What Is The Chevrolet Interior Lighting Package?

The GM Interior Illumination Kit is part of the Premium Interior Package for the 2024 Chevy Tahoe, which includes a range of options and packages. The package allows users to change the color of cup holders and foot wells, as well as shut them off completely during color rotation. The SJ8 Interior Illumination Package is part of the Premium Interior Package and was available on all 2021 Colorado models.

Sport cars like the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro also feature ambient lighting to brighten up the interior, with the former even allowing users to change gauge cluster colors. The Premium Interior Package was available on all 2021 Colorado models and included an all-weather floor liner.

Interior lighting consists of two groups: Dome Lamps, which may not be dimmed, and Interior Spectrum Lighting, which offers 24 different ambient lighting options. The SJ8 Interior Illumination Package provides a soft glow and personal touch to the interior of your vehicle with lighted cup holders and under dash/floor lights, with multi-colored LEDs that can be adjusted to the color of choice.

These systems include dome lights, mirror lights, map and reading lamps, storage lights, and more. The illumination package is considered an add-on and costs $3,000, but it is worth it if you want a complete LED interior illumination package. Customers must ship their parts to zip code 60163 to modify their vehicles with LED lights.

  • I agree. This is insane. Buy a new truck for $70K and the Map and Posted speedlimit display stops working after first month. The bad part those features can come from your phone. We should not need GM data to make that work as that should be able to pull from the phone. I have bought GM since late 70s. I almost bought a Toyota Tundra 1794 this time and wish I did.

  • My 2024 2500 HD Duramax is in the shop again after multiple drive train problems. Is has been there now on this stint for 12 days with a transmission failure at 2200 miles. Failures started at 200 miles. The product and brand is horrible. I purchased an LTZ version (high country quality) and it has been a nightmare. Stay away! I haven’t even towed with it yet. Sad!

  • The Audio/Radio system fell short in comparison to my 2013 model. When using the radio and playing ones USB playlist the new system will not upload the playlist onto the music radio from a thumb drive. Also when using the USB outlet for music there is no other one (USB) available from the front seats for other applications.

  • I have a 2023 Silverado 1500 LT. The 2021 allowed to have 2 phones connected concurrently (when you have personal and business phone like I do). Some people say the 2023 has that. Is that true? How to activate that? I heard one phone would be primary and use CarPlay and second phone would be secondary and for Bluetooth call only. Cannot make it work on my truck

  • My first road trip with vehicle. What a POS. I would never have bought the vehicle if I knew what a totally pile of crap this system is. Do not buy any vehicle with this in it. Apple Play not working. Google wants to track all your information. Bait and switch on features. More like they turn them off to get you to the ultimate cash cow, a subscription. FU GM!!!

  • Hi, I’m trying to get a turn by turn direction. It says downloading, then it stops and no route downloaded. So I called Onstar, talked to the gentlemen and tried to help me. They said that it has something to do with the app permissions that it should be allowed or enabled. The tech asked me to look for Navigation or turn by turn settings in that page and click allow. The problem was, I can’t find that Turn By turn permission or am I missing some steps?

  • We are having problems with our phone not staying connected to the truck, every time I start it up I have to reconnected the phone. The guest mode is automatically connected, any suggestions on how to correct this? Also it will not let me sign into Google Play, it says not authorized by admin? Thank you!

  • I can’t stand the 2024 Infortainment Center…. If you are trying to play a Thumbdrive and you’re by yourself you can ONLY do it by voice command this is awful…. After trying about a dozen times to speak what you want and it does not get it right you just give up! Like if you say, “Play BJ Thomas” it will respond, “Ok, calling BJ” (who is a contact of mine). Then if you have 5 or 6 albums by the same artist it is impossible to speak to the infotainment center WHICH album you want to play….. this is nothing but the Nanny State….which I don’t understand because you can change the website on the Radio and Satellite Radio manually if you’re by yourself, I just can’t figure our why you are locked out of doing it manually if you’re driving by yourself…..many times I just have to pull over to a stop to select what I want played (and that seems more dangerous).
