Tip: As an anime collector I have been buying since 2012I use Detolfs from Ikea for everything I own because I set up the display as a room divider thus you can see the figurines from all sides. Here is the tip now. Always figure out your electrical first this will make it way easier later on to set up displays and you wont need to run extension cords in front of your display. I noticed with 1 theme, Transformers in your case, it was somewhat easier to organize. In my case, i collect 3 things, Power Rangers (mostly megazords), Transformers (mostly 3rd party. i still have some Hasbro ones that i’ve kept), and Gundams (ranging from 1/144th scale to 1/60th scale). I also have a Soul of Chogokin DX Voltes V figure that i would want to display. But with so many themes, its hard to balance out.

Would it be possible to just keep them out of direct sunlight, in a darker area of my room? Also, my room is not very bright to begin with because of the direction the window is facing. and second – if I can run an AC or a dehumidifier? Especially heat is a problem here and because I know that too much heat isn’t good for your figures (I collect anime figures, mostly made out of PVC and ABS), I use AC to keep the room colder. Watched this article again and definitely had some questions. 1. What did you use to heighten the figures when displaying them with figures of similar heights 2. What if your collection is a mix of many different stuff. For me lego, transformers, anime/manga, and article game items. How would you suggest i go about displaying everything?
The issue I frequently have as someone who collects larger UCS Lego sets, is that these shelving units (and even more expensive ones) simply aren’t deep enough to to fit many of my sets. Those types of shelves are, at best, 1 foot deep, which simply isn’t enough space I need something that’s 1.5 to 2 feet deeps in order to avoid having my sets not fall off and also display well. The options I often see are either custom shelves (expensive to buy) or the more industrial “garage” racks, which don’t look as nice.
I will say that the comment about posing only really goes for figures such as transformers. Something like marvel legends or humanoid figures should always have some kind of pose or attitude going on, otherwise your display will look like the “bunch of messy toys” thing no matter how much pizzaz you add to the display cases and surroundings.

This article was a revelation. I just now started to think about actually displaying a collection I have had for years. Original Trilogy figures I have had since I was a kid. They are opened and played with, but they mean something to me dammit. So this was great. I have the perfect corner in my room to build this and I can display them easily. getting an air purifier in the room would not be a problem.
