How To Remove A Door Knob From An Interior?

To replace an old or faulty doorknob, you don’t need to call a handyman. With the right tools and know-how, you can easily do so yourself. To do this, first disassemble and remove the existing knob by looking for a small slot or hole on the lock side of the knob. Then, use a flathead screwdriver or Allen wrench to insert the screws into the slot and press firmly to release the hidden locking mechanism. Gently pull the interior knob away from the door.

Replace a door knob with or without screws, and both locking and non-locking types. This simple DIY project can make your home more secure and stylish. For privacy door knob sets, use needle nose pliers to remove the mechanism when freed so it doesn’t drop inside the door interior.

The most straightforward method is to use a metal drill bit to core out the lock. Once all the pins fall out or break, you should be able to separate the two halves of the lock. If you don’t see screws, they may be hidden under the metal trim.

In summary, replacing an old or faulty doorknob is a simple DIY project that can make your home more secure and stylish. By following these steps, you can easily replace your door knob and make your home more secure and stylish.

  • 14:20 is one of my fave examples of how GM is different from plat/diamond. you’re shooting at the Junkrat expecting him to go back for cover but because it’s a low rank, he stands out in the open instead, and you miss all your storm arrows except 1 lol sometimes GM’s are easier to predict than plat/diamond because they follow the rules of ‘being good’ but the lower then ranks, the more ‘chaos’ is involved.

  • These UR2GM’s are really a pleasure to witness, you get to watch a master of the game effortlessly demolish other highly skilled players. This one was in my opinion the most entertaining one I’ve seen yet. As Awkward has said, there are levels to the gameplay, and he is quite literally at the very highest level. Looking forward to the next one. I think symmetra would be a fun one.

  • When he gave advice for a Tracer vs Hanzo 1v1, just a few games ago I was getting destroyed by a Hanzo, if you’re facing a good Hanzo. Sometimes not moving when you’re going to blink really fucks them over. In essence, try not to autopilot vsing Hanzo. Think about your movement. Sometimes fighting the Hanzo isn’t worth it either, if the Hanzo focuses you, you can focus someone else quicker than he can

  • I main hanzo, but I’m hardstuck low masters atm, I was hardstuck plat for YEARS then right at the end of a season (a few ago) I just broke through and shot through, but honestly when I’m carrying as hanzo, my teammates are the biggest hindrance (not so much in my low masters matches, but on my second which is stuck in low plat for example?

  • I think sometimes, GM players forget that the skill of the overall player base has gone up. Current Plat is like Low masters high diamond OW1. The biggest differences between ranks is consistency, positioning, decision making, and play speed. From what I’ve seen lately there doesn’t seem to be a huge mechanical gap in the non-metal ranks like there used to be.

  • He says that there’s no one giving out good hanzo advice nowadays. What about Arrge? He’s done plenty of educational articles about improving movement aswell as how to predict where they’ll go on hanzo. Especially considering the fact that hanzo is a projectile-based hero. Also, Awkward doesn’t seem to teach the very important way of thinking on hanzo where you go for the enemy behind the one in front of you. Arrge does. The same thing works for hog.

  • It’s funny seeing all these glazers in the comments for awkward as well as arrge, i love them both but they both talk about different play styles. 1 is more universal while the other takes more patience. You also can make your own playstyle, at the end of the day these dudes goal is to teach you the basics not to tell you exactly how to play

  • Bro I need help. I play dps and every game I play I’m getting picks on healers during team fights but my team keep dying. I go in do damage retreat back and my healers don’t look at me. I try to take the blame for every lost game but I went 40 2 and lost and I wasn’t even focusing the tank to get the damage or kills. And the thing is I win in quick play and perform well but I can’t get out of gold

  • Dude I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, I’m hardstuck in silver right now. I keep going on win streaks but then go on a losing streak and I consistently have more damage and kills than any other DPS with few deaths in the game. I just don’t know how you can have a 95% win rate when so much of the match is determined by whether or not your supports and tank are shitters or sweats. I come from CS so I have an aim background and play really well with. The best I can manage is like a 60-65% win rate and I’m HARD CARRYING

  • First, I want to tank you Awkward for the knowledge you share… I became a better player for sure. But there is a thing.. every time you say your team don’t matter and it’s not holding you back from ranking up, is not completely true. Why? Because overwatch is a team based game and for example you are gold or platinum or diamond or whatever rank and want to rank up and your performance is slightly better, you have better stats, you clutch up 2/3 times during the game but you lose the game (1. You could do better, 2. You expected your teammates to do their job in a order to win, but they failed multiple times more than you, more than the enemy’s team) .. So you tell everybody:”Be better”. They are better, but not the best and even if they perform better than their teammates and enemy’s same role, they will have problems to rank up because it’s not realistic to compensate for your team so much…As a player I expect to develope my skills slow and consistent in a order to rank up, its almost impossible to drastically improve yourself and kill the whole enemy’s team like you do for example. So my point is that most of the people want to see their progress and be able to climb up the ranks when they are slightly better. The experience will be so much rewarding. So last words – you are in diamond and have to have gm skills to win in diamond lobbies consistently… it’s not realistic and also frustrating when you have teammates who don’t perform equal or slightly better and you must hard carry almost every single game.

  • I’m a master at souls games and souls likes. But I can’t seem to translate that to shooters. Even in COD I have way more success with a knife than a gun. No joke I’ve consistently gotten to the top of lobbies using knives only. I eventually took a break from overwatch and played something I’m good at, lies of p, way more fun

  • He really is the avg hanzo 😂😂😂 I’m out here hardstuck plat and I shoot my sonic radar cross map and hit ppl or I roll out while my team try to cover corner I miss old hanzo the one taps were so worth just to flank I could get 3k-4K easy but then I have to deal with the tank cuz my team always dies or a tank and support :/

  • Hey Awkward, just got to the point in the stream where you are talking about sparkling water and I see all the bottles you have, personally I use a Soda Stream so I only need to refill the Co2 cartridge and it lets me choose the amount of bubbles I want, would recommend as it saves space that would otherwise be taken up by all the bottles. Love the content, have a great day 🙂

  • @awkward can you please do a bronze to grandmaster because I can assure you some of the lobbies in the lower ranks are legit trolling you or leaving constantly. You are really fun to watch and a great teacher but like itztimmy doing his bronze to radiant or bronze to pred, it provides a lot more context to some of the more unskilled players on what to do in those situations.

  • I was perusal the article in between games and just taking what your saying into consideration while playing is making me so much better as a hanzo especially in the new season it’s amazing thank you so much it’s such a difference that my teammate and enemy team is acknowledging my hanzo gameplay thank you awkward!

  • Awkward, all these people claiming that your aim is carrying you and saying that they can’t do what you do because of your aim. You should do a U2GM with Moira just to lay that bs to rest 😂 Show them how you climb the ranks on a character that doesn’t even have aiming mechanics in her kit and ask them why there are so many silver ranked Moiras who can’t climb

  • I think anyone learning hanzo and seeing the article title say “95% winrate” should not assume they are going to get a winrate like that even if you apply all the advice. For the average player, hanzo’s mechanical skill takes time to develop and become consistent in. The picks awkward gets on a pharah, someone pre fight; completing these finishing blows makes a HUGE difference on hanzo. If you cant hit these shots, you will be in famine more than feasting.

  • “Dps shouldn’t be on the on the point, they should be off angling and doing damage”, “Support shouldn’t be on the point, they are vulnerable there”, “Tanks shouldn’t be on point, they should be making space”. Who the hell takes the point then? Then people wonder why C9 is a thing. Get what you’re saying, but to be honest it’s not the best advice for the average player. If everyone follows this the point never gets taken.

  • “But what if your aims bad” “Keep playing till you get better” “What?” People act like Top 500’s were born with that aim. As if they dont play hours every day to build that skill. Its like the people who complain about not losing weight but then wont stay on a routine for longer than 2 weeks. It takes a lot longer than 2 weeks to see progress but you will see it if you just keep going. You got to have patience and dedication. You dont become a bodybuilder by sitting on the couch and eating chips. And you wont hit gm by sitting on the couch and eating chips.

  • So excited to watch this as a Reaper main. I recently hit my peak of M3 only by playing Reaper, and all it took was mindset changes and not expecting much if anything at all from my teammates. However, now I am a bit stuck and feel like I need to watch you do this to see what I can get from it as I’ve been loving other content of yours I’ve been seeing.

  • dear @awkward, i would like to say i have been dreaming of a day where I watch your unranked to GM on reaper, as it’s my fav dps. when i saw the thumbnail i was truly happy. a massive thankyou. i’ve been doing half of the steps u take, and with this article it made me realise i’m still not fully utilising what you are doing, so thank you for showing the way. a quick question: i’m in silver now, nowhere near the top – and im having trouble with the ‘flyers’, pharah and mercy – should i then focus on those enemies on the ground and get them whenever i can? I was also shocked that there was really sirens in the article, i did not expect that. I will pray for you and hope you are safe and well. Thank you Awkward!

  • Hey Awkward, just wanted to say thanks for the articles. I have a 3 man group made up of some old friends and we get together twice a week to play and catch up. We always enjoyed comp and we never really climbed out of low bronze and silver. Today, I got into gold for the first time in my Overwatch history, I was ecstatic and just wanted to say thanks for your lessons. Really has made a difference!

  • I love reaper since the launch of OW1 back in the day. I think nobody play it well because a few people played it competitively after season 2. Most people tends to follow the meta, even if they are not concerned by it because they are in plat (or any rank below top 500). But reaper is a good flanker, it should be play kinda like a tracer with a little less mobility but with 250hp and far less aim intensive. off angle or surprise a healer and boom 2 meatshot and it”s dead. I think this is a really good pick for those who want a easy climb out of platine and diamond and it is criminally underrated.

  • I would love to see you do an unranked to GM on any character that has a stabilized low mmr. Like an account with 100-200 hours and is already in bronze. Not as a regular thing, but with the system realizing you are so much skilled so much faster on a new unranked account it can make it feel like our progress is so much slower in comparison. I would love to see you climb from Bronze to GM on a seasoned account just so we can see how fast we can expect that to happen for us while taking your advice. I know that the process of ranking up normally is much much slower, especially since we aren’t as good, but I’m curious how fast it would be if we play exactly as you say. Thanks for the great work and sorry for the long comment. Hopefully you read this!

  • Just wanted to say thank you for your awesome and entertaining articles! perusal you has helped me climb from high gold / low plat to high diamond / low masters just by incoorporating your tips and I’m sure if I had a little better mechanical skill I could go even higher 😅 So thank you again, stay awesome and stay safe! ❤

  • Please do another one. We need to see how u deal with teammates who don’t heal or engage and u have to carry the whole team. How to deal with turrets and bastion playing with a dva who eats all your dmg. Or when your 4 steps need to be adjusted because of team comp and why and what they are going to be. This is not enough info.

  • Hi Awkward I used to play Overwatch 1 when it was available for free on weekends because I couldn’t afford the game and I loved playing Reaper all the time, when Overwatch 2 came out I had no idea on how to play anything but your Unranked to GM guides have helped me so much at becoming a better player. Love your mentality and how you teach things, not just about the game but also about real life. Thank you for creating such amazing content for us. Please be safe.

  • All the craziness going on out there and your here still educating and having fun on this game. I don’t mean this in any weird way but I genuinely love you as a gaming brother. I strive so hard to be better in all that i do and I have definitely learned the logic of good positioning and the ingenious thinking it takes to roll the enemy team. But above all else the attitude you encourage to never give up, and to keep a level head. Seriously I wish you only safety and that whatever political drama is going on that it ends swiftly without hurting you or your loved ones. Thank you so much, friend, I am wishing only more content from you. But remember to always be safe.

  • Reaper is literally the cavalry from ancient and early modern history. Its not thay complicated. Like all things, you need to know ehrn to strike. Not too soon and definetly not too late. Wait for the bulk army to lock in with the enemy bulk. Then pinch. Then you disengage. The horses want to use momentum. Locking in will get you killed and be wildly ineffective. Just keep hammering them and wethering them like a wave crashing against the flanks

  • 1st of all – I hope you’re safe and doing well with all of this 2nd – dmg name; before they are called Offensive (with the atual DPS symbol) and Defensive (with a chess tower symbol) then they change it to DAMAGE – we, as community, call them DPS just because we use this terminology in other games too 3rd – can you make (more) Unranked to GM Tank heroes? I think is the role the people struggles more this days and I find your kind of content the most educational (Unranked to GM) ones

  • People really out here thinking that unranked to gm effects there games. The odds of you actually getting a gm in your games is so low. Plus you know one game doesn’t make the difference. Watch the article and actually learn instead of complaining. Made it to diamond after being trapped in gold far a year after perusal this.

  • I’ve watched some of Awkward’s articles before, and he does give good advice and tends to encourage a good state of mind (looking for ways to improve yourself instead of blaming others) however, I cant take this article seriously when you start off “unranked” in Masters. Like… seriously. No unranked account starts in Masters. But I suppose i dont need to see you smashing silvers and golds so I guess that’s okay. But seriously, unranked does not equal Masters.

  • You are amazing even though i cant keep to the plan on all your ur2gm but love perusal these over amd over and over Ps, Stay safe these are troubling times but lets hope it ends soon. Everything going on in the world is upsetting and i hope it doesnt lead to more innocents suffering stay safe andale sure your family is safe. Im not religious but im praying for all of your family and country safety

  • It’s funny because a lot of these tips can also apply to Winston. Letting a tank make contact by passing by a choke unaware of where you are then bubbling them off from supports/dps. Not using Leap to always engage but often to disengage. Using right click to poke and always doing damage. Obviously it’s a bit different but also funnily similar in a way.

  • One of the best Reaper tuto out there, I reached high diamond with Reaper by playing him moslty like an aggressiv frontliner but I struggle a lot everytime I have no Zarya or Lucio on my team, the flanker playstyle is much more powerfull and I feel I can maybe reach high master with this level of play.

  • Great explanations and teaching for reaper. Thank you for sharing this. Usually i am not a fan of the smurfing or ranking from low to high as a higher ranked player etc(lluckily most skip majority of the lower ranks) but considering where they placed and how useful and informative the article is, it is an outlier to most of them and welcomed.

  • Just saying, if you are playing on a unranked account only on gm lobbies, thats grandmasters to grandmasters, not unranked to grandmasters, you didnt have a single troll or bad teammate in the shown games, not a single tilted soul to destroy a game, not all games are gonna be like this, on the end of the day its a team game and not solo, if your entire team trolls, you wont win.

  • Hi, Awkward! Love the guide. Attempted to implement these tips in my gameplay. Here are 2 issues that I have: 1. Teleport ability mechanical usage – whenever the end point is slightly elevated, the game forces the marker to be on the very edge. For example, I want to teleport inside the room further, but the game only allows me to teleport to an unsafe open area in front of the room’s doorway. Also, I often find the marker flickering in and out of existence, requiring precise ability aim for a teleport in some places. I find this ability really strange and it looks like it will take a lot of getting used to. 2. Flanking feels strange on Reaper if you don’t have enough map knowledge. Unless you already know the angles in every map, It can be difficult to find a straight line for teleport and at the same time keep it from being obvious to the enemy team. And you have to make sure that your destination is a good position too. One complex knowledge check – something I hate in absolutely every game, not just in Overwatch. Regardless of these issues, I was able to make Reaper work in general thanks to this guide of yours. Details can be learnt later, what matters is that the general direction is correct.

  • Who actually benefits from this? Like his first game is masters 4. Its clear that hes a very good player and reaches gm easily because thats his rank. What exactly is the average player going to learn from this, teaching them what to do in a masters game isnt going to work in bronze-plat, which is where most players are. A bronze to gm would be more beneficial

  • tbh theres no hope for OW2 anymore, EVERYTIME im about to rank up my dps i get the worst games and subsequent loss streaks. Breaks and even going away for days at a time dont change the toxic coinflips i get every matach. And when ive finally gotten enough losses to start ranking up thats when i start getting wins ._. so fed up.

  • I like your articles although not all people can play the heroes so confidently like you do. You know exactly what you can and cannot do in any situation. This is very different for someone in silver, plat etc. People tend to be very passive because they lack confidence in their skills to play the hero like it should be played. If you could focus a little more to that it would be great.

  • your other 2 ranks are gm brother. of course it put you in a master lobby game 1, and its impossible to teach people how to do all of these same maneuvers in gold and plat when their tank is diving into the enemy backline and healers are dpsing. show us how to carry a team that is playing like THAT! great article with great tips but youre probably gonna need a fresh account for these vids. that kings row game was a dissection.

  • A nicely done article, and ofcourse LOVE seeing Reaper at all, I would say everything is a yes but also a no b’cuz I have to constantly change my playstyle. For example try to do something even if It’s just distraction absolutely, but I don’t really agree with the dmg as Reaper I think is better if You get picks rather then do high dmg for a simple reason, ult economy. But overall have no problems with the tips I just think Reaper is way harder then It seems

  • I main tank and support but I want to learn to get good at DPS as its what I started playing with but eventually fell out of quickly when I was better at the other two roles, its been hard finding a character to main as I have only seemed to do well as pharah and meh at bastion . Thought reaper or sombra would we worth a try as I like playing dive the most

  • Game 1 is the perfect example of how anyone can make a mistake. Just because your team suck doesnt mean you dod everything in your power to win. In game 1 a former rank 1 player made 1 massive mistake (holding ult for far too long and missing multiple good ult spots) if even a rank 1 player is making mistakes why wouldnt you in plat be making mistakes

  • One thing I feel about distracting is while yes you are taking one person of their team away from the fight you are also away from the fight, I feel like the real value only comes if oyu get the pick from the distraction or make it back to the fight first other wise youre giving the other team the same advantage you would get if they died.

  • this isn’t necessarily a problem, but I follow your advice, and then the entire enemy team targets me and sometimes I’m not good enough to stay alive, and they just kick my ass lol. But i climbed from silver to diamond 5 on dps and support. Prayers for you and everyone experiencing hardships because of the conflicts going on.
