Is There Room Behind The Interior Seats Of The Mclaren?

The McLaren 570S is a compact and spacious car with a narrow cabin, limited storage space beyond a narrow armrest box, cupholders, and small glovebox. The rear deck is 145mm lower than the 12C coupe, and new seats have been designed with a smaller squab for the Elva to make it easier to access the footwell. The driving position is excellent, with a slim-rimmed wheel, shapely seats, and a panoramic view thanks to the glassy cockpit.

The 570S offers numerous interior features and packages, including the 2021 interior features and available upgrades. However, the deepest part is just behind the seats, making it difficult to reach in over the bodywork or squeeze behind the flopped-forward seats. Headroom and legroom are similar in both models.

The Solus GT has 150 liters of storage in the front and an additional 58 liters under the tonneau with the Retractable Hard Top up. The car also has a center-mounted driver seat and seats two passengers on each side. The McLaren GT includes more than 20.1 cubic feet of storage, more than many full-size sedans or two-seater supercars. It can be opened in just 15 seconds at speeds of up to 40km/h (25mph) and is stored elegantly beneath a tonneau cover located behind the seats when not in use.

  • Sorry, usually i’m a car nut just need to clear one thing up. The 570s is not quite as good as the 650s and 675lt correct? Also I like that Mclaren have designed their headlights similarly to their logo, although i’m not quite sold on the styling of the 570s bar the tail lights. Once again another great article Tim, I only recently came to your website and i’m well impressed!

  • I think what impresses me most about late model Mclarens (12C – 720s) is that they look right in just about any color. Maybe it’s just me, but most cars seem to have a “correct” color for them, but nothing in Mclaren’s palette looks out of place on the car. They look bold in pearl white, and classy in bright green.

  • Very details demo! Thanks Shmee– I know you have driven a lot of high end supercars and sport cars. I saw your article in OC, Ca. I had visited the Lamborghini dealership there.. Pretty cool. I wondered which supercar you would recommend between a Huracan or Mclaren 570 or the corvette Z06? I have a 2011 gt3rs right now. I love the visceral driving experience. Which one would your choice? I am waiting for a couple years old pre-owned one. Or if it is a corvette. I would get a brand new one. Which car would hold its value best?! Please advice…

  • hey shmee this is just my opinion so you dont have to listen but i honestly think if you were planning on getting a new 570s that you look into an amg gts or the acura NSX. its not that i dont love te 570s its actually quite the opposite i think that McLaren did such a good job on it that it blurs the line between 650s and 675LT and would ultimately take away from the 675LT. i just think you should get the amg gts because its getting rave reviews and is essentially everything that the F-type R wishes it was. The Acura is also retailing for like 100k pounds and i personally just want you to add a Japanese super car to your arsenal.

  • Love the car and it’s design but that tweeter is so hideous, like somebody left a microphone on the dash, must have been an afterthought. The screens could be nicer instead of the big bezels. Did noticed the valet mode, what does that do? So the valet can’t mess around with the car? “that’s good for me to know” did you buy one? 😉

  • IMO the active dynamics panel is not very user friendly and the digital display behind steering wheel has way too many colour combinations that it looks like a 5 year old has used a colouring in book with too many crayons – i think the centre split consoll looks awful and half finished with the gap between the active dynamics panel and the top touch screen panel . not as bespoke as the Aston Martin Superlegerra – just think Mclaren need to up their game on the interior as its too hard core and lets face it most of us wont take the car to a track considering this is meant to be Mclaren’s shot at competing in the GT market place- overall exterior design is on point and much better rear than the 650s
