate? I am only looking at this unit bc it’s a hot water unit- or would I be better off getting a cold spray unit with 4.7gmp? Please let me know what you think- and thank you in advance.

  • Thanks for the helpful content. I am about to buy my first pressure washer/surface cleaner to start my pressure washing business. I am on a tight budget starting off. What is the lowest PSI/GPM set up you would recommend for doing driveways and sidewalks? I plan to pre treat with chemical if that would help. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

  • Hey so I got a question, I have a full time job but how would I make the switch? My schedule is inconsistent and I would only be able to pressure wash on a Monday. I was thinking about starting small with can cleaning and working my way up but idk. Should I still create a business name and website from the very beginning or should I just do it like a side job and get cash first then work my way towards a full time business?
