I love this house so much. The reason so many people love it is because its not overly extravagant and it doesnt look like a movie set. Looks like a lived-in home that she cleaned up a bit for the tour. Its earthy, and functional for her which is why its so lovely! Theres memories and mementos all over.
She is the only member of the kardashian-jenner family that actually uses pretty good vocabulary and describes thing well Ik it’s a weird thing to point out but the other members just used the words “like” and “I think” in every sentence when explaining something, so Kendall is pretty good at explaining things in a way that we would understand her vibe
“Little memories all over the house that you probably, they kind of go unnoticed, but they mean a lot to me” she was so humble, appreciative, and down-to-earth throughout the article but this part really struck me. She knows that her eccentric style radically deviates from the typical “Kardashian-Jenner” aesthetics yet wholly embraces it. I love how here she is so feminine, thoughtful, and classy without being girly, cheesy or a try-hard. She’s really matured and blossomed into her true self.
I love how her house isn’t ostentatious, in-your-face extravagant like other celeb houses which seem to be specifically curated and designed for showing off wealth. No over-the-top entertainment area too. Instead she has a cozy art studio. Hers is really a home. Also, new-found respect for Kendall, cause she reads. I saw a Paulo Coelho book by her tea stand.
I wish people stop comparing her house to her sister’s because a home is what YOU make it. So if Kim wants her house to look like a minimalist museum let her. If Kendall wants her house to look fresh off of Pinterest let her. Ps this is not meant to be shady because both of their houses cater to my own taste as well.
Seeing her house I had the same feeling whilst seeing Dakota’s, not because the houses are similar because they’re not, but the fact that it really looks like a house where actual people live you know, where they had/have a touch in the decoration, not just some concrete building that some rich tasteless person bought and paid someone else to do all the minimalist white/grey bs. It feels warm, cozy and welcoming. I love Kendall’s house and Dakota’s. You can see their personality flowing into the house, love it.
I love how Kendall’s house actually has a “home” feel about it. You can actually tell she uses most of the space in it. Its definitely a BIG house but its not HUGE and lifeless and ‘”empty” feeling like the other celebrity houses you see, as if they just jammed pack anything thats remotely expensive in like a big show and tell.
It’s not nice to put her family down to compliment Kendall. She has a beautiful spirit and her house reflects that. Her family also have beautiful homes and just because you like Kendall’s more doesn’t mean theirs is lesser. Everyone is unique…… and to Kendall the energy in this house tour was so calming!
I like how these light brown couches are facing each other. I want to see the couches black. Okay I’ve been see curtains on sliders and I’m warming up to them however I like a different style. The big curtains and light brown color is though. Okay, these pink light are creative and I’d like to see these lights in green. I like the gold tub it has the design I like and a color I like too well done.
i like how she knows shes rich but she still appreciate the simple things in life, her house isn’t overly huge and she has a use for each room with the thought of the people who will also be in her house. She also added a part of her childhood and things she loves that makes her feel good. OH and her closet is very contained she doesn’t hoard the clothes she knows she isn’t gonna use, love that.
I like how she has settled on to the more relaxed vibe and you can also tell that she has toned down these past years and i think it’s because she’s aware how controversial she is and she’s trying to tone herself down at the center and it actually suits her compared to the past Kendall who was really loud and extreme. While her house feels waaaay more homey than her sisters, there are still some extravagant elements in her home which is her other personality (since being a kar-jenner is a big part of who she is and she grew up in the spotlight of glitz and glamour) but her house is a great mixture of earthly tones and extravagant hollywood vibes.
When I first started as a hairstylist, just out of beauty school, my first boss told me if you give the customer what they NEED you’ll be successful but if you give the customer what they WANT, you’ll be a millionaire. I feel like you can’t impose too much of your own taste onto a client. They know what they want and you just have to make it work for them.
Sidenote: We don’t put art over the bed in California due to earthquakes. It’s a good way to get hurt or die in the middle of the night. I agree, I was a bit surprised by the decor of her house. It doesn’t seem to fit her vibe. I narrowly escaped disaster during the Northridge quake. For some reason, I was restless and slept on the sofa that night and it hit very early morning. My bed had the art above it on the bed, the tv on the opposite wall, a lamp and the shattered shards of glass from the bulbs in my vanity all on the bed. I would have been hurt for sure had I been in there. It was my first big quake since I’d arrived in CA so I learned after that how to protect myself. lol So, I’d guess that’s why there’s no art above the bed.
The downstairs clothing area was for samples and packing. She gets a lot of samples that come on racks from her stylist and she picks from them what she wants to wear or take on a trip. She gets compensated for wearing certain designers because every time she wears something, it sells a ton for the designer. So that’s what that other area was. She doesn’t actually own those clothes per se, what she doesn’t want to wear just goes back.
I don’t like the farmhouse style per se, but at least it looks homely., I guess? I like the hallway, here in Chile traditional country houses (inherited from Spain of course) – have those, with windows on both sides and they’re so nice and cool during the summer. But the gold hot tub is HORRIBLE, lol
I think her home is very well put together and creative, I’m also an interior designer and antiques dealer I’ve been into antiques since I was like 8 I’m 43 now so as far as you thinking it’s ” strange” for her to like old things but wear new expensive clothes Is hilarious to me I mean should she be wearing an old Muu muu like Mrs Ropper on threes company 😆? I believe your home whether your a millionaire or a regular person should reflect what YOU love and brings you joy, ohhh and I thought her closet was cool, very colorful and spacious and I’m sure not her only one, all in all I’d give her an 8 outta 10, but here’s my little critique what’s up with that enormous teal zebra 🦓 stripped chair you sat in ? Did you mention value village?? 😳😳😳🤣🤣🤣 Fun website BTW 👏😉
The sink looks like the troughs my grandparents have in their rural farm in Belgium for the horses and cattle to drink water from. They have an old fashion well that they pump the water into a similar-looking one, but much bigger. Some designer must have sold her on ideas of what is “cool” to have and she said OK to everything. Now the house is just a mishmash of different things that may be expensive, but just somehow do not give you a cohesive look or feel. I think she can use your help to get it together.
I think Kendall wants to be that old soul type of girl. I remember when I used to watch the show (before things got too crazy) and Kendall was very into the whole grandpa-chic thing before it began it’s renaissance. But Kendall is just as greedy for fame as the rest if her family unfortunately so even when trying to have a personality it’s warped by the family ethos of generic pop culture 😬
“Wasbi-Sabi meets farmhouse, meets billionaire”. Well, said. Ha, HA! I do not get it at all. It makes about as much sense as she does, but to be fair, I only have a vague idea of who she is. Don’t care. BTW, Daddy, what about those who work every day in a crappy kitchen? I do it everyday. I use the same 3 or 4 pots, WHY have them ALL 30 hanging in the middle of the room to collect dust and grease? Then those big pendants in the center of the CF? With those 300 year old church doors next to the PINK neon inspiration script, I gave up completely. I honestly believe she had NO design group do this house, she probably did it. I do not see any cohesive design intent. NONE. It is disjointed as a whole. No self-respecting designer would put their name on that. Isn’t the idea of design to meld all these elements? Is this half-a$$ed “Avant-guarde”? It is a nice house, but GEEEZ!, that is about it. Daddy back to YOU. WHY do you have that stripe on that curvy chair? I is distracting how none of the seams match. Piping would have helped, but what were you thinking? A much bolder pattern or a solid would have looked better at least to me. WE still love you though, and yes, very entertaining. 🥰
Agreed on a house with a courtyard DD. . . in a perfect world I’d be wealthy instead of good looking and would have a house with an interior courtyard. Instead since I have beer dreams on a tapwater budget I’ll have to make do with my veranda. But on a different topic . . . your set! I love how the camera kept pulling back to show the magic! and that chair! looks like something I’d have to fight the cat for to sit in. 😉
Great architecture! Beautiful light. Those couches look like someone tucked fabric (leather?) loosely around an old couch…that goes all the way to the floor…? Odd. That rock sink looks like you have to LEAN way over it to wash your hands and make sure not to catch your silk – or nylon! – fabric on the sink or else you’ll come away with pulls in the fabric! Wtf with the neon sign. On the other hand, to me, that seems more her, than farmhouse – as you say. Agree that the bedroom is dreary. It does seem like it’s a mish-mash of styles – which probably makes sense for someone in their 20’s who’s still trying to figure out who she is.
I hate it when books look like they’re staged, color blocked, or covered so that the titles don’t even show. Just silly. Why have them? They’re like plastic surgery gone wrong. Everyone knows that “work has been done” when the look doesn’t make sense. Same thing with the artist brushes. Just not a fan of this place in general.
Man, life goals to have a James Turrell installation in my home! If nothing else, at least she has great taste in regards to an installation artist. I’ve been obsessed with his Three Gems installation at the De Young Museum in SF for decades, and am planning to visit some of his various other landscape installations during my upcoming travels. Of all the various easy/decor art that could be used in a space like this, I do really respect tapping such a special and accomplished artist in her home.
You were criticizing her first closet, but you were not paying attention. That first closet is where she tries on different looks for her jobs. It’s not her official closet. You couldn’t even get her name right. I like the fact that she designed her house in a way that it appealed to her without being pretentious.
Yep you’re correct. I hate those pans. I always look at something on “how do we keep this clean” that’s why I hate vanities that are open underneath. Same with those cloud couches. I never buy a couch without pillows being attached. They get sloppy and old looking fast. And please that bathtub, gross. Chairs if you are going to mix them at least have the same texture whats with that outdoor woven chair being there?
It’s not like I’m a fan of Kardashians lol))) But In one of the interviews she was saying I’m dreaming about moving to some farm and cuddling with animals, so no wonder she chose that farm style… And also she’s the quietest and closed among the sisters, so I think it really matches her personality, not staged imho
I don’t think that Kendall Jenner will use any of the copper pots that are hanging in her kitchen. Pretty much nobody needs 20 little copper pots, they are only decoration. Maybe Jenner has a teflon pan in a drawer. Maybe she never cooks. The kitchen makes her want to cook. That doesn’t mean that she actually did it.
The kitchen, dining room and primary bathroom are ugly, and most of the what we saw doesn’t track with what i imagine in a house with that kind of money. That said, there are some beautiful spots, like that one hallway and the outside areas, and this home has a comfort factor that Kim’s house doesn’t. i’m sure i’d be just a little lowly peasant in her eyes, but i’ll take most of my home over hers any day.
With much respect, your shirt is amazing, however, your nice chair is highly distracting and causes my eyes to go a bit gaga😳. KJ? After seeing your striped chair, yes, her outfit was also blindingly hard to focus on😣. Her home? I see Old World Moroccan inside, hence all the arches, and Spanish outside. I agree about the old couches, loooove the art studio, agree about the overly attempted dining chairs. Love the kitchen, despite the overly large pot rack. The TV room looks like nothing as does the patio dining set. The yard is amazing, as is its chaise lounge. Hate the dressing room + glam room. I liked her bedroom seating area more than her living room. I liked her bedroom, but it’s older and DOES need some personality. Love the tea bar. Agree about the gold tub. Those bathroom wall sconces are horrid. I’m mixed on the closet size. …Cheers.
I didn’t want this to end and hung on to every word. I loved, loved loved this yet I love all your vids. Thanks for the laughs and your time, you nailed my thoughts exactly on the off beat decor of this home. This house could be stunning, I feel bad for the house 😂. Take good care, Design Daddy. ☮️💜
I came here to – well of course read all of the comments and they don’t disappoint!! But also for someone to tell me what the heck ttat neon says in her ‘boudoir’! However I am saddened that you, DD, did not comment on content, subject of the neon. It is Art, with a capitol A. A piece by Tracy Emin. Trying to read it, my curiosity was piqued by the first “22 cm” – oh hello? I screenshot and Googled for editication – “Circumference 20”, “Diameter 4.5”, “Glad to hear your (sic) a happy girl”. Yes, indeed. I would be a very happy girl! Daddy missed on this one!
…good observations, I agree. However, we the Utube viewer spends MORE time perusal YOU vs Kendall home decor! Wish, when you were discussing a rooms positive or negative decor, you would have FREEZED frame on that room / subject vs coming back to perusal you… I almost left 1/2 through. Hope it in the future the viewer is allowed to linger longer on the decor you are reviewing. So far I agree with your decor thoughts.
Hate pd rm sink. Yes, cleaning nightmare!!! I love the hall and courtyard. I’ve always wanted one and I’ve designed homes around one. They aren’t practical in our cold climate. Heating nightmare. I love the kitchen. I like the hanging pots. I hate the bathroom, especially that tub. I pretty much agree with you. The house doesn’t flow well.
Not a Kendall or any Kardashian fan. However, I am not understanding how you can sit and critique her style with her home design, when I am looking at Sears and Roebuck, rust colored backdrop for picture taking. These paper-wall come in many colors, like this 60’s blinds that you pull down, you could have at least chose a faux wall color to blend with that loud chair or your clothing. The chair is a Green and tan sailor stripe that looks comfy but is an eye-sore and painters ladder to the side of the Rust pull screen backdrop, to I don’t know why, maybe pretend you where painting something. And you did not bother to try to pretend coordinate your clothing; the blue blouse and black pants. Nor did you try blend with the chair or the back drop. I am thinking if one is going to make a living critiquing others style or fashion sense, they should at least try to appear like they care about their own. How can I take your advice when your style looks like a hang over?
Why are we even perusal this? Obviously, this young woman had somebody else create her environment, even her studio, which should be full of things she needs for her her own art, not a wall full of useless brushes. $12000 faucet? In France, the copper pots are polished diligently after each use. This is a kitchen to pretend you are a cook, not a kitchen to fulfill your needs as a cook. Empty, empty emptiness, so sad. Hope you design your own closet one of these days.
I’m new to your website and enjoyed your input to style. But I have never heard of peoples homes decorated like they dress?! I’ve always loved mid century modern but dress contemporary. I would never design my home to look like my night out on the town. I love old and warn things metals. It’s like you want design to match how you see the person verses listening to what the person wants. If you listen to why it’s there it makes sense. Also when your hired and people are not sure what they want but know they want this important piece added then you design it and they live in it. That maybe this. You can’t tell me that the designer didn’t get the approval first before making it happen. Her sister likes minimalist and it’s calming to her. I’m glad you say this is your opinion because it sounds like you don’t listen you just want to be opinionated for views.
I highly doubt that some of the most highly sought after designers in LA (Clements Design and Waldo Fernandez) would have paid or offer to pay Kendall to design her house.. lol These are the designers that does Ellen houses.. They are the designers that Kris hired bc she loved Ellen houses. The also does Adam Levine houses, and others.. Kendall also had them do NBA player Devin Booker’s house.
Dear Daddy, I love modern clothes & outfits, yet my home is filled with antique’s. There’s a disconnect there, because I can’t live lifé in ballgowns etc. I love fashion & I love the craftsmanship of antique furniture. We do have modern couches though, modern wallpaper and lots of color. I cannot live in a monochrome or all white house,
Living in California, there is one thing that most do not do, and that is too hang something on the wall behind your bed & that’s because of earthquakes. Of course you can make sure and double bolt & secure it to make sure it wont fall, but just for my peace of mind, I myself don’t have anything hanging behind my bed. Too each his own, but I absolutely LOVE everything about this house.
You’re absolutely right about that gold top hits horrendous !! so tacky looking the copper tub with the bathroom you shoulder don’t know if that’s in your house I don’t think so. That looks great. ! I agree with you on that mismatch room with those two chairs and the table. I like the couch. ! And I like the table, but the table belong somewhere else ! She’s a very bland girl. She is very country possibly. The house is nice but she has either terrible decorating skills or a terrible decorator. !! I’ve seen better looking walk in closets at IKEA ! The master bedroom looks very dreary and depressing to me !! I’m a decorator I like the 1940s the 1920s ! I do like the eclectic look however, it’s not doing well in that place !! I like the bar, so I basically agree with you, those couches in the formal living room look like she got them at a thrift shop !! That dining room with the Mitch match chairs. Oh my goodness they are broken they’re torn off that’s not shabby chic that’s completely shabby 💩 ! But it’s a matter of taste I guess, !! her mom has pretty good taste. I seen her mothers house ! I’m not a fan of these people, but I have seen here and there some of their homes and her mother has pretty good taste but this stuff oh my goodness I hope her taste change someday, but if she is happy and she likes it. Oh well. !
Forget the UP chair, if you say so, it is. Did you see the chainsaw chair next to her gold bathtub? I get the concept of tension through contrast, but that just does not work. It doesn’t evoke interest. Wasabi meets billionaire ghetto lumber jack’s garage sale? Now that makes sense. She probably fired the design firm, and finished it herself. Daddy you liked the hallway, but that was the only space the “designers” didn’t touch.
It looks like she bought things or was given things by designers she was told were the most expensive without any consistent feel, design-is it Spanish, modern, farmhouse, boho, glam, rustic? The brown sofa was terrible, neon in a bedroom with old doors ?? Mish mash hell, the chairs around dining table…no clear aesthetic at all
It looks really trad/boring and old, like a Diane Keaton styled house with antiques vibe, there isn’t anything fresh to contrast against the antiques. Troubled by the Aesop label on the soap container in the bathroom, it looks like a fancy office park bathroom. Do Kylie’s house…I mean I would lose an index finger for Kylie’s house designed by Martin Bullard, her pink dining room alone is beyond.
I love Spanish homes, it’s my favorite style. I’m disappointed with this. There’s no sculptured water fountain of a goddess. No predominance of organic material with beautiful tiles. No Wrought iron, Or beautiful fabrics. I also enjoy sculpture as my favorite form of art along with music and paintings. Even graffiti it just Hass to be right for the space. I don’t think a modern look goes with a Spanish home, It’s disappointing.
Everything looks so fake, fake art studio just to make her look like an artist, fake ’’farmish’’ kitchen where she cooks twice just for the expérience, fake ’’poor humble ’’ old french dining room, fake wabi sabi powder room….the only real authenthic thing is the glam room, the gold tube and the closet, this is how a real unapologetic narcisistic lives
First time perusal one of your articles. My feedback is there should have been more footage on the home…way more…and less footage on you…way less. There was no reason you couldn’t have provided your narration, while we the viewer got to see the home. It seemed like every time I got a shot of the home, I couldn’t relax and take it in, because you’d then switch to showing yourself. So very quickly I got disinterested because I wasn’t getting enough footage of Ms. Jenner’s home, which is why I clicked on your article in the first place. So, I’m going to search on youtube now and find another article showcasing Ms. Jenner’s home where I can actually see it uninterrupted. 🙂
I love the actual house but the way it’s been decorated is disappointing. I’m sure she’s spent a fortune trying to look rustic but the inconsistency in styling, the drab essence, and the lack of clear vision and purpose is such a lost opportunity. Give me your money and tell me what you were trying to achieve and I swear I’ll do a better job! Beauty is definitely wasted in youth!
