Is Slippery Rock still a dry town?
Slippery Rock, a borough known for its dry climate, has been grappling with the issue of attracting restaurants that cater to the community’s desire for slow food. In 2001, Slippery Rock citizens voted to allow bars and restaurants to serve alcohol for the first time since the community’s founding in 1798. This change led to the establishment of two new restaurants, Ginger Hill and North Country Brewing, and strengthened SRD’s efforts to attract a hotel. These establishments have significantly increased foot traffic downtown, benefiting all businesses on the street.
SRD surveyed University students, staff, and local shoppers to gather ideas about the development of the downtown area. Working closely with these input, EG and G proposed a two-phase project to revitalize the downtown district’s image and economic vitality and better connect it with the nearby university campus. After assessing community support and fundraising ability, the Main Street renewal plan, called Phase I, was agreed upon.
The Phase I construction plan included upgrading infrastructure, improving street and traffic flow, adding decorative light poles, benches, trash cans, bollards, and bike racks, improving landscape and plantings, creating fifty additional parking spaces, constructing amenities like a gazebo for community gathering, adding two new parks, and repave all sidewalks with a rock pattern in the pavement.

I lived in North Hall for two years and absolutely loved it! I just wanted to take a few minutes to talk to you about the traditional halls …
I will be staying in the north hall as a freshman this fall. On my housing, it says I will be staying in a triple with bath. This is confusing because alums keep telling me that tradition halls don’t have dorms with their own bathrooms! I have no idea if i should be buying toilet paper for my bathroom or getting shower shoes for the communal. Lol
