How To Clean The Plastic Dashboard Gauge Inside?

To clean the interior plastic of your car, follow these steps:

  1. Choose a fluid cleanser made for cleaning the inside plastic in your car and blend it with warm water.
  2. Clean the range well with a cloth. If the plastic is finished or extremely grimy, use a delicate brush to expel the profound soil and grime. Flush the cleanser and soil away with clean water.
  3. Clean the plastic on your car’s gauge cluster to maintain visibility while driving. Start by using a soft and clean microfiber cloth to wipe down the plastic. Avoid using any harsh cleaners.
  4. Turn off the car and remove any dust using compressed air or a soft brush. Mix a mild soap solution and use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe the plastic. Avoid applying too much pressure, as it may cause scratches or damage. For stubborn stains or marks, lightly scrub the area using a soft-bristled toothbrush or a specialized plastic cleaning brush. Rinse and dry.
  5. Use Plastic Restore, a product that can clean, restore, and protect your car’s interior plastic, including black plastic, trim, and dashboards.
  6. Regularly clean the dashboard, door panels, and center console to prevent accumulation of dust, fingerprints, and stains over time. Consider using a plastic-specific product that cleans, polishes, and protects while being safe.
  7. Gently wipe screens/clusters first with a deep pile microfiber to collect dust/big stuff. Gently clean plastic and avoid circular motion.
  8. Use Optimum Opti-Clean on your entire interior, including gauge lenses and touch screens. A tacky substance like Cyber Clean Putty can be used to remove particles from delicate surfaces.
  9. Try distilled water, vinegar, and a few drops of dish soap to wet the lens and keep it wet for a bit of rubbing with a soft cloth.
  10. Remove the single T20 Torx screw on the top, middle section of the gauge bezel.

  • I went through the same thing haha. Tried cleaning it while installed, thought it was inside the plastic. An hour later, I have the plastic off anddddd it’s on the outside. Now I’m waiting for someones car to take to town and get that Turtle Wax since I dont think its smart to drive a vehicle without an instrument cluster 😂 By the way, for anyone with the same issue: Its probably on the outside. Someone, at some point, used an abrasive cleaner
