The City of Box Elder has revised Section 42-221 of the City of Box Elder Municipal Code regarding the refund of utility account deposits. The ordinance establishes districts for the regulation and separation of land uses within city limits, including permitted uses, minimum lot sizes, and layout. The City of Box Elder has determined the addition of two appendixes within the International Residential Code to align with the city’s zoning designation. The City of Box Elder has determined that additional clear view area may be required by the County Roads Department based on guidance from the latest version of the American Association of Highways.
The City of Box Elder has also determined that no alteration to any building shall indicate from the exterior that the building is being utilized in whole or in part. Construction includes concrete, masonry, carpentry, excavation, steel, window and door, insulation, taping, plaster, flooring, and more. The City of Box Elder, South Dakota, Municipal Code requires loading doors with a fire protection rating of not less than 20 minutes and requires separation between doors. Additionally, an electrically activated audible alarm should be installed on all unattended exit doors, and door openings cannot hinder exit. The minimum space between any extended portion of the equipment is required to be 24″ from any extended portion of the equipment.
