When not to use simply white?

Simply White can sometimes appear too yellow for some people, but it is bright enough to avoid dinginess. If you are concerned about this, it is recommended to use Sherwin-Williams Pure White instead. Simply White looks yellowest in north-facing rooms with little natural light, when paired with cooler wall paints, accent colors, or wood tones, and as paint ages and yellows over time. To avoid this pitfall, Simply White works better in brighter south-facing rooms, like a daughter’s room, by using it on the trim and walls to achieve a crisp white look. The ceiling beams are particularly prone to yellow appearance due to the least amount of natural light.

  • Me again!😄 For the past 20 years all the trim and ceilings in my house have been Behr upw, it’s definitely neutral enough to go with anything but it is SCREAMING white even in the dark! lol. I do prefer bright white ceilings though. Right now I’m trying to get my house back in shape and want to repaint everything, I’m using sw emerald urethane in stock high hide white which definitely works with the cooler colors I’m thinking of for bedrooms and it looks good in the one room I have just about finished in a medium dark grayish purple but I think I’m going to have to go with a warmer color/s for my living room, hallway, kitchen and I’m not sure the high hide white is going to like that idea. Do you know anything about the ultra white emerald urethane? I’m thinking of switching to it and/or maybe having it tinted to chantilly lace or similar so I can keep things simple and use one white on trim and doors throughout, plus keep my ceilings bright white. In the one room I used SW premium ceiling paint and I think I want to use it throughout, it’s a nice bright clean white with an LRV of 92. I have crown molding in my kitchen and living room so I feel like I have to go with something brighter on the trim for that reason also. Something bright and neutral but softer? and not so polarizing as behr upw would be great……. Am I dreaming? Lol I have an anxiety disorder and this whole process has me eating klonopin like tic tacs already! Lmao……… not funny really😐
