How To Use A Vray Render To Display Hidden Lines Inside?

This tutorial demonstrates how to achieve realistic interior rendering using 3D SketchUp and V-Ray for SketchUp. It covers setting up and optimizing V-Ray render settings for interior scenes in 3Ds Max, including the use of V-ray two-sided material to improve interior lighting and add realistic details. V-Ray for SketchUp offers various lights essential for a good render, which can be found in the V-Ray toolbar or in the Asset Editor.

V-Ray Product Specialist Ricardo Ortiz uses an interior scene to demonstrate how these powerful new additions can accelerate creative processes and add extra details. To create a clean hidden line render, one can drop the resolution with VRAYTOON and then combine the render with a sketchup monochrome line output placed on top in Photoshop using a “multiply” layer mode.

To show mortise/tenon as hidden dashed lines, one must change their ridge and rafter tags to dashed. Internal lines can be rendered or solely outline, and it is important to mention the version of V-Ray and SketchUp used when creating the render. Line and shadow backgrounds with the hidden line above work pretty well to give a classic shadowed elevation look.

In summary, this tutorial provides tips and tricks for creating realistic interior rendering using 3D SketchUp and V-Ray for SketchUp. By following these steps, users can achieve realistic interior rendering and scale up their architectural visuals.
