Are GMC trucks built better than Chevy?

GMC trucks and vans were initially designed with upgraded suspension and transmission, while Chevy trucks were used for daily traffic. Today, GMC trucks still have larger braking systems, a beefier transmission, and larger wheel axles and suspension strength compared to their Chevy counterparts. The automotive industry in the U. S. is renowned for American car brands like Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors.

However, there is confusion regarding ownership and vehicle characteristics between GMC and Chevrolet, as both brands produce similar pickups. This confusion is largely due to the fact that GM owns both brands.

  • There is one item that may not have been mentioned, its been hidden so well by GM on the refresh model that no one had ever been able to find it …. and that is the 12 volt socket plug for the myriad of devices that people own or can buy to this day that require that socket to be powered period or charged, examples of a small tire inflator, mattress pump, stand alone GPS unit, older phones ( yes they exist ) radar devices and on and on and on.

  • The best camera feature IMO if the add-on trailer camera. It enables transparent trailer mode which uses the truck cameras and a camera mounted on the rear of your trailer that plugs right into a port next to the 7pin trailer port. It works amazingly well and basically looks like you can see clear through your trailer to see what is around the entire thing while driving or reverse. It also enables trailer assist backing which adds guide lines and a diagram of the truck and trailer orientation as you back up to help you back the trailer up right where you want it. It’s way better than any trailer camera system I’ve seen before. And it integrates right into that big beautiful display with all the other cameras. If you have the 360 camera system you have those trailering camera ports. The other port you can mount a camera inside your trailer with or you can put a camera pretty much anywhere you want.

  • Also to mention for those who don’t know they have the HUD is there are multiple screen options you can choose from by hitting the “HUD” button to rotate through them. I love having the navigation info. on it along with other info. Just wish it would get brighter for using with dark polarized sunglasses in bright daylight, but the dimming feature for night is great. I didn’t think the HUD would be something I’d like, but I do love it.

  • Great article! I did not know about the auto window down feature! 2 things Ill say after 13k miles on my 24 HD AT4; – The reverse tilt mirrors had me excited at first, but I found when you go back in park or drive, they dont reset to exactly where I had them programmed to. So I have to readjust them each time. I ended up just turning the feature off because it was so annoying. – The mirror “spotlights” are not nearly bright enough to help much with visibility if you’re working around the truck at night. I plan on replacing them with brighter aftermarkets that will also work when the truck is in drive with the brights on. One tip I’ll mention to other HD owners that piggybacks off of your highlighting that the cameras still work while in drive; The front camera is incredibly useful in heavy rains as it seems to almost completely cut through the “whiteout” affect tou can sometimes experience when driving in heavy rains. But, definitely, DO NOT use the intelligent cruse in those rains! Thanks for the great article!

  • Hey Gabriel, how do the accessory plugs work, are they switched w/key or always live and the 120v both inside and in the bed are they also switched. Also is there a run down setting on them so you don’t run the batteries all the way down. I can’t find any info on them and mine is on order waiting to get built. Thank you for all the information.

  • Thanks for the article, I learned a few features I did not know I had. Unfortunately, the build quality of these trucks just isn’t what it used to be. Multiple DEF, ECU, yolk, transmission issues. I’ve had my Denali brick itself 5 times on the main road. To top it all off the seats are horrendous for a truck at this price point. If you spend a large portion of your day in it you will be disappointed.

  • I watched Your first presentation after 10,000 miles and really enjoyed it but you’ve went the extra mile here and it’s really appreciated . You seem to really care about people and sharing knowledge so honestly I hope Your a GODLY Man and are the same way you are in your presentation because JESUS would want You to help other’s even about a truck they really like better because of You ; You would or do make a real Fisherman of men Sir . Have a Blessed Day Sir and thank You for all the help !!!!
