Is it possible to get the cylinder knob off if it is unlocked (with the thumb turn) but I don’t have the keys? The previous tenant left a bunch of Schlage commercial knobs installed but they can’t be unscrewed because the screws are covered with a cap that can’t be removed unless you remove the “unsecured” knob (one with the thumb turn) from the assembly. It seems wasteful to tear them off with pliers rather than rekey them. The push pin seemed to get the lock cylinder knob off of one unit that had a broken latch, but not the others.

Worked for me.. I needed to replace the entire set, and my inside knob had a rosette covering the screws . The same technique you showed, also worked to remove the inside knob. Mine had a small round hole on both inside and outside, but I didn’t need to remove the outside knob. Just turned the key, poked a skinny tool into the hole, and pulled the inner knob off. Awesome job on the vid, straightforward help, thanks.
My established door knob with a locking key (external) and a snip lock (interior) had an its rose plates loose. Unfortunately I disassemble the interior knob instead of the external know with the key. Now when I assembled the interior know back I am not able to turn the interior snip lock. What should I do now to exterior door knob with key inserted is properly turned to for the internal door knob to be reassembled with the interior snip lock able to to be turned freely?
