Dear Ashley, thank you for a beautiful article. I am all for the Traditional Style. I am renting a very small apartment in a beach town and the main focus in the small living room is a white wooden sleeper couch with a plain grey mattress. Which colours do you suggest I use for the curtains and scatter cushions? Will floral curtains with yellow and grey be suitable for such a small room? Thank you 🌹
Omg ❤every moment of this article Ashley!!!! Love timeless Traditional!!!! I honestly wonder about incorporating some African elements into this design style and how it would look? Especially since I love Mediterranean/Spanish style exteriors, but would love to do modern furniture with traditional silhouettes with some African decor and warm earthy neutrals and lots of natural materials and textures. Not sure if that makes any sense, but I see it in my head. 😅
Thank you for educating me on a wide range of design styles. Since my design style is very eclectic, there are elements of each style you’ve presented that I can embrace, without making my home look like a mishmash. For example, keeping a neutral color scheme for my home, and using symmetry, really works with any design style. I do lean more traditional, mainly because that’s the beautiful furniture I inherited from my grandparents. However, I also like Arts and Crafts style, some organic modern elements and some Asian influences. By explaining the elements of each style, it helps me to break it down and understand what works and doesn’t work for my eclectic tastes. My notebook is getting full of ideas!!! ❤
