Tesla recommends regular cleaning and vacuuming of the interior of a vehicle to maintain performance and an as-new appearance. An all-purpose cleaning kit can be purchased on the Tesla shop. The white Tesla interior looks like after 50,000 miles, and it is essential to revitalize and preserve the leather interior. The natural fibers of leather will break down with time, and harsh elements like UV rays, sulfurous, and other elements can cause damage.
The Model Y is the easiest car to clean, except for its size. The user has used various products for interior cleaning, including P and S Xpress Interior Cleaner and Detail Factory Synthetic Detailing. The steps for cleaning the interior of a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y are easy to follow. For general cleaning, surfaces should be wiped using a soft cloth dampened in warm water. Open up doors and clean one at a time, spraying interior cleaner on surfaces, being careful around speakers. Moisten a soft cloth with warm water and mild soap and gently wipe the stain in a circular motion. Wipe dry using a soft, lint-free cloth. Do not blow dry.
For spills and stains, wipe spills and chemical residues from interior surfaces as soon as possible. Moisten a soft cloth with warm water and mild soap and gently wipe the stain in a circular motion. Do not blow dry. A homemade spray bottle of Dr Bronners Sal Suds with 1:5 white vinegar and water can clean every surface decently well.
To avoid damaging the plastic interior, vacuum up the entire area, wipe everything with an all-purpose cleaner, and avoid applying the cleaner directly to the plastic.

definitely go for a hot air blower for drying the car. Dying is the point at which swirl risk is the highest when using a towel, esp of a waffle weave towel. Also, absolutely drop the sponge and hopefully your using a wash and rinse 2 bucket method You’re also not turning the mitt enough, two fresh sides ! Lots of good advice here but also a lot of areas to improve But my god, learnt a few things about tyre cleaning/care
I turned into a car wash geek since your article last year and wash my car every week now. I found out too late there’s no need for dozens of products. (At least I’m stocked up for a couple years) Like you said there are tons of methods to wash a car and you really don’t need any more than the stuff you have mentioned other than maybe a small soft brush for small crevices a mitt or sponge can’t reach. Amazing article like always! 🙌 you showed us the best method
Awesome article! So I take it you believe ONR is superior to a foam cannon wash? I’d be curious to see if ONR actually does what you say it does, and then compare it to a popular foam wash, like Chemical Guys. There seems to be a lot of opinion in this stuff. You aren’t alone, a lot of detailers recommend ONR! I’m just unsure about it. I hear a lot of claims that it does what you say, but is it really better? Looking for experts to show me!
Great vid (I came here after perusal your old vid from a year ago and glad I did!). I’ll be taking delivery of my highland model 3 in a couple of weeks x) Regarding colourlock, it looks like there is also a cleaning set specifically for vegan leather vs artificial leather. It’s more expensive, so would you say either is fine (tesla advertises vegan seats so I was curious if there is a big difference).
Just picked up my 2024 Model Y from getting PPF, ceramic coating, and window tint. I told the owner about this article and your recommendations and he was in agreement, recommending a minimum of 1 wash per month, preferably 2 or more with at least one “full” wash (not just rinseless) but always avoiding automatic “tunnel” washes.
Great article thank you for it, my wife just got a black M3 and how fast it gets dirty drives me crazy haha. Does that spray bottle last you the whole wash or are you filling it multiple times? And does this method keep the dust off it for a while? You said you only clean the high traffic areas once a week and not the whole car as needed?
