Chevy Silverado Interior Door Panel Removal Instructions?

This video tutorial by 1A Auto demonstrates how to remove or replace the interior door panel trim on various vehicles. The tutorial covers various repairs, such as removing the door panel of a 2020 Silverado truck, replacing the inner door trim on a 07-13 Chevy Silverado or GMC Sierra, and finding areas with circular plugs matching the interior design and composite. The video also covers replacing the interior door armrest on a 2013 Chevy Silverado, which involves opening the door and looking for two Phillips head screws near the bottom. Gently pull the door trim panel away from the door, including along the upper edge. Use a plastic trim tool to aid in the removal of the door trim panel. To remove the pull handle, remove two bolts behind the door handle and two behind the handle. Open the clip on the front of the door lock knob and pull the door panel starting at a lower corner and lift the panel up. • This article is misleading. The most difficult part of removing this panel has been omitted. At 2:40 the panel pops off with comparative ease. This is not the case. There are 5 tight-fitting metal clips mounted across the top of the door frame that snap into corresponding slots in the plastic door panel. Disengaging the panel from these clips is no easy chore. This article makes no mention of this most important task – and – the metal clips are absent from the door in the article which proves they had been removed in a deliberate effort to avoid showing the difficulty involved. Better luck next time…

  • I unfortunately had to look up this article to get helpful tips from you. And thankfully you guys had this article. I used step by step method and did it. Unfortunately. My problem is a little larger than just removing the panel. But I came to say thank you guys for posting the article and helping me out. I truly appreciate that.
