Jurors at the trial will hear from Harcourt’s attorneys how the mother and her husband purchased a Model X as their family vehicle after seeing advertisements about it being the “safest, quickest, most capable SUV ever”. The incident occurred just four days after the parents bought the Model X, and shortly after Harcourt pulled into their driveway with their son in tow.
The Model X automatically shifted into Park and set the parking brake, and Harcourt removed her son, identified as B. H., from his car seat and left the driver’s door open. The boy then escaped from his mother and climbed into the vehicle’s footwell through the open door. He then contacted the brake pedal, started the car and automatically closed the driver’s door. Seconds later, B. H. reached up and touched the gear shift lever on the stalk of the steering wheel, which shifted the car out of Park and into Drive.
The Model X then accelerated to over 8 miles-per-hour and struck Harcourt, fracturing her pelvis in multiple places, fractured her fibula, and caused a deep puncture wound to her thigh. Tesla has placed the blame squarely on the mother, arguing that the Model X’s design likely saved her life.

I really miss Waze and Apple Car Play. I use Waze on my phone while it’s sitting next to the awful maps on the Y’s screen. I just purchased a Silver Y AWD and I drove it from LA to Chicago then to North Dakota then to Bozeman and Seattle and now heading back to LA. Waze was the correct choice for the visible maps though the Y’s nav screen is incredibly important only for charging along the way. Side note: when you are on or even a few miles off from the freeways in all of these areas, it’s basically impossible to find any chargers for other cars. As Tesla owners we are incredibly lucky to have all of the awesome Tesla chargers. thank you Elon.
Robert.. They need one simple update and that is A Cross Traffic Update. We have the rear vision cameras, so hard can it be to an an alert to draw your attention. My other non Tesla cars have this so why not Tesla. Is there any webb sites where you can post request? Actually like the FSD disconnet feedback where you have the ability to post what happened? After getting my Tesla a week ago, I can say this confidently, the browser needs an update… It’s just SO BAD. I mean I’m really happy to have A BROWSER in the car, but it’s really bad. Also overall optimization needs to happen, it’s just so strange when you figure out how they did things and as an systems integrator / programmer you see how things could have been made better. ALSO I need some kind of sandboxed thing for shortcuts or some type of IFTTT type of thing.
Even if more streaming platforms are available. The fact that the level of audio quality of the music file playing is a lossy file compared to lossless when streaming platforms playing through Apple CarPlay. Please look into why we only get lossy audio quality vs lossless with Apple CarPlay in all those cars supporting?

I would like to see all the updates not hardware related actually go to the Legacy S and X vehicles pre 2021. There is no actually smart summon because Tesla never wrote Live Camera view for these vehicles, so there all stuck with the old summon which doesn’t really work. Also blind spot cameras, vision Autopark, light show, list goes on and on
Keep in mind the amount of resources it takes to host an App Store with a dedicated team to monitor / scrutinize / and manage (technically and legally) all of the developers coming in. Apple deals with mountains of business drama from their store with getting sued and taking apps down, etc. seems like it would be a huge diversion from their mission of making amazing vehicles.
No new phone yet, but surely the 16 Pro 🙂 The app store in the Tesla and customization of the interface would be great. And that they improve the basic autopilot which is too abrupt (it accelerates too much and brakes too much) in low-speed traffic (even when playing with the distance to the vehicle in front).
I would like to have the option to use Apple Maps. I’ve had my Model Y for about three weeks and I’ve missed turns and exits using the Tesla navigation because it doesn’t always tell you early enough that you have arrived at your turn or exit. Apple Maps does a much better job of telling you which lane to be in and that your turn is here, especially with the Apple Watch integration in which the watch vibrates when it’s time to turn. I’m setting up a phone mount to use Apple Maps in my phone when I go to unfamiliar places.
