What Paint Color Goes With A Mercedes-Palomino Interior?

The text describes the process of finding a match for Mercedes-Benz interior colors, specifically “Palomino” in parts/dyes that resemble the car’s interior trim color. The text suggests using a reference book to find the 274 color for an ’85 (‘2′ means leather and ’74’ the color), also known as “Grey”. The interior color is “Grey” and the MB code is 218A. To replace or recolor the paint, the author recommends using Folex carpet cleaner at Lowes or SEM cleaner for leather and vinyl.

The text also mentions the use of Auto Leather Dye for Mercedes leather interior dye colors by make and model. The code numbers for the exterior paint and interior upholstery color can be found in the delivery book that came with your car. Applying the color with sponges, the author found that the color called Saffron is a dead-on match to the Palomino interior.

The text also mentions Color Plus in Milford PA, which makes an exact match dye for all Mercedes interior colors. The text also mentions that the chart only displays newer colors (late ’90’s to present) and that if you require colors for older or vintage models, please contact them.

The text concludes by recommending SEM interior paint, specifically the Palimino color coat vinyl paint, which can be used to restore or change the color of vinyl, carpet, properly prepped and primed metal, velour, and other surfaces.

What is Mercedes signature color?

In 1934, the W 25 won the Eifel race, marking the beginning of a new era in motor racing history. The Mercedes-Benz Silver Arrows, a team that had a unique success story, began with the “scraped off paint” on the eve of the race. The W 25 weighed one kilogram too much, so Alfred Neubauer, the manager of the Mercedes-Benz racing team, ground off the white paint to create a purely aluminum body that sparkled in silver. Manfred von Brauchitsch won the race with a commanding performance, stating that driving a Silver Arrow was an honor.

The Silver Arrows became a legend, originating from the story of the “scraped off paint” and their unrivalled series of successes. After the war-related interruption of racing, the Silver Arrows and brilliant drivers, such as Juan Manuel Fangio in the W 196 R Formula One car in 1954 and 1955, returned to the World Championship in 1998 and 1999, with Mika Häkkinen capturing the title.

  • i did this for a trans am i was restoring years ago, i got the same paint as you (same color even) but i found out that spraying it on turns out much MUCH nicer. i used the preval spray kit first and that didnt do that great of a job. so i took it it to wesco (automotive paint shop) and had them put it in a can but with leather/vinyl safe solvent. i used SEM vinyl prep, which not only cleans the surface of the vinyl but it also makes it tacky so the pain sticks to it and remains flexible, no cracking, no peeling all these years later. good luck.
