  • I used to love Washington Park, and I still think it’s a great neighborhood, but over the past 10-15 years so many of the old historic, unique, Victorian, Tudor Revival, and Craftsman houses have been torn down and had generic McMansions built on top of them. It’s stripped a lot of the character and cache out of the neighborhood for me. It’s kinda funny how the Highlands are considered a desirable neighborhood now, I remember 20 years ago that part of town was rife with crime and urban blight, and no one wanted to live there; Sloan’s Lake, 5 Points, and Rhino used to be the exact same way as well.

  • I can’t believe Green Valley Ranch makes the list but Virginia Village doesn’t. Virginia Village is never even on the radar even though it’s within walking distance from Cherry Creek (along the bike path). We barely made the list back in 2017 but then fell off somewhere and it’s like it doesn’t even exist.

  • We used to live 2 blocks from Sloans Lake. We loved our quaint but small raised ranch (downsides: no central air, small bedrooms, 2 up, 2 in basement). I had my eye on two larger ranches near our old home where older people owned. I knew there was an opportunity to buy one at a later date. But our home wasn’t conducive to housing 2 children with its layout. When my in laws contracted to buy a new build in Grant Ranch, I fell in love with this jewel of a pocket of real estate and searched for a neighborhiod here that had a price point we could afford, 25 years ago. Our home in Sloans Lake probably costs more than our larger home in Grant Ranch, though. We have enjoyed the free paddleboarding available to us in the summers, taking off at the village center. The isthmus park is an awesome walk steps away. I’m guessing you’re in Regatta. I wanted to buy there but the prices were beyond our then-budget. I’m happy to be at our home, even 25 years later. Private back yard. Steps from isthmus park. Many places to eat nearby and lots of places to buy groceries. Like I said, it’s a jewel of a neighborhood in Grant Ranch.
