This video provides a step-by-step guide on how to clean and maintain Plasti Dip on a vehicle. To clean Plasti-dipped surfaces, use mild soap and water, a soft cloth or sponge, and avoid scrubbing too hard to maintain the finish. Large areas can be cleaned with Plasti Dip Panel Wipe degreaser, while small areas can be cleaned with Plasti Dip “Dip Care Prep Degreaser”. Ensure all water is removed and the area is clean. Use a fresh microfiber towel to rub the edges and corners of a panel, door, or hood with Plasti Dip, causing its edges to peel and loosen.
To remove Plasti Dip without damaging the original surface, use LIQUID WRENCH Penetrating Oil (Product L112). This penetrating oil is safe for painted surfaces. Avoid using sharp scrapers or harsh rubbing agents. A small amount of “Goo-Gone” on a microfiber can help keep dust off for a short time.
To clean plasti-dip, load it up with water and soap, or use Windex. Windex is a reliable product for Plasti Dip, and a bucket of dish washing soap and a soft brittle brush can do the job. Preparing trim for paint requires scuffing, sanding, smoothing, and de-greasing before painting.
