This video provides step-by-step instructions for replacing a water filter on a Whirlpool refrigerator. To remove a stuck water filter, turn it a quarter turn to the left, aligning the cap vertically. Pull the water filter straight out and remove the cap (on some models). Make sure to place the cap on the new filter. If the water filter is inside the refrigerator, remove any food or beverages that might obstruct your access. Turn off the ice maker if your refrigerator features one to prevent a blinking water filter replacement light.
