I made one with a shoebox. Wanted to start with something simple and tested it with a bowl of water. Went from 72F to 100F in one hour. It works! I want do it again along with a control so I can compare. Can’t decide whether to just put the control bowl (rhyme intended) by itself in the sun, in another shoebox or in the shoebox with just the plastic wrap over the opening. Maybe all three of those!
