Complete Review of Lowes’ Valspar Porch & Floor Paint Review as I apply it to my concrete front porch. I go over the cost, use, …
Could not be more timely. I had to paint and furnish a room quickly and inexpensively (long story). I went to my local Habitat for Humanity store and they had DOZENS of cans of Valspar basic off-white, from their Medallion line. (Not included in this article. Maybe it was a test product, or discontinued line?). It went on smoothly and looks good. I’m now considering it for most of my house. Thanks for the info, James!
Thanks for the info! I’m in the process of painting the majority of my rooms and I’m loving S-W SuperPaint with Air Purifying Technology. It has low VOC and helps with the off-gassing of new curtains, rugs, cabinets. The store is closer to me than Lowe’s and I just bought paint at 40% off, so I’ll be staying with S-W.
You need pristine walls for Valspar. I tried it recently and while the colour match is good I ended up with Farrow and Ball because te finish was a bit shiny and so highlighted all the problems in my walls. Bear in mind, I am in europe and we have plastered walls here rather than plasterboard. FYI, if you are in Britain. Wilko paint is amazing. Truly matt. Chalky finish. Easy to retouch. A bit soft and their washable stuff has that plastic sheen but a living room where you are no throwing spaghetti at the walls, its great
Great articles! It would be really cool if you do an info article / review on what people say is the best exterior paint brand – California paints, specifically their 2010 line (unless you have in the past and missed it). I know the brand has become hard to find, but I’ve talked to so many painters and paint stores and they’ve all said that you can’t get any better than the 2010 line for the exterior…at least in the northeast. In my own personal experience, I’ve always gravitated toward 2010 when I could. Their Storm System line for stains such as semi transparent, full body, etc. Thx!
Bro – if you want better prices at SW just wait for a sale. Then it’s ahead. Plus it’s ridiculous to suggest a contractor buy paint at Lowe’s. He’ll get much better prices at SW with an account, plus he can call in orders and have them delivered, and the employees know what they’re doing. Also the paint is different, being made by SW doesn’t mean anything.
