  • I’m just glad I get to see Macenna’s face once again before the year ends 😊 You’re amazing, girl. Just WOW. Every article, I am blown away by how methodically, skillfully, and joyfully you accomplish things to perfection. After all this, you still do things with the same zeal and joy. And that’s brilliant. Have a fantastic time off and see you and the cottage with Romeo, Kinsley and Mama C in the new year.

  • You don’t know me but I feel like a proud sister. I got emotional perusal this because I’ve been a follower from the start and it just amazes me how much you and Romeo have accomplished. • macenna, what a year it has been! you have taught me so much & given me the courage to try new things. you inspire me every day and i love the moments when i get to enjoy your uploads. sometimes i sit down, relax, and put you on the tv. sometimes i watch/listen while i get ready or do a chore. but i always look forward to your content. i can’t wait to see what is to come in the new year and i’m so excited for the podcast! you have accomplished so much and i hope you are so proud of your hard work! enjoy this time to recuperate and rest, it is so well deserved! xoxo

  • One of the thing that I loved about these renovations is your planning. At first when an outsider looks, it seems you picked up random projects and went with it. Until you talked about it; one comes to know that the surrounding and environment became one of the big factor that you choose next project. It also provide a framework for someone who is planning on something this big. They will have a base from where to start without feeling exhausted and overwhelmed

  • I love that you chose to do a retrospective as your final reno article of the year! So much for you to accomplish in a year – I’m glad you have it all in article so you can have a true realization of just how impressive and inspiring you are! Im very excited to see what all’s in store for the upcoming year! Happy New Year and wishing you all the happiness and success in 2023! 🎊🎉🎊

  • MaCenna you and Romeo have made incredible progress on what will be a show stopper. Being a total fixer upper this compilation article shows us your hard work and dedication to making this home your own. In the end you both can step back and proudly say we built this home. I’m totally in awe of every single article. ❤

  • Congratulations on an epic year MaCenna! You are a DIY master. It’s so inspirational seeing a woman tackle all of these big physical renovation projects. I’m so impressed by how you just figure it out and get stuck into it. And because you have such a researched approach and eye for detail – you do a fantastic job! I can’t believe how much energy you put into everyday, it would take me 20 years to get to where you currently are. Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful journey with us. And do please take a long long break! ✨💛✨

  • my gosh, seeing all of this in one article really does hit home just how much you accomplished in 2022! wow, simply amazing and inspiring. Give yourself a pat on the back! I have enjoyed perusal the progress from the moment you opened the front door when you were house hunting, to the final holiday decorating touches on the living room shelves, MaCenna! The very first article I watched of yours was the one where you were organizing under the kitchen cabinets in your LA apartment, and I have seen almost every post since then, and I can’t tell you how much your growth has inspired me! happiest new year to you and Romeo and family!

  • This article gives me ALL THE FEELS. 😭 I’ve been perusal your website for several years now, and it felt like we were looking back at our year of renovations… obviously not the case, but that’s how invested in your website and success I’ve become! You’ve inspired me to learn new skills and tackle similar projects of my own. Even though we’ve never met, I am so thankful for you and the amazing work you’ve done. Wishing I didn’t have to go three weeks without an XO, MaCenna vid, but girl you deserve a BREAK! Happy holidays to you, Romeo, Kinsley, and the rest of your family! Sending love from Columbus, OH ❤

  • Discovered your home renovation journey last week & I’ve binge watched every night! I’m all caught up now… my daughter is a freshman in high school & she aspires to become an architect, I’ve been perusal with her because it’s important to me that she sees another woman building something from the ground up! Thank you for documenting EVERYTHING, the highs & the lows. We truly appreciate you for it over here & we can’t wait to see what the future brings to the Comfort Cottage. Rock on!

  • WOW, I followed this project from The Netherlands and loved every minute of it. A huge compliment for everything you accomplished up untill now; it turned out to be a lovely house!! And huge congratulations on purchasing your new family home in California, it’s incredibly beautiful – great to see your dreams come true! And thank you ever so much for sharing all of this with us!! ❤

  • Fantastic work Macena! This is so inspiring and wonderful for me to follow your journey through your home renovation. It’s pure bliss to be invited into your family’s life and see that side of the world, including all the flea markets and estate treasures you and your mom have found in various places. Warm hugs from me in Sweden.

  • That is amazing what you’ve done. I kinda discovered you after you had walls & just the amount of work done since then is a wonderful accomplishment & you should feel proud. You’ve given me some ideas to DIY my living spaces & can’t wait for the holidays to be over so I can start. Looking forward to seeing the kitchen completed & see where you go from there. I enjoy your website so much..thank you & God bless you both in 2023. Kinsey too. 🥳❤👍

  • I remember when she bought this house and how she said it would take forever and I was excited but also wanted it to happen! 2 years later, and your content is what I look forward to! I can’t believe it’s been this long! You’ve accomplished so much in this time! Thanks for letting me come on the journey with you! ♥️🫶🏡

  • An amazing accomplishment over this year. Everything you have done has turned out impeccably beautiful. Your attention to detail is remarkable and your skills in building can stand up to any professional contractor’s. I am looking forward to see what you accomplish next in this outstanding renovation. Wishing you, Romeo, Kinsley, and your family many blessings in the coming year.

  • When you said you bought the house in 2021 it honestly blew my mind to think we’ve been on this journey with you for two years! You guys have accomplished an incredible amount in such a short period of time-I’m truly in awe. So excited to see the rest of your vision come to life (after your well needed and deserved break). Happy New Year MaCenna and Romeo!

  • MaCenna, I love your house sooo much!!! Thank you for taking us along on this journey with you, Romeo, Kinsley, and Mama. You have such a great relationship with your mom and it’s so fun perusal the two of you together. I’m looking forward to seeing where the new year takes you. Enjoy your vacation, while the rest of us go through two weeks of MaCenna withdrawal. :p

  • As I told you earlier, you inspired me sooooo much this year. We renovated our house in Belgium and did also everything by ourself. We Just finished the kitchen yesterday. Thank you for everything you share. And I am exited about the podcast too. Love it. Happy New year to both of you from Belgium. 🤍🥰

  • This article was amazing ! Even though I have followed you for a long time and have watched every article about the cottage renovation, this article REALLY impressed upon me just how VERY MUCH you have accomplished in such a short time. It has been an incredible journey and I am so looking forward to all the content to come. You are an incredible young woman with the most inspiring personality and drive. You prove that women can do ANYTHING if they put their minds to it and keep trying. Enjoy you time off …..Happy NEW YEAR to you and your family !!

  • What an AMAZING recap article. Sadly I was not able to watch EVERY article of yours this year, but it was nice for me to also go, “Ahh yes I remember when MaCenna did that!” And look back at the year with you. What amazing accomplishments. Your home is coming together beautifully. Congrats and cheers to 2023!!

  • Happy New Year to you and your family! You have accomplished so much this past year that I hope you can continue your renovations successfully into the new year with the same success. I enjoy perusal your progress and seeing your results. I have so much respect for you two in tackling jobs, many for the first time, and always with enthusiasm. Wish you the best for the new year!

  • Happy new year Macenna and to many more fun diy’s and renovating!! We have also been busy renovating our 1920’s dutch house for 2 years (still not done) and been living in a construction site since the start,so I get you 😂 and we are also doing everything ourselfs, even drywalling the whole house, electrical and plumbing etc etc. Good luck with the rest of the renovations, hopefully we and you guys will be done completely soon!! 😁 Greetings from the Netherlands 😊

  • Oh WOW!!! A lot of the behind-the-scenes that we can’t even see as it is happening !! I just go WOW, y’all really did accomplish so MUCH MORE than what you show us in your clips (Videos/Vlogs) but then again I do know that there is no way you can get it all within the time of each article or vlog!! You have taken us from the nothing to the finish looks and it all looks so gorgeous and in my opinion better than a contractor & his sub-contractors could have done if not 1000% better just simply b/c you have more of a love for your own project (Your HOME)! OMG, that house has transformed so much and your not even finished! It still has so many more rooms to do and transform, but MaCenna, it looks so beautiful!!! Can’t wait to see what you have in store for all of us in 2023!! Happy New Year! Enjoy your time off and thanks for the year’s progress !! You should be very proud of all of it!!! It’s spectacular!!!! Until next year !!

  • So much work you accomplished this year! I have been inspired to take on projects, including decorating my home. Looking forward to your podcast. I hope you set yourself up in a similar way as you did in this article. I cannot stand when presenters set themselves in a corner (plus it is terrible feng shui). Best wishes to you and your loved ones.

  • This was so great to see it special when I’m a fan of yours to watch you work and the progress you made so outstanding!! So much information you give out!! I’m not afraid to tackle anything or up cycle materials I thank you for that! Thank you for sharing your hard work you should be so proud of yourself and you deserve a break i you and your family has a beautiful New Years and wait to see what you bring this year!!

  • I’ve really enjoyed looking at you build this home. What a journey you went through. Thank you. Give a lot of hugs and kisses to Kinsley. What an adorable pooch. You can’t help but love this dog. God bless her. I hope you, Romeo, and your wonderful parents have a safe and healthy New Year. God bless you all.

  • Your renovation is absolutely incredible. You are able to see and comprehend how things go together and how to make something yours. I commend you for all the time and effort you have put into this wonderful piece of art. I’m glad you showed your reaction to the kilz. That’s very frightening to have something like that happen but I’m glad you know what caused it. I hope you had a lovely Christmas and can’t wait for 2023.💕💕

  • You are brilliant and a hard worker! People would not believe you did this without seeing your articles. I told all my friends and family about you, and they all said “holy shit!” 😂. Congratulations, you are a great inspiration to all of us! I’m gonna try tackling a few diy’s myself in the new year! Merry Christmas and happy new year to you and your family! ❤🇨🇦

  • Congrats on your GREAT and beautiful work!! You are absolutely amazing!! You are such an inspiration for so many of us! Being a professional artist for 20 years I’ve accomplished a lot in my life so far. But you have inspired me in a way that nothing or no one else has ever done. A new passion is born within me. Thanks to you! Have a well deserved break and restore that energy to tackle more inspirational work. We will wait for you. Just take the time you need. Big hugs from Sweden! <3 Wish you a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
