How To Take Out Interior Trim Elements From The Back?

This video demonstrates how to remove interior trim pieces in a Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S. The process involves detaching the boot from the console, lifting the boot retainer at one corner, and working around the edges to free the boot. Grab the trim piece from inside the boot opening and pull it free of the console. Work your way to the rear, slowly pulling up as you work back towards the arm rest/storage compartment.

The video also covers how to remove the interior trim pieces of the FRS/BRZ/86 platform. To do this, put the four screws back on and slide the shift boot around the reverse lookout lever. It is important not to pull the trim all the way down, as it can be difficult to put it back on the lockout lever.

Seat removal involves removing lower seat cushions by removing two 10mm bolts exposed at the front edge. Push down on the rear edge of the seat cushion to release it from a position. The easiest trim pieces to remove are those on the door handles, rings on the side air vents, and two large pieces on the dashboard.

To remove traction control buttons, remove two Phillips screws and pull the entire trim up. Remove the rubber seal tubing around the door frame, take out the rear cushion by removing the single bolt holding it on, and pull on the spring clips on the back side of the door card.

In summary, this video provides a step-by-step guide on how to remove interior trim pieces in a Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S.
