HGTV does not provide free renovations or discounted goods for TV shows, but sometimes contributes construction funds to enhance and speed up projects. The main draw is working with HGTV designers, who often create backward books that are smaller in scale but large in impact. This is typically due to copyright issues rather than a new-age design trend. Despite the out-of-pocket expense, the main draw is still getting to work with HGTV designers.

Thank you Jeff for the things you do! You are the only one who knows how much effort it takes for making such articles. I am perusal you from Bulgaria and even though many things are different in Eastern Europe, the things you show are applicable here too. Please keep making these great articles, because there aren’t many youtubers that give so much detailed information as you do.
Hi Jeff, great series of articles – very informative – thanks! I’m planning on finishing my basement and part of it will have an unfinished painted ceiling but I want to “finish” the space between the joists at the foundation wall. what would you suggest – drywall, aspenite, rigid foam insulation… I’m looking for cheapest and ease of install – it’s just for aesthetics – just to cover the plastic sheet wrap. I appreciate you input.
Congrats on the new show! Could you ever do a article on how to lower a structure to the ground without heavy equipment? I have a kids playhouse that they want at ground level now.. can’t get crane in and need a way to lower it .. any suggestions? On four posts and basically a 10/8 shed 4’ off the ground
Jeff, Didn’t know where to ask this question so I placed it here. I’m in the process of upgrading the joists on our old farm house. I spent a lot of time and energy using a laser level to install the joist hangers and when I installed the joists they very in width by 1/2 inch. Is this something that needs to be dealt with before it bites me in the but later in the remodel? Do I add spacers and or trim the boards as needed? 16 ft 2x12s are tough enough handling the first time.
I told you back in the beginning that some day you guys were going to be big! I told you that you were going to be a star!!!!
