📹 Defining Your Target Audience is crucial for marketing your Painting Business
When you can eliminate who you are not going to be able to help, then those who you can help are all that’s left- and that is …
Which type of paint is most commonly used for interior work?
Latex paint, a water-based option, is a popular choice for interior painting due to its rapid drying time, minimal odor, and straightforward cleaning with water. It is available in a variety of finishes, including flat, eggshell, satin, and semi-gloss.
What brand interior paint do professional painters use?
Professional painters use premium paints like Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams, which are environmentally friendly and offer a wide range of options. Semi-gloss or gloss paints are ideal for a polished finish, while high-quality acrylic paints are ideal for interior walls due to their durability and resistance to fading and staining. Our team of interior house painters can help with single rooms or entire homes, and can arrange a free consultation to discuss their services.
What is the best paint for interior walls?
Ultra Flat paint is ideal for interior walls due to its exceptional durability, washability, and stain resistance. It is suitable for high-traffic areas and has a smooth application process. Flat paint, with its velvety, matte look, is suitable for hiding wall imperfections but is less durable and doesn’t stand up well to scrubbing. Although many paint formulas clean up easily with soap and water, people still prefer other sheens for easier care. Semi-gloss and gloss paint are best for trim and woodwork.
Does it matter where you buy paint?
Hardware store brands often perform better than premium brands, but the cheapest paints may not perform as well. When buying paint for home improvement projects, it’s important to check ratings first. Painting is one of the cheapest options, covering up to 400 square feet, so price shouldn’t be the top determinant. Instead, experts suggest that the project should determine the paint type, as it can cover up to 400 square feet.
Should interior wall paint be flat or satin?
For low-traffic areas like bedrooms, opt for flat or eggshell finishes for elegance and minimal shine. For high-traffic areas like hallways or kitchens, satin or semi-gloss paints are ideal due to their durability and ease of cleaning. Flat paint is suitable for bedrooms, living rooms, and dining rooms, while eggshell paint offers a subtle sheen. Satin paint is better suited for children’s rooms, hallways, and kitchens, and semi-gloss is the most durable option due to its moisture resistance and easy-to-clean nature.
When choosing paint’s sheen level, consider room type, traffic levels, and surface imperfections. Lower-sheen paints hide blemishes better, while higher-sheens highlight them. Proper preparation, including sanding uneven surfaces, is crucial for a smooth, drip-free coat. Quality materials and tools are essential for a smooth finish.
Why do builders use flat paint?
The flat finish paint is often used by builders, sellers, or low-cost painters in newer homes or homes painted by the seller for sale or by a low-cost painter. This low-grade paint is often used because it is inexpensive, easy to touch up, and hides imperfections in drywall walls. Builders avoid using satin or eggshell paint because it is difficult to touch up and reveals drywall work imperfections, which are often rushed to finish the job on budget.
After the walls are painted, electricians, plumbers, cabinet and granite installers, and floor finishers must come in and complete the finish work and installations, causing dings and scuffs in the walls. This is not cost-effective for the general contractor, painters, or homeowners. Therefore, builders use builder-grade flat paint.
However, this flat finish wears badly, scuffs easily, is chalky, and cannot be cleaned or removed. The problem is not because the paint is a flat finish; it is because the low-grade cheap paint saves the builder, seller, or low-cost painter money, allowing them to give a low bid and get the place looking good for the short term. However, the paint will not last or look good a year or two later.
Does interior paint quality matter?
Paints use various binders, such as acrylic, styrene-acrylic, or vinyl acrylic binders, and oil paints like linseed oil, soya oil, or alkyds. The type, quality, and amount of binders affect stain resistance, gloss, adhesion, and crack resistance. Higher-quality binders adhere better to surfaces, providing enhanced film integrity and longer-lasting performance. Top-quality paints have a greater ratio of solids (particles and binders) to liquids. Additives, which give paint a specific benefit, are common in higher-end paints.
Which Dutch boy paint is best?
The top-of-the-line Platinum® Plus and MAXBOND® Plus paints offer superior coverage and a proven one-coat hide, respectively.
What paint is best for bedroom walls?
The article posits that an eggshell finish is optimal for any bedroom paint color, as it is more resilient and easier to clean than a flat or matte sheen. This is particularly crucial in smaller or larger rooms where headboards, nightstands, or dressers frequently result in wall damage. Additionally, the article presents data regarding the hourly rates typically charged by painting contractors.
What is the most popular interior paint right now?
Benjamin Moore’s most popular interior paint colors include Pale Oak, Gray Owl, Edgecomb Gray, Revere Pewter, Stonington Gray, Balboa Mist, Coventry Gray, and Manchester Tan. These colors are known for their livability, flexibility, and universality. To choose the perfect paint color, consider lighting conditions, including artificial and natural light, and observe samples throughout the day and night. The company’s most popular and best-selling colors are available for you to explore.
Is it better to buy paint at Walmart or Home Depot?
Walmart paint is generally cheaper than Home Depot paint, but it often comes at the expense of quality. Home Depot offers brands like Behr and PPG, known for their superior performance and durability. While Walmart may be more expensive, the investment is usually worth it for the enhanced results and longevity. Expert opinions and user reviews advise against using Walmart paint for significant projects due to issues like poor coverage, inconsistent color, and reduced durability.
📹 ✨ NEWEST! ✨ DOLLAR TREE finds BETTER than Target! (easy DIY + new cleaners!)
Hey, guys! Today we are shopping at Dollar Tree and finding the best cleaning products for your windows, your floor, your laundry …
The way you pulled together items and decorated your friends entry way was absolutely a high end look! I love it! I used to be creative but have suffered lots of medical issues that have knocked the stuffin’ outta me. I really look to your articles for inspiration and to hear you say, “I’m enough and am loved.” Those simple words mean more than you know to some of us. Thank you! 🥰❤️
I absolutely love perusal your website. I actually have been a fan for years. I just wish Dollar Tree was amassing to shop at in NYC. Honey it’s the bottom of the barrel. No words could describe the ghetto empty stores and it’s not from theft. Family Dollar and 5 below are the best hands down in NYC.
While I was growing up, my mother always used Oxydol powdered laundry detergent and had the whitest whites ever, even my brothers’ baseball uniforms and socks that were constantly covered in ground-in red dirt. It was a bit expensive even back in the day, but cleaned much better than Tide. Unfortunately, I haven’t seen it in many years. Maybe this Dollar Tree product will help do the trick.
I picked up that shower cleaner last week. Despite cleaning, I had pink mold in my shower. Sprayed that product, clean in under 10 minutes. Smelled ok too. Very impressed for $1.25! I’m going to check out those candles on your recommendation. Moving as soon as my house sells, so pretty much everything is in boxes, but since it might be a few more weeks until I get an offer, I want something seasonal, and the candles would be perfect.
I don’t know what Dollar Tree you go to but my local dollar trees are never as neat and tidy as yours. On the contrary, they are a mess of unopened boxes and shelves with merchandise thrown everywhere in a messy heap. Nor do they ever have all the products you find. Therefore, I’ve pretty much given up going.
I’ve been using the Oxydol regular in all my laundry along with baking soda and borax and for those greasy farm clothes I use the orange Oxydol as well for months before that I was buying the knock-off Dollar General oxy cleaner from their $1 aisle for years mixed with the baking soda and borax. My clothes have never been cleaner and more vibrant and bonus with that mixture I only add 1/4 cup of detergent so it makes my detergent last a lot longer!!
You are the queen of decorating on a budget. Btw I just wanted to mention I tried the dollar tree pizza crust you mentioned previously. I also found a small jar of marinara sauce and the pepperoni at my dollar tree. I came home and added some shredded cheese I had on hand. It turned out great. We all enjoyed making our own little pizza’s. It was definitely dinner on a budget and it all tasted great.
@DoItOnaDime Easy crockpot chicken & dumplings or biscuits whichever you choose. -1 or 2 10oz bags of frozen mixed vegetables. -2-3 diced russet potatoes. -1-2 diced onions. -2lbs chicken (raw or cooked) diced or shredded -2 large 22.6 oz cans of cream of chicken soup -fill soup can with water and stir, add more water until desired thickness. ☆This depends if you’re making dumplings or biscuits for me. ● dumplings I like more of a soupy broth. ● Biscuits I like it to almost be a gravy thickness. -season to taste. I add salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Bell’s poultry seasoning. Sorry I just add freely without measuring. Cook on Low for 4 hours or on High for 6 hours. I have a crockpot that switches to warm once set time is done. So if I do it on a work day it’s okay I won’t be home for 8.5-9 hours. When done I take 1-2 can(s) of biscuits (this depends on if I buy and pop open, tear each biscuit into 2, 3 or 4 pieces dip in flour. Shake off access flour and place on chicken mixture overlapping edges a bit. Cover entire mixture with biscuits and cover then continue to cook in crockpot for dumplings. For biscuits you can make the biscuits as directed on can or using same as dumplings only you pull the crock out of heating element and without the lid, cook in oven at 375° until biscuits are tan.
Dearest Kathryn! I came back to this article so I could leave a message. I just finished perusal your GOHQ 2024 presentation — WOW!!! There are so many terrific nuggets there that it’s hard to know which to comment on. BUT. . . The very best of all is the theme that runs through the whole article, that we are a Sister community, and we must take care of each other. Every single one of us is Enough, and we can’t speak that over our Sisters too much! And the day will come when we hear you say to us, “You are Enough,” that we can say “Yes! I AM Enough!” ❤❤
I love the fact that you mentioned the sterno $10 set if you add another $10 to it. You can buy them at Sam’s Club probably even Walmart and it’s a party set of 24 and it comes with double the amount of supplies and things no it doesn’t fold up like that one does but I can guarantee you. I have been using them for six years and it was well worth the money That my company spent and the only thing that I have to replace three different sizes of aluminum pans and I buy one package that comes with 12 sterno cans for $20 and basically what I’m doing is catering to a crowd of 50-100 people….. do you know how much restaurants charge for all of this when they’re catering this way all you have to do is order the food and have it delivered or go pick it up. I would have to see how sturdy the ones are at the dollar tree before I said yes they were worth $10, but either way if you do a lot of big meals for big events and you do them buffet style, you cannot go wrong and purchasing the catering sterno no matter where you get them from
Good morning young lady. Like to see your articles. I like your decoration of the table of her entry way. Sorry except the wall. Does 4 compass frames. A medium or large size gold frame, would look elegance the wall. With your respect that’s my opinion. Going to wait for your next article.thank you. Take care same your family.
Unfortunately I live in an area that doesn’t stock the stores like yours is. The DT’s aren’t free standing. They are stores that moved into strip mall spaces so many of them are pretty small. When I see the stuff you preview (or other YouTubers I can just about guarantee they won’t be carrying it in the stores near me. Maybe the candles and twinkling lights. I haven’t been in the store yet so it’s hard to say. Also I don’t have my own home or even apartment to decorate so no need to worry about it I guess.
I get how u r trying to show how to style groupings of Dollar Tree only items but I think your friends area needs things on a much larger size scale, those canvas prints are way too small it would look better to buy a bunch of their mirrors. On the table one of their fall tiered trays & serving trays would look great and so would the stacked pumpkins 😊
It just cracks me up that I literally would have to go to the dollar tree with a list of things to look for to copy what you’re doing or to already decide It’s something I want from your articles because …… for example, today I stopped into a dollar tree which wasn’t the best one, but still—— I’m walking through the aisles and NOTHING is coming to my mind creatively. I’m passing the crafts and all these different cool things and I’m just looking at them like I don’t need them and I can’t even think of what I would do with them ! 😂😂😂😂😂. ….even though my house is in complete disarray Disorganized, and in need of a facelift.
Katherine, not sure what state you live in, and I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but 80% of the items you showed, will never show up, in any of my Upstate NY stores. Most of our stores don’t even have plus sections. Thank you for taking the time to share with us though, I really do appreciate it.🙂
It’s awesome to see these nice items, but I don’t get to come across many of these items. I live in California in Los Angeles and the stores close to me have nothing like these stores. I would like to see them in person. Good luck to me then and the stores are not as nicely organized like this one. Thank you much 🙏🏻
