How to unlock retail Acnl?

In New Leaf, a new store called Re-Tail is introduced, run by two alpacas, Reese and Cyrus. Reese serves a similar role to Tom Nook in previous games, buying items off the player for their full value. A chalkboard sign outside the store lists premium items that can be sold to Reese for double the value. The store also offers a flea market with eight slots, with four in the middle and four near the top-left. Interacting with any slot prompts Reese to ask the player to place something in the flea market.

An empty slot can be occupied by any applicable sellable item, except bugs, fish, and exclusive Nintendo items. The price of the item can be adjusted between 1 bell and ~99, 999 bells. If the player accepts the request to sell an item, Reese will place the price tag on the item, and the selected slot will be occupied by the item. Once the player interacts with an item, they can buy it, and it will state the previous owner of the item. If they previously owned the item, they can adjust the existing price or take it home for free.

  • What I do (time traveling)- Travel one month forward, around 1pm, look for a villager with the thought bubble. If it is the villager you want kicked: talk, agree for them to move, save and exit the game once you’re done playing. If it isn’t the villager you want kicked: close the game, time travel one day forward, look again, and repeat until it is the villager you want to move.** If you don’t see any villagers with the bubble: do the same as above. (**)

  • Heres another quick way: go to resident services and go to nook stop. Select the amiibo. Call whichever villager you want to the campsite. When they come you have to do the requests and invite them over for 3 days. If your island is full, they’ll ask you if you know any villager thinking of moving out. Select a villager you want to kick off your island. In a few days, they’ll move out. If your island isnt full and you still have your first 3 plots, you just need to invite a camspite villager over. If you have plots, they’ll ask resident services and eventually move in

  • I’m on my second ANCH island. I’m new to the series, this is the first installment I’ve ever played. I let all and Any villagers move in. I waited until after I built my island the way I wanted and had all the house locations settled. Then after that I started to kick out villagers and move in the ones I wanted. My logic was that way, when I got all the villagers I wanted on my island. I could just play with them and fish, swim, collect bugs all day because I didn’t have to design anything on my island anymore besides the one or two seasonal sections I had! I got my switch stolen and now I have a newer one. Planning on doing the same thing!

  • I’ve had Tybalt for over a year now, but now it’s time to say “ta-ta” to him to make room for Vivian. And yes, I am time-traveling and waiting until he’s the one with the thought bubble and asks to move out, and that I can probably give him to any other player around the world (if they don’t have his Amiibo card or don’t want to keep wasting NMTs until he pops up on a Mystery Island via villager-farming). If you TT backwards, that will encourage him/her to ask to move out on a sooner date than the original date his/her 15-day cooldown can wear off.

  • My most effective way of kicking out a villager requires amiibo card thought. Just invite a villager you want at the campsite and you can get them to move on your island even if it’s already full. They will tell you the name of a villager who wants to move out. If they say the name of a villager you want to keep, just invite them again another day.

  • the fastest way to kick somebody out is amiibo. Other ways… well. First of everything. The recent moved villager will never ask you to let him leave. You’ll have to invite someone else before. Also the thought bubble can be something else: the villager can just wish some favor from you. If you entered a building and a thought bubble disappeared or moved to another villager – well, that’s it. So don’t be afraid to talk to thoughtful villager. You can just close the game without saving if that was unwanted dialogue and you don’t want 5 days cooldown. And the last. Don’t hit villager with bug nets. It’s stupid and won’t help. Ignoring the villager that you want to kick out won’t help too (and will even make the things worse actually)

  • I love cherry i have her on my island! Also here is how i get rid of the villager i don’t want 🙂 So i complain to Isabelle every day about them, i ghost them, ignore there mail, ignore them when the come running to you, and i didn’t want Gayle on my island so i did that and she eventually had the thought bubble and left! Sometimes the thought bubble means they just want to hang out w you 🙂 Also if you find any villager you dont want to leave wanting to move, dont talk to them and remeber the date. Time travel back a bit then go back to that date and a new villager will want to leave! Dont save until that villager wants to leave

  • Pov: Ugly villagers hits the ugly villager with a net „HEY! YOU THINK MY HEAD IS A BUG?!” hits the ugly villager with net at the next day „Hey! What are you doing!” pushes the ugly villager „Uhh.. i don’t like this!!!” The next day my favourite villager thinks about moving “WHAT?! I have been giving you gifts, talking with you everyday?! WHAT. WHY?!”

  • What’s interesting there a tip I like so if you’re having REALLY BAD LUCK trying to have a certain villager have the move out thought bubble go to Tom nook and get a house moving kit for a villager you WANT to KEEP while the item is in your pockets the villager will never ask to leave. Just thought this might save you some time

  • I was lucky to have villagers I don’t want to get rid of. Kody, Renee, Tutu, Jacob, Lucha, Rosie, Bertha, even GASTON. I wanted to delete my island at first, but then realized all the progress and villagers I have. If I ever get a villager I’ve wanted for a long time, such as Audie, I’ll probably kick Lucha off since I don’t have that much of an emotional attachment to him.

  • Lol today it happened that hazel, my favorite villager because I liked her and I like her because of being an og of my island (along with ace, but I don’t like it that much, but he’s a good guy) and I like her personality, so knowing that the bubble meant moving out and not knowing that I could just not talk to her, I talked scared of her moving and she just wanted to invite me to her house lol, it sacred me tbh

  • Actually, there is a faster way to do it! If you have the amiibo of the villager you wanna have move in you get them to move in and kick a villager at the same time. So basically you scan your amiibo at the nook stop and do that for three days. You can time travel or wait real time. But you craft the villager the items it asks you to for three days, and when they wanna move in you say yes. So then they will talk with resident services and they will come back saying we have max villagers or something like that, but they will also ask if you think a villager is planning on moving out and it will show you all of your villager and you pick the one you wanna move out. They will move out and the villager you want will move in. Sorry for a long paragraph, but I hope this helps/helped!

  • Problem is : if you want your LAST ARRIVAL villager to go,.. you’re kinda stuck . Cause the thought bubble never shows up on the LAST to arrive on the island. Solution ? You’ll have to let another of your villagers go first (yes, even if its one you love. I know, its cruel. Sorry) then try to find them back to become the “new last arrival”. Then, the one you wants to leave will eventually decide to move out someday. You could also try to find a replacement in the camping but it’s waaaay more hazardous. 😑

  • actually, I would talk to them. Some villagers actually have a thought bubble and they won’t want to leave, they simply just want to ask you or someone else something that’s just been on there mind all day, idk if that’s a new update cause I played animal crossing recently and that’s how it went when I spoke to one of my villagers with a thought bubble. I know I’m so late so that’s why it might just be an update animal crossing added.

  • The cooldown thing kinda bugged out for me. So one of my villagers asked to move out, and I hesitantly agreed, as much as it hurt to let her go, I wanted to welcome in a new villager. So, I run to Able Sisters to go buy an outfit for her, and come back to her with the thought bubble over her head AGAIN. She again asks me if she should leave and I said yes again. Then I gave her the clothes I bought her. Now.. I time traveled to the next day in order to give her another gift which I spent the last of my bells on, but I forgot and went back to present day only to find she was already gone.. I didn’t even get to say goodbye. 🥲

  • Another thing you should know, the thought bubble will never go on a villager that was the latest into moving into your island. So if you want that villager gone, yoire going to need to “move them up the bracket” by having another villager leave, and another villager move in your island. Then that new villager will be the latest.

  • BUT sometimes thought bubble the villager says hey can i come to your house? wanna come to my house? or Wanna buy my item? stuff like that. its not always AYO KORA MORA I WANNA LEAVE CAN I LEAVE RIGHT NOW? then u be like :DDDDDDDDDDDDD no ya to cute to leave or the hated child- or i mean the hated ugliest villager you have says Can i leave? you be like OHHHHH MAAAAAA GAAAAAAAAAAAHT YES GET DA HACK OAUTTA MAH ILAND

  • does anyone know if the villagers leaving/thought bubbles only happens after I already have 10 villagers living on my island? I still have like 6 villagers and I’ve been wanting to kick some out and the bubble never appears, no matter how much I ignore them, badmouth them for Isabelle or piss them off with the net! (that part breaks my heart but well…)

  • A way I kick out a villager is the Amiibo way even if I don’t have max villagers I wait till the forced camper villager move it in then wait 24 hours and scan that same Amiibo card for 72 hours and make that Amiibo campers DIY items 3 times. Another way is don’t talk to the villager you don’t want till they want to move out it’s an old GameCube animal crossing method

  • I hardly buy from Lush despite loving some products. They’re just too expensive now and a majority of my favorite products get either discontinued or they’re limited edition to begin with. They just rereleased one of my all time favorite scents at only select stores and I think that was my last straw tbh. I can’t handle the disappointment when I know Aveeno works better on my skin and is cheaper.

  • This is pretty much the only way you can get them to actually move out…. But people don’t listen. They’ll assault them with their net, hit them with a shovel or axe, and then berate them till they move out…. But that does nothing, and the game works on a day by day system, not…. That. This is one reason why I dislike the community, cuz they’re just rabbid animals when it comes to villagers.

  • Quickest way would be having an amiibo card. Also the thought bubble on your favorite villager you CAN speak with them and tell them don’t move out. Just don’t accidentally choose the wrong option. I’ve heard doing this the random thought bubble being past around won’t show up on them again(this one im not 100% sure on)

  • I just hit my chosen Villager with a net for a few days, telling Isabel that I’m annoyed with them without having her do anything about it. You know, getting them a bad rep. Talk with everyone else and give them gifts. After a few days they want to leave. (as well as doing a little time jumping back and forth without doing anything in the game. Just log in and then log out and go back to the original date)

  • I have Quillson I want to get off my island- I’ve been trying for weeks, looking to see if he has that thought bubble above his head but he still hasn’t thought of moving yet I’ve tried ignoring him and discussing him with Isabelle daily but he’s still on my island- I think Im doing something wrong but I just want to see people’s opinions or ideas on what to do 😭🤚

  • This is another reason I hated this game. The reason I loved Animal Crossing is because I was a stranger riding up to a community that was already established. It was essentially a friendship tutorial for when you move to a new place and know no one. People would move in and move out with no notice like how it felt as a kid. My favorite villager moved away at one point, so I used my brother’s memory card to visit other towns until I found her again and then kept both towns saved and would visit her. The first game felt like a parallel reality

  • I’ve recently found a quicker way to get the thought bubble off of a villager you don’t want to move out, you have to hit them with a net once. I discovered this purely by accident when trying to catch a bug next to the villager with a thought bubble, I’d say about five minutes later the bubble went onto the villager I hated the most and they left. Note that I haven’t done much research about it so I’m not sure if there are any consequences that could happen but I didn’t experience any

  • I don’t know if it’s fullproof but I did do it two times and it worked !!!! It may have just been when someone was moving out but I sent a letter and said I heard rumor you were thinking of moving on to bigger adventures and I said you have my blessing and gave them a nookmile has a gift I did 10 one time and then the other time I did just one and it did work that’s how i got rid of stupid zucker .. let me know if you try it !!!

  • So for those asking about how to unlock the items, The castle items you have to get lucky and hope it appears in your daily items in nook shopping or order them from Wardell if you own the happy home paradise dlc in which you still have to unlock it by doing homes that have said items and for the gyroids you also have to get lucky as random ones appear on your beach shore or buried in the ground.
