Why is the paint washing off when I clean my cabinets, even with just water? I degreased and cleaned my oak cabinets, then sanded with 150 grit sandpaper, dusted off and cleaned again, sprayed 2cts of bin shellac primer to seal the would waited recommended recoat time, sprayed emerald urethane, recoated 5 hours later in proper temperatures. Results after 4wks: Paint is very sticky and soft, scratches very easy, and worst of all the paint washes off simply by using a microfiber rag with just water. Am I doing something wrong here or is your product defective? No paint that cost so much should perform like this. Very dissatisfied with your product SW 🤦🏻♂️
Dries hard enough to be used for interior woodwork and cabinetry. Yet flexible enough to be outside and not crack in to Oblivion with expanding and contracting surfaces. I bet this was a nightmare in R&D. Was this tested on a pencil hardness or pendulum scale? Or would customers be better off sticking with Precat? customers
I just used this on my exterior door in anchors aweigh color (dark navy blue) and what a mistake, it is providing none of what this article states it will, scratches ridiculously easy and when we tried cleaning it with paper towel soaked in water left a smug where we wiped. Used this over BM Advance because Advance needs 16hr between coat times…big mistake!
Two days ago I painted the walls and trim of a small paneled room in my very old house with Sherwin Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel. After two days the paint odor is too strong for me to stay in the room and continue my work. I’ve opened the windows (it’s about 35 degrees outside) and have put pots of water, some with lemon, some with vinegar around the room. I used this paint because I happened to have it and it was the same color & sheen type I needed, thought it’d be fine. I actually like the smell of paint, but this is overwhelming and uncomfortable to breathe. This is the eleventh room I’ve painted in the last year, all the rest with other paint and the odor was never an issue.
Just painted my cabinets! Sanded, vacuumed, cleaned all the dust! Priemed with shellac! Day later painted with emerald urethane And paint is no holding the edges of my trim! Old color white showed after drying! Showed pictures of the problem to sherwin Williams and the only what they can do is to refund my money? To bad! To bad they don’t have more options for CABINETS paint! Proclassic was no available on the dark color I’m using!
