This guide provides a step-by-step guide on how to remove and re-install shutters that were installed with Shur-Lok fasteners. Interior shutters are usually hinged to the window frame, and can be removed by fully opening the shutters. Vinyl shutters attached with spikes can be uninstalled with moderate force. To repair, loose pieces should be removed, tightened connections, and reinstalled securely using thread lock adhesive.
Rolling shutters may need to be brought along when moving to a new home or taken down for quick repair or adjustment. Wood shutters should be cleaned weekly and monthly to remove pet hair, dust, and bugs. Quick Snap Shutters are stationary panel shutterlouvers that attach directly to the shutter’s frame and tilt open or closed to create the desired lighting effect.
The fasteners used in this guide are non-reusable plastic nails designed to go into the wall of the shutter. The guide also covers removing, labeling, painting, and reinstallation of exterior house shutters.
To remove shutter fasteners, open the paper door of the camera, locate and remove the screws on the top and bottom edge of the inside of the camera. Pull the camera shutter cap from its slot on the display back cover and remove it from the camera module. Clean around the button with a toothpick.
The guide emphasizes the use of solid resin construction for durability and insulator, as well as the importance of rewinding film before processing and loading a new roll of film. Drill out the middle of the shutter-lok with a 1/8″ bit and use stainless shutter screws and caps. Peel the two conductive tapes that secure the camera module in place.

Thanks for making this. It was helpful. I replaced all my shutters in August of 2022, and they worked great. I noticed today that the anchors on the top half of most of my 13 shutters have now broken. I have no idea why they would have broken. They went in and snugged up just fine when I put them on originally. Any thoughts on that?
