What are the sections of IKEA?

Ikea is divided into four areas: showroom, marketplace, self-serve warehouse, and checkout. The showroom is a private, grown-up playhouse where customers can view, touch, take photos, and measure assembled Ikea furniture. The tag on the item provides information on where and how much it costs. The marketplace offers a variety of Ikea decor accessories and kitchen goods, including vases, pillows, curtains, fabric, picture frames, artwork, lighting, dishes, kitchen utensils, and rugs.

The self-serve warehouse is where customers can find the furniture they viewed in the showroom. They can load the item onto a flatbed cart and bring it to checkout. The product tag information helps locate the correct aisle for the product. Large items are flat-packed in boxes for easy loading.

Checkout is the point where customers pay for their items. If the item is oversized or has multiple pieces, it may not be in the self-serve warehouse and must be collected at the furniture pickup area near the store exit. The product tag should be carefully examined to list colors, materials, sizes, cost, and other useful information.

Can you pick up items at IKEA?

Purchase items online and pick them up at a store or pick-up point by selecting the Click and Collect option at checkout. The order will be gathered, and you will receive an email when it’s ready for pickup. You can choose a pickup date at checkout, and most orders are held for an extra 24 hours. After that, the item is returned to stock and refunded. Unfortunately, due to space constraints, we cannot rush or extend the pickup time. Please wait for the “ready for pickup” email before going to the store.

How to check if IKEA has something in stock?

To find product stock availability for online purchases, enter your zip code into the “My location” search bar and enter the product name. Then, click “search” and add the product to your bag. During checkout, you can view stock availability, delivery, and pick-up options. If you’re looking for local store stock availability, enter your zip code and search for the product name. The product page will show if the product is available in your local store or if it’s not available at your local store, you can check other stores on the product page. If the product isn’t available for online purchase, you can sign up to receive notifications via SMS or email. Simply sign up on the product page.

  • Hahaha it is so funny to me that they have comforters now. Ikea is a swedish brand and sweden and norway(where i am from) both have duvet instead of the sheets you see in America with covers on top, i don’t know if duvet vs sheets it depends on where in America you are, but it just shows ikea is aware they sell well worldwide wide and take in to consideration their buyers.

  • Love your articles, whether it’s home goods or ikea. Prices have gone up considerably there ( unfortunately) but I still go there for some things. The patio furniture is really nice and stylish..so continue on with your strolls through the stores taking us with you. Pssst..did you know herbs are pronounced “erbs? 😊

  • Watching this was both exciting and inspiring. I loved seeing all the new products, especially the innovative patio furniture designs that would be perfect for my outdoor space. The article gave me plenty of ideas for refreshing my home decor and I can’t wait to visit IKEA to check out these items in person.

  • IMO…..gotta say that IKEA was my ENTIRE first DORM room in Uni a million years ago and I feel that NOW, I wouldn’t let my kid (IF I had one…..I don’t THINK I have one? The 90’s were blurry though soooo…🤷🏼‍♀️) have IKEA Furniture. The couches you liked all look sloppy and as if a “new” couch cover was put on in 10 seconds. I just don’t get the “feels” from IKEA like I used to. There are about 5 products that I LOVE but that is a very SMALL % considering the amount of items they have. Yes the new round to oval dining room table. Yes to the “old” tall glass cabinets that are $79 now. (A GF’s Hubby mounted them one on top of each other horizontally on a long and wide hallway wall and he did it so they appear to be “floating”….he is a Master Finishing Carpenter….the guy is MAGIC but WOW do those LOOK AMAZING and she puts all her OLD BOOK COLLECTION. Some are rare. It is JUST GORGEOUS. He put under lighting on the bottom “cabinet” which has a nice glow. He DID change the hinges to wee hydronic ones and I haven’t a CLUE how but it is absolutely STUNNING and if I had a wall I could do that on I would.

  • Thank you Kristen….I love your articles! I apologize if this questions has already been answered but I’ve been puzzled by the discontinuation of the popular Havsta line and wonder if you have an ‘inside track’ on whether IKEA plans to replace it with something similar. I designed a whole ADU space around many of the pieces (in white) about a year ago and now that I’m actually ready to buy, it’s gone! 😳 Any thoughts you can share? ❤️
